Things like enemy placement, not enough of them etc.

Will bluepoint stick to 100% recreating a faithful remake or will they tinker a bit, add some extra content, paths, doors, etc, secrets,

was a shadow of the colossus an identical remake or was there anything different extra in it?

You can not really use the values from the article, because the OG PS4 used a 28nm process, while the PS5 uses a 7nm process. Therefore your numbers are too high for the PS5

For example, the GPU of the XSX is 47% of the 360mm2 XSX SoC, which is about 170mm2. This is much smaller then the size you calculated for the PS5 GPU, which should be smaller then the XSX GPU.

Ok went to Carrefour Salalah an hour ago to buy groceries, then checked if I can preorder another controller and the charging station alone, and I can! All accessories are available for preorder separately.

Bought them for a total of 45.800 OMR ($119.08 USD). The guy told me that they have 170 PS5 consoles, and preorders are around 85 so far from this shop. Might cancel my preorder on another shop and get it from here. He told me it'll be here in 20th of November. There is enough room for many preorders, but seems like not so many people are aware of it here, or they prefer to get it when released. The whole region, Dhofar, is ~460K people though.

Asked about Xbox Series X|S and he told me they won't sell it. As said before, no one gives a fuck about xbox here, you can still get it from some niche shops.

Asked about the Sony Bravia XH90 (X9000H here, X900H in the US), and it's around 359 OMR for 55" ($1041) and 559 OMR for 65" ($1453). It's slightly cheaper from another shop, but told me that around the national day there will be some nice discounts, around 18th of November! So perfect timing.

No VAT though, we still don't have that. All preorders are paid upfront, full price.

Congrats man! That's a good load amount of Consoles on preorder. They are staggering the amount of preorders here in the states lol. 170 at one time where you are versus 6-7 at a time on a weekly basis here. Did they say that's all they're going to get for now until launch?

I think it will be same for DmS, unless they'll add the cut content from the original game (which would be a very nice surprise, we'll see I guess)

Well, the USA has like a population of 331 million, Oman is only 5.1 million! It's the same case around PS4 release, although first batch soldout in few hours, you could still get yours in a day or 3.

But we need to know the exact weight of the box, if it's 6kg then it's 32.200 OMR (65.62 pounds) for shipping. No taxes if sent as "gift", but some countries have some dodgy rules, so be sure first. Lets say the size i calculated my numbers as 28 nm.
So, 286 mm sq. divided by 4 = 71.5 mm sq. for the GPU.
XBSX is 170mm2 like you said and has 40% more CUs.
40% of 71 mm sq. is 100.1 mm sq. which is far from XBSX 170 mm sq.

Or you could take away 40% from 170 mm sq.
Which is 102 mm sq. for the PS5 GPU.

This is just speculation And my Math could be off.
So don't take any of this too serious.

Most people who are saying there's a big difference are Xbox fans. NX Gamer and others have said the difference is not big but this gets ignored for obvious reasons.

The reason why RTX 3090 can do 8K gaming MUCH better than a RTX 3080 is due to video memory. It's 10GB vs 24GB. The higher resolution you have, the more VRAM is generally required.



You can look here and see that several games require more than 10GB of VRAM, exceeding the amount of the RTX 3080, but more than enough for the RTX 3090.

Both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 both have 16GB worth if shared memory. Xbox Series X has a split memory and the Playstation 5 doesn't.

You can look at the TF difference and know that the gap is bigger between the RTX 3090/ 3090 vs the PS5 and XsX and yet many people say the performance difference between RTX 3090/3080 is not that big

RTX 3090 is the smart way to go if I ever upgrade. 24GB VRAM is wonderful for many things besides gaming in 8K.

Xbox isn't even sold here to begin with by the biggest shops, not even Xbox One. So don't put "worldwide" with xbox in the same line. Very few shops bring xbox, I believe from the US market but the demand is extremely low for them. Most people here aren't aware of PS5 preorders as it seems, talked to some friends and they seemed surprised. Overall, we get enough consoles that meet the demand here due to being a small country (5.1M).

I think they might get rid of world and character tendency. That was never really a well thought out or well implemented mechanic.

I think Xbox will be fine, the bosses have had units in their homes for almost an entire year now so problems should have been flagged up. But I'm not convinced by PS5. This cooling tech seems to be very space age what with metallic paste or something.

well after the disastrous reception to an actual high quality port with revamped assets, character models, facial animations, hair and lighting, i doubt sony is greenlighting any more of these remasters.

devs will just do the standard 4k 60 fps port, release a quick and dirty patch, and call it a day. thank you, outrage mob, you entitled cunts just cost us some great looking ports.

Problem is they should have shown footage to cut the crap, and they talk about the details at a later stage. They should blame themselves for the lack of footage of the remastered that would've made much more excitement than disappointment/drama. Of all the companies in the game, Microsoft learned the hardest lesson about cooling. The Xbox 360's RROD was a billion dollar problem stemming from thermal issues (thermal paste issues due to the internal heat of the components, if memory serves). They'll push the hardware, but only up until a point. I suspect cooler hardware with a wider, slower pipe will be Microsoft's strategy moving forward, because it ensures heating remains under control. The PS5 needs close to 40% more volume in its case to get the GPU clock speeds it has - and its still 20% behind the Xbox Series X in theoretical performance. Cerny knows his stuff, no question, but Microsoft have seen what happens when you get it wrong.

And performance wise MS doesn’t need to, it’s 12 TF with 560 GBs memory bandwidth . Sustained so why run hot? Ps5 is Japanese Suzuki with 1.4 liter turbo. XSX is usa muscle care with V12. Both perform but differently . I prefer it runs without all the tuning . Less strain on everything.

I'm curious ... if RDNA2 allows such high-clocking ... why didn't MS did the same with the Series X which would produce even MORE TFs at higher clock speeds, especially since it's 'safe' to do so? They couldn't invest as much on a solid cooling solution? And if that high-clocking on the PS5 is 'normal' for RDNA2, why DOES it need a custom-made high quality cooling solution?

Supersampling is the opposite of what you're talking about. What you mean is upsampling/upscaling. The UE5 demo showcased Unreal's own Screen percentage temporal upsample (Tc). And different technologies tend to have different names because they all do different things.
DLSS 2 currently sports superior image quality to checkerboard rendering, and is slightly above temporal upsampling, being near indistinguishable from a native 4K output.

I'm pretty sure Sony will have a DLSS competitor relatively soon considering gaming and imaging are one of their brand new AI division's flagship projects.
