this is a example that Sony is ripping off people with a $70 remaster. This a brand new game for less.
From this moment and on, I will consider every single person who refers to the Demon's Souls Remake as a 'remaster' to be either ignorant of what a remaster is, or simply trolling.

You CANNOT look at Demon's Souls on the PS5 and think it's a remaster or even worse, a port. This is trolling to its most insulting form.

They need to fire the guy who give their products names

They're calling it Shock Blue because it's going to shock the world when they announce that they've bought Sega at TGS. The color of the controller is even the exact same color code as the Sega logo. Coincidence? This is probably another fun little call back easter egg they can point out later like when Phil had a Series S on his shelves behind him in the video.

Yep. Same here. I’ll probably buy a Series X once they put out a game I want to play on it. Missed the pre order, but then their launch line up is pretty bad, so happy to hold off until the right game comes along.
Agreed. Advantage of getting a Series X is to play the majority of game releases on Game Pass saving you lots of money. Of course this is hoping the games you want to play are on Game Pass to begin with. Anyway you've got the majority of titles covered there. As for PS5, I figure I can save a little buying the Digital Edition and use it purely for exclusives. My brother is probably getting a Series X first, so I'll have to touch base with him. We haven't gamed together in a long time, but with the way these systems are flying off the shelves it may not be until next year at this point.

Still need to upgrade my TV. Leaning toward an LG 55' CX. I really hate having to worry about burn-in, though. I'm just constantly disappointed in full-array LED sets. Still waiting on TCL's Vidrian sets to come out. Depending on how they review, I may pick that up instead.

The Bloodborne remaster both interests and worries me. On the plus side, much of cut content may be added to the original game. However, what if this is similar to the Spider-Man remaster situation, i.e. you need to buy the remaster even though you already have a copy of the original Bloodborne?

Reuse what? Have you seen the original Demon's Souls? The quality difference in models, textures....well, everything is lightyears apart when comparing the original to the remake. A lot of people seem to confuse the terms "remaster" and "remake". A remaster of Demon's Souls would be pointless, because it would be a slight upres to assets, slightly better lighting, and locked 60fps. This is a full on remake from the ground up that Bluepoint has been making for years. Of course it's going to be full price, and from people's reactions, it's obviously a system seller.

Bloodborne is love.

Bloodborne is life.

Buy it again, and thank the Gods for a remaster.

Its remaster not upgraded BC version.
I'm sure you will need to buy it again.

So if Microsoft buys Sega, how many more studios would they have? They've already got 23 now, I wonder if they'll keep buying more and more studios until they can have almost 30.

If their games average 3-4 years of development, they could have 6-10 games coming out every year with that many studios. Perfect way to keep Game Pass subs.

Please don't hurt me I just want to play video games...

How much more do you guys think SEGA would cost to MS?
If Zenimax was 7.5B, can you grasp it?

Even considering SEGA is insane.

They can't buy the parent company "Sega Sammy Holdings" and would not want to.

Sammy would have to divest itself of SEGA, for MS to buy it.

edit: on second thought, market capitalization is around $3 billion??? I don't get it. That's not very much.

The Sega deal is for Japan market, they can easily rename the console for that market and make it see like Sega is back to the console business...

I'm in the same boat. Definitely getting a PS5, but with everything Microsoft is doing I may pick up a Series X as well. Series X for Game Pass and PS5 Digital for exclusives. Also, I need a new TV. Gonna be a pricey next couple of months.
To be honest time is my biggest problem that is why gamepass does not suit me.That is why I go with PlayStation where the quality and big hitters are a guarantee and play them when ever I have time without worrying about subscriptions.

Those people can't see that Demon's souls PS3 look better than craig infinte let alone the remake.

I dont care about SEGA at all. Beside alien isolation never played anything from them. Im almost sure MS is buying them.
You either are not old enough or don't know if the game was a part of their studios.
I don't get what makes people think Sega somehow shrunk, but they are still big in Japan.
PSO2 alone makes them enough money to go on for a long while.

There are arcades, studios (some mobile focused/arcade focused) and several IPs with them. Atlus is also one of the studios. It baffles me, really.

Unbelievable. Since this game came out, more people have died of flu's, etc. NOW all of a sudden it's insensitive to remind people that people die from sickness? I just....whatever. I mean, it doesn't affect me...just seems...unnecessary. And yes, I know people, have people in my family that have died from Covid-19 so don't go there. Maybe it helps that my situation was due to a State government that literally put infected people into a nursing home...where it was free to attack those most vulnerable to this bug but still... I'm just done with everything on Twitter dictating what companies and organizations do, I guess.
I'm sorry to hear that man, it has been a nightmare... Just wanted to get us pumped up for some TLOU 2 news but will be mindful of content related to this madness we all facing

If Microsoft bought sega, id say sony is in deep, deep trouble. The Zenimax purchase alone has tremendous Implications. But a one two punch just like that? Insanity. In some ways sony has no one to blame but themselves. They couldve owned square soft back in the day and let fromsoft ware slip through their hands too.
What blockbusters has Sega had recently, Yakuza? I think the only draw of that acquisition would be MS doing remakes of their arcade classics like Sega Rally, Daytons, Virtua Tennis, VF, and more. But I don't know if Sega of today is the same Sega of yesteryear, and some of those games I wouldn't expect to be of the same quality without the original greats at the helm, like Yu Suzuki. And he's still somehow thinks Shenmue will become a thing. Some of these game acquisition ideas are more rooted in nostalgia than practicality IMO. Bethesda at least made sense, as it fits the Xbox demo, and bolsters GP. Sega lost its cachet a long, long time ago.

I just read though some of their annual report, and I was under the impression that Sammy's Pachinko was the vast majority of their business, but it's not. It's 1/3 with SEGA driving most of the rest of the revenue.

At a market cap of only $3 billion, MS could easy buy them, and could divest/spinoff the pachinko business, if they did not want that.

SEGA gaming products are doing very well for the company.

they still reusing the script and other things.

I think Sony need to understand that a game coming also on PC and only have the console exclusivity is not a big argument. it's meaningful if the game only come to your platform if it's not the case it just a waste of resources who can be spend better elsewhere.

So? What the fuck does that prove?

How much is Doom selling NOW? How much does Elder Scrolls sell NOW?
I doubt that Elder Scrolls now sells at all. It's 9 years old game.
When the next game will come out it will be well over decade since last classic Elder Scrolls game came out, and many games, even the best games of their times, did not survive such a long wait in the past. It's just not in touch with the market anymore.

I love how everyone is getting frustrated about not being able to secure a preorder from retailers, while my country is simply trying to secure retailers that might one day offer preorders. :pie_disappointed:

Y'all and your first world problems. I'm fully prepared to wait until the new year to land a PS5. I might have to schedule a visa run to Japan, for the express purpose of ganking a box.

I can send you one from here, if interested. PM for details. It should cost around $600-650 total with shipping, or more, depending on your locations. It's sold for $559 here, and when sent it can be sent as "gift" to avoid VAT when you receive it. We need to know how much it weighs with the box though.

It should be cheaper getting it from your country, though.
