Do you think Lockhart gets announced this month? Any guess why they keep waiting to announce it?

Seems related to their plans on showing XSX price, waiting on Sony, etc.

I wonder if its even a 2020 launch.

I got a confirmation of Lokchart in March? I think it was and even told people behind the scenes it was about to get revealed so I expected long before this.

I can see it getting pushed back now though

RTX cards (RTXIO) seems to use the GPU to offload the normal work the CPU has to do. Somewhat different approach.
That can supposedly 2x the raw I/O speed via compression, but will depend on what drive a user has.
Top of the line M.2 SSDs will be 7 GB/s.

Its all just different ways of using I/O to feed the system faster and eliminate bottlenecks.

PS5 is still best, and for now XSX is still better than RTXIO because there's a much lower baseline on PCs and thus games will have to be designed for SATA SSDs or even HDDs. PC games will not force users to have PCIe 3/4 SSDs for years. So for now, the XSX IO is still better than PC IO, and PS5 is even better.

Yeah from reading about it looks like the C9 needs a true HDMI 2.1 source to show the full VRR range for 4K, and a lot of reviewers, including rtings, didn’t have anything that outputs HDMI 2.1 to test with.

Well, Richard said if you already got a PC ( obviously a decent one with some average NVME SSD and average CPU ) you basically plug-in 3070, you'll got superior performance, and that is even before factorin DLSS

I think Microsoft wants to show Series S (Lockhart) after Sony says PS5 price. To undercut by ~ $100.

And they are waiting to say Series X price at the same time they show the Series S.

I think Sony are waiting to say PS5 price after Series X price.

Hence the silence so far. Its a loop.

I just know Digital Foundry said the C9 can only do 4K VRR up to 60 Hz.

And if you just want good enough, there will be $400 RTX 3060 that with DLSS will roughly match the consoles.

Really stupid question here, but these prices for the nividia cards are a lot cheaper than people suspected, is there a way to find out how much silicone really costs, as in, right now i can look up gold right or silver etc as a commodity and check its worth. by the ounce or the gram. You can't do that with silicon.

How do companies grade it, how do we know how much its worth, does it fluctuate day by day or what?

Is it all about yields?

Who sets these prices for said silicon, how do people decide what it's worth. How do we grade it?

Is it the same between companies?

Does Bo like camels sexually, all these mysteries to be solved.

I was not checking the social networks of Alex (was talking someone else) and I am not attacking
that guy he is much smarter and cult than most of the people that is why I am sure he knows a
couple of his opinions are wrong and sorry if I can understand from experience some things better
than a guy from youtube.

And if you think attacking is when someone check you social networks or be disagree with your opinions then
then problem is not the people is your thin skin.

I have no clue. Seems like its all a mix of who makes it, what the company wants to make in profit, amount of competition, the degree to which the chip is cutting edge tech, etc.

RTX 2000 was essentially over priced because it had ray tracing, but AMD had nothing that could do RT. Consoles neither.
Now AMD are putting out consoles and GPUs with RT, so Nvidia has competition and thus lowered prices to more normal levels.

Well you can look at the raw material cost but that's not accounting manufacturing cost, percentage of faulty units and R&D.
It's all a balance that can be greatly altered if you have lot of money and the desire to stay competitive.
