Couple of things wanted to point out from a few pages ago, Ghost of Tsushima wasn't downgraded, rather artistic decisions led to a few things looking different. But the final retail version is just as good if not better than the E3 2018 gameplay demo. Even NX gamer himself confirmed that!

I get the feeling that with all those PS5 marketing things starting to show up around the globe and on internet, Sony was indeed planning to make some announcements this week but MS cut ahead through the non controlled leak and decided to go all out. That might have made Sony decide to postpone for another couple of weeks or so? Surely there must be somekind of agreement about spotlight "time" between Microsoft and Sony? it would be not good for any one of them to make these kind of announcements in the same week. Someone @ Microsoft took the "consolewar" theme a little too serious and "unintentionally" broke the agreement? i feel that besides all the online "warring" going on, the likes of Phil and Ryan are very friendly and respectfull to eachother and may end up enjoying lunch now and then.

It’s absolutely ridiculous to leave the One S/X on sale. There can’t be anyone with a brain in their head that doesn’t think this. The confusion from parents and grandparents will be everywhere. And all it takes is a few of them talking to each other over how confusing it is to persuade their friends to buy the other guy’s console. This is basic, basic stuff in marketing. Like, first day on the job basic. You can’t just transfer the production and release style of a completely different consumer item (phones) and expect it to work for you

Not only regarding marketing and messaging but also with the type of games they make. We just went through a generation where big publishers such as EA didn't deliver a product that I can call a videogame.

thats fine, it is your personal preference, I for example own most of Sony first party games (purchased based on recommendations) and barely played any as I find these extremely similar to each other and boring (i do prefer ps3 sony first party output, most felt fresh, not as repetitive as this gen) that’s why ps5 is mid gen purchase for me

one thing i wanted to raise is that I do understand that hype around remasters eg. Demon souls, zero excitement, to be honest I am never excited about remasters, i prefer new games

I am not sure that your logic is sound, Spider-Man as a brand is much bigger than R&C so it should be used to promoted new console vs R&C that lots of people might Not be be familiar with, we have seen 100s of concern posts here asking to see games actually running on xbsex, we should have same concern re. Not seeing any gameplay from Spider-Man approx. 2 months before launch.

well they showed spiderman running on a ps5 devkit sdd a year ago when was it? thats showed they had the engine running. i loved the ps4 version so much. i will double dip for sure...

Better to show quality (story driven games) than "variety" if it means mediocre games.

And these "cinematic" games offer different stories&worlds = huge variety.

Different tastes, I know. I bought all gears games for 360 years ago, started to play them and got so bored with lame "cover shoot 1000 enemies" shit that no thanks, then I sold them. I got bored in Uncharted 1-3 too because of the same cover shoot thing, so im not biased by console.

Claiming that PS4 doesnt have wide variety of games is just plain wrong.

Don't argue with these guys , they don't want games. Last they did this week is telling iD software guy not to make games for Xbox.
Xbox fanboys do not want either exclusives or 3rd party games. They want to buy xbox, subscribe to game pass, put them on the shelve to collect dust and sit on Twitter/gaf/era and troll people.

Also WTF about them spreading this FUD around playstation having "Cinematic" games. They are trying to convince people that playstation games are cut scenes with QTEs to change dialogue as if playstation have an exclusive called Tell me Why..... Oooopps

Possibly, but the speed at which things were released to the public indicates that the leak was coordinated. Corporations like Microsoft are bloated, slow moving entities, where everything has to be checked with multiple departments before it is allowed out. If it had been a few days to a week before we had confirmations, I’d be willing to accept it was accidental... but we had stuff in hours. An awful lot of it. Including advertising space which requires booking, and communication with influencers which requires both vetting and proper organising.

Look, people can believe Microsoft here, and they are free to ignore what I’m saying, but I’ve worked in the communications departments of three major companies now, one on Microsoft’s level, and trust me... this was a deliberate leak.
