I kind of did something similar -- took off from my wife and spent a few weeks in Vegas living in a suite -- but at least I spent the money on myself.

It's crazy how much coddling he's getting that thread. It's not his fault, this would have happened no matter one according to Kyuuji, etc. Yes, he got scammed but he also purposefully allowed himself to get scammed because he was "lonely". This isn't some giant con that "could have happened to anyone".

On one hand, its hard not to feel sorry for someone who got conned and its difficult to fathom the audacity of the douchebag who seems to have zero qualms about fleecing someone this badly. On the other, this shit was obvious as fuck and OP needs to take responsibility for falling for such a brazen con and ruining their own life. Saying "personal accountability" is like dropping a racial slur over there to the detriment of Era's own users.

It would not have happened if he was a healthy individual who isn't looking for happiness and validation in others. I remember that poster from the old neogaf days and he was very depressed back then too and it seems like not much has changed. He absolved himself with the "it's common for us gays" line, the "daddy" thing might be a sexual kink for some women and gays, but it really isn't that common to get scammed in that way. Hope he actually gets professional help and works on himself.

I think it's most they're just shitty, angry, depressed people that no one wants to be around. So they think they can just spend money to have someone like them but refuse to realize that if someone is that receptive to being friends only while you pay for stuff then it's likely not a good relationship in the first place. It's sad and you feel bad for them but it took you until 15k to realize there was an issue? Everyone makes mistakes but the depths they always go is unreasonable. It's even more pathetic too since apparently he doesn't have a job and needs to take classes to try and get one.

Edit: Also, even if you were late to realizing you got ripped off you can still demand some of the physical items back and try to dig yourself somewhat out of your absurd 15k hole.

OK, follow this through. He has a Polaroid taken of them together by a street photographer and has to go to the ATM to pay for it. The friend is no longer there so the Polaroid is in his possession, no way he's going to go to the trouble of getting cash and then say forget it to the photographer.Young French actor.

Here's where the lie falls apart, "I didn't find a way to do that". That picture was in his pocket, he was posting on his phone, take a photo of the Polaroid and upload it. He plays it off here like he's respecting peoples privacy but really it's because he does not want to expose himself creeping on potentially underage dudes.
