Some people just don't have a life and lives on making unnecessary drama.
I have seen this gif a few times now, and i wonder, does the ship clip through the tree in the end or is that my imagination?
This NEEDED to be done.
EDIT: Can I get a xBox supporter to explain those weird, minecraft-looking structures built into the mountains in Infinite? Like, how can they possibly be justified in a graphically ambitious title? And, furthermore, I'm not sure they can be painted as being 'early' versions of a, shall we say, more polygonal model to come in future. It looks like they're very deliberate and baked in to the design. Right?
It's supposed to represent a natural phenomenon called columnar jointing like in this image, but it is much too clean and synthetic looking in the game. This NEEDED to be done.

okay that's valid.. maybe it's like one zone of the world that looks that way...It's supposed to represent a natural phenomenon called columnar jointing like in this image, but it is much too clean and synthetic looking in the game.
I dunno what the answer I'm supposed to see is? I can say that it makes me think of the original version of 'Outcast' on PC...
Look carefully.
It does and the tree doesn't even move.I have seen this gif a few times now, and i wonder, does the ship clip through the tree in the end or is that my imagination?

Pretty sure it doesn't, just looks like it because of how the lights are bleeding throughIt does and the tree doesn't even move.
Go to the 4K video, slow it down to 0.25. The wing clips it.Pretty sure it doesn't, just looks like it because of how the lights are bleeding through
Came to post this lol
it's a crossgen game.Go to the 4K video, slow it down to 0.25. The wing clips it.
Even if it didn't clip you'd expect the tree to at least move, it's a scripted scene in a nextgen game. We are already used to insane level of detail in current gen games, a tree moving when a spaceship fly's by it is basic stuff.
I went through frame by frame before my last comment, and personally I don't think it clips. I re-watched it now and I stand by that, but I agree that it looks bad though. The animation of the ship doesn't look fluid at all (it's very on rails), the ship itself looks kinda low poly and I agree that the lack of environmental interaction (even just particles) stands out.Go to the 4K video, slow it down to 0.25. The wing clips it.

There are many other details like this missing in this games, enemies don't bleed, don't react properly when shot, weird muzzle flashes, insanely bad lighting and so on.
It’s alien made so it can be perfect in form. But I don’t like it how they visually look.okay that's valid.. maybe it's like one zone of the world that looks that way...
... well, indeed, it hasn't been "perfected" yet, clearly.

Not sure if it clips or not, but that is the least of this games worries. I too was shocked to see completely static looking plastic trees.Go to the 4K video, slow it down to 0.25. The wing clips it.

i suppose that's a reasonable enough reason... but all haloes are alien made... has a reason been given in the lore (i'm not familiar with the lore) as to why different rings are different from each other? It’s alien made so it can be perfect in form. But I don’t like it how they visually look.
I guess people just don't have anything better to do. It's sad.
Crysis 3 vs Halo Infinite which one is the better shooter game?
...................it was made in Dreams? This NEEDED to be done.

Perhaps there are a few memes that have been issued in the opposite direction that should be, shall we say, counter-balancedYeah, Halo Infinite is visually unimpressive.
This horse has been brutally beaten and meme'd to death.
I think the point was made.

Stop Crysis 3 released in 2013 and still completely demolishes Halo Infinite.Of course Crytek are better at visuals than 343 and most other studios as well. They created a game engine that other developers pay to use and pioneered shading and lighting techniques still used to this day.
There is a difference between talking about games and hating on games/brands. Nice talking about games would be a dream, but this will never happen as long as exclusive games exist. No question, Halo deserved critcism for the graphics, but GAF is carrying it too far. We're here on a forum - to kill time - to talk about gaming - another means of killing time. So yeah, by virtue of everything Neogaf stands for, none of us have anything better to do.
They didn't delay Sea of Thieves and that turned out to be a big success so I don't see them doing it for Halo.I'm really interested to see how much of a U-Turn might come out of this reception to their showcase... Delay infinite until 2021?
i think the remarks regarding the structures only came about because the rest looks so bad (low res textures, bad lighting, bad animation, regressed A.I. compared to the first Halo, lod pop-ins). Obviously people will question every single design choices then. This NEEDED to be done.

I think you've touched on something there that explains the lite graphics~ as i mused on other threads, i think this might be the next SoT, or Fortnite or whatever, for them~They didn't delay Sea of Thieves and that turned out to be a big success so I don't see them doing it for Halo.
the rest looks so bad

Does this actually happen IRL? I've never seen formations like this outside of video games. I live in Florida though. The closest thing we have to a mountain here is the landfill. It's supposed to represent a natural phenomenon called columnar jointing like in this image, but it is much too clean and synthetic looking in the game.
