This is EMBARASSING Crytek: Crysis Remastered vs. Crysis Enhanced Mod

They sold me that garbage for $20 on Epic Store thank you very much, NOT 30 Squiggles.

And TBH, the game at High Settings at 3440x1440 runs at just about as close to a locked 60 I've ever gotten with Crysis. To me the graphics are fine, they've always been good, so it's not like the game was exactly crying for better visuals. It's the small gameplay changes from the Original Game to the Remaster that bug me the most. No quick suit mode changes with double taps, no leaning, no POM, speed mode being gimped, unable to bind controls to suit modes if you use classic suit mode. It just doesn't do the very basic things the original already did, and the "enhancements" don't really enhance the experience.

Look at this shit. LOOK AT IT! And they want to sell you this garbage for 30€ on Epic Game Store.

Ray-traced my ass

They even get better FPS in the mod

What did you expect from the developer that's so broke that they had to try to steal gamers' money from the crowdfunding of another developer? 😂

Vanilla Crysis is still my favourite tbh it has the best colour tone, it's only let down by the textures really. Mods change that shit too much from my experience.

There are mods and mods... some just fix the texture streaming to high res.

Not sure what you're going for with this thread. The 'enhanced' version looks different, not necessarily better. Not only that, is the 'enhanced' version optimized?
Look at the frames. Whether it's optimized or not (however you choose to quantify that is beyond me), the "enhanced" version gets better FPS than the remaster. So I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here.

I think vanilla looks better but sharpening on that mod is ugly af. Someone went crazy with the slider

Lighting looks way better on the remaster, SSR tho it's weird, you would assume that it was faster to slap Ray Tracing reflections and call it a day instead despite performance.

This thread is a carbon copy of what happened with Skyrim, but we all know mods push things further than remasters do.

Having said that, if what OP says about framerates is true it's impressive, but you also have to remember that like #7 said mods mess with an art style. They had to stay true to the game while making their improvements.

Not saying they couldn't have done more, because I'm not an expert.

So you wasted the $10 off voucher?

Usually the problem with mods that PC elitists love to talk about.

The graphics look good, better in a lot of places. The real problem is frame rate and that the game was ported from the console versions. No leaning, Reduced physics, missing level etc.

I prefer the lighting of the remaster. That "enhanced" version screams old PC plain lighting. Something, I know, a lot of people like. The same people that hates post effects like motion blur, chromatic aberration, etc.

Looks really good and the gameplay is very good as well. I'll never gonna deny that, the graphics on TLOUS2 is great, but the game have a trash story.
In this remaster case they made Crysis worst than the original. Is more like a cash grab.
You just hate gay people. Admit it.

Comparing something made by a company with a limited budget and time constraints versus a group of enthusiasts that have basically unlimited spare time to work on this isn't exactly fair. How many years has this Enhanced mod been in the making?

I prefer to much cleaner look of at the remastered version. Taking photos of the real world is one thing, creating an atmosphere that isn't too busy/distracting/over cluttered is another.

I don't know what mode Remastered was in when doing those comparisons but Remastered definitely looks better than Enhanced just with the lighting alone. Yes, it is RT and it's highly accurate too. The textures also do not look that low res (not sure if they are using 8k texture mode). The Enhanced version suffers from tiling textures. You can see the repeats. That indicates they didn't redo the entire texture like REmake does. REmake is the best looking version of the Crysis line objectively speaking. All the other bugs and lack of features do take points away from it, but there is no denying that the GI/AO and the 8k textures alone bump this game up above all of them.

Some parts looks better in the enhanced mod, others look worse.

Either way, based on the digital foundry video it seems like the biggest issue of the definitive edition is that it's based on the Ps3/360 port. Meaning missing features, a missing level, worse controls, worse physiscs, etc.

Lol what? Comparing a professionally made product that's being sold for a profit with a fan made mod some people made on their free time for free is unfair now?
