I am sure you have played it but I am working on CrossCode right now and it is such a joy.

I tried the Steam demo and honestly didn’t get the appeal. Visually it’s nice but the gameplay just didn’t click for me.

I pulled out my Vita over the weekend to play Spelunky. That game is great. It's too bad there's no Switch version. Did Sony lock the sequel up forever or is it just a timed exclusive?

As a massive, long-time fan of Spelunky (started on the PC version all those years ago), Flinthook is... pretty darn close in feel and intensity. Give it a try if you haven't.

Paper Mario fans should move on.

As a Melee fan I can understand the desire for a return to the good old days but their comes a point where you either have to enjoy the new games for what they are or just accept that what you loved about a prior entry is never coming back and give it up.

It's no use holding out hope and continuing being upset and disappointed with new entries.

FYI, Ys Origin is getting another physical release, this time from Strictly Limited Games, targeted for European markets.

I really like this way. It is sometimes expensive to import these limited print games from America, so good on Falcom for giving rights to two different companies.

It really is, if people stop obsessing over the fact this games is not TTYD and is not trying be one, more people would able to enjoy this game.
I just beat it the other day. Brilliant game!

Took about 35 hours to get through and I never got bored.

35? I'm 25 hours in I believe and I'm in the desert, am I a slow gamer?
I don't think you're going slow. You've still got the purple and green streamers which is probably another 6 hours. Then you have the final area + the final boss which is maybe another 2 hours. So, depending how far you're into the desert chapter, you've probably got around 10 hours left.

Looks like we are getting another company to make physical games

The prices on those games are ridiculous. Considering the price of the games on the eshop and the fact that the small file size will mean the smallest cart size it's kinda absurd to charge $40 + shipping. Hell their third release is A Robot Named Fight which is almost always under 1 £/$. It's beyond Switch tax, it's just price gauging and preying on an increasingly oversaturated collectors market.

On Blood Hockey they need to hit the minimum order quantity (5k) before they go ahead and they state clearly that they will reprint if the demand is there. From the perspective of the market they're aiming for and as a sucker for the collectors market the whole endevour strikes me as tone teaf and missing the point.

And those international shipping rates - yeeesh. High price for duty unpaid = Nope.

Totally agree with you but al least it’s a option for those that want physical games.
No one ever said gaming is cheap, hell look Jooxed Jooxed Switch game collection ...lol , he has more games than brain cells when it comes to Switch games.

I keep a spread sheet to keep track how much i spend in games just to remind myself of how much money I could have in my bank account. You don't even want to know.

I meant no disrespect about you buying so many games just the opposite but we all have things we throw many at without thinking. I have that problem too :messenger_pensive:

But are these games really in that much demand? If they had the game in hand ready to ship then that's one thing as it means that those who buy it get it and the risk falls on the company, but placing orders on a product that's not yet produced and is dependant upon hitting a MOQ? that leaves the consumer open to significant risk. I know because I was one of the many who got burned by "Warned collectors" when they did the same and then buggered off with everyone's money after failing to hit the order numbers they needed.

Maybe, maybe not. Not really sure how in demand these games are but if someone did me wrong I’d be a little wary too.

Does anyone know what the hell Atlus are doing with Etrian Odyssey? They posted a vague teaser about a next game years ago and then went even more silent than the SMT5 team.

As do I, friend, as do I.

I consider my Excel sheet to add the Dorian Grey effect to my collection. My collection is wonderfuul to look at, to play and to give satisfaction knowing I've got some amazing and rare titles... but if I ever look at the spreadsheet then that veneer is lost and replaced by the financial horror behind it.

I just finished the desert area. It's such a long area that I thought the next streamers would also be crazy long. Something about desert areas in games always halt the pace and this was no exception. Too many subareas.

it also depends on if you are taking your time looking for all the toads and secrets and everything I think

I'm looking for the toads, but I'm not obsessing about it. I'm going to replay the areas I missed some before going into the final area. Also going for the not-bottomless holes. Trophies and ? blocks are a bit whatever for me.

They went on full blast with releases on the 3DS so it is kinda weird we haven't heard much from them.
