I'm glad they're sticking with Warzone as the free to play BR mode. Hope they grow that year on year.

It'd be a waste to kill off Warzone and create another one for every yearly game.

Infinity Ward's engine tech for MW looks a bit better though to me. I hope we see another MW game soon. Next gen only.

If it is, I still think me and kyliethicc guessed right on the general configuration, if not on the implementation. Damn them if they clamshelled 2+2GB instead of using a 4GB module!!!!

I have no idea if they could run 2 chips into the same 32 bit controller. I guess they could.

PS4 2013 launch model was supposed to be 4 GB. So they bought up half gig chips. 8 of them.
Then they decided PS4 would have 8 GB. So they had to add 8 more 0.5 GB chips.

So the launch PS4 with its 8 memory controllers and 256 bit bus had 8 chips on the board same side as SOC, and 8 more on the underside mirrored. Seems like it was the only way they could double the RAM on their board.

Maybe the Series S has a similar setup with 2x 2 GB chips with one each on each side of the board. So 4 controllers. and the 2 mirrored chips share controller hence the slow bandwith.

That's at the bottom back of the board. They showed that. The lower chassis has a bump just next to where the x clamp would run across the back of the MB, about where the lower right memory module exists on the front of the board. They may have clamshelled that one (like the early PS4 implementation) to avoid needing a 32Gb chip.

its a psychological thing. if you are trying to sell something, you dont want to be looking right at the camera all the time, it freaks people out. i think it comes across as preachy and people tune out.

I know this game isn't groundbreaking stuff, that it's a tired old Ubisoft rehash of the format (soft-RPG, soft effort that is, lol), but man I know I'll sink many hours on it and The Witcher 3!

And I'm secretly hoping for a patch for AC Odyssey/Origins, even if just unlocking framerates

Ps4 launched 2013 , at 399 which equivalent of 449 today. Ps5 is a much better hardware at 2020 vs ps4 at 2013.

The method might be inferior to the PS5 but the raw speed of the available SSDs on the PC will be higher. There is an SSD set to release that is reaching 7 GB/s later this year.

But if third party devs will really not take advantage of the PS5 I/O solution like many of you seem to think, then Cerny made some the wrong choices with the PS5.

This may be news to you, third party devs have no choice but to use the PS5 I/O solution , there is no way to bypass it as the PS5 is built around it. Infact its automatic, there's nothing special or complicated the devs need to do to initialize it, only way the PS5 I/O will run slow is if they intentionally gimp it

That is just sad the undefeated market leader has to resort to those tactics. That is why many of us miss Andrew House and his guys. He did not play shadow games against a incompetent opponent he was straight up and kicked ass. Sony should of had the guts to set the market price and say this is the PS5 it kicks ass buy it on this date at this price.

That will be great in an ideal world, but if your opponent is doing everything they can to undermine you then these are things one has to resort to... If they are playing dirty then you will have to get your hands dirty too to survive, level the playing field as they say (I guess we're talking about the same thing?)
