It looks good, I just hope once and for all the game stops looking like a cartoon. Perhaps raytracing will help with this.

NGL, Dame is great for commercials. Reminds me of Blake Griffin a few years back.. very charismatic

2k21 looks more of the same.. just sweatier I guess lol

I will never forget 2k sending me a code for 2k20 for free like two months after the game came out in hopes I’d spend $ on vc, before this I had bought 2k every year since 2013. They are so scummy and predatory with their micro transactions I couldn’t help but laugh at them and not install it.

Wow, I wish I got that deal. Been buying 2k since 2k8 and I’ve routinely spent 400-500 bucks a year. I’m probably a mini whale or something so I dont get the same treatment. lol

This game is a former shell of itself I skipped 2K20 and so glad I did I felt ripped off when I paid $39 for 2K19 last year. They've gone from being not EA and trying to create a better product to 2Konami with the gambling mechanics in the game. Just disappointed EA Sports haven't got their act together in really funding the game and not just focus on "The One" mode they did with Live 18 and 19. Live 18 had some promise as I remember play testing it back in May 2017 and the game was so much fun and had a lot of improvements but the retail release lost some of that fun I dunno why or how or who they had influence the game to change enough to lose that spark it had. Even after all the years I've had speaking to developers and the Executive Producers for both NBA Live and NBA2K they just seem to want to not address or fix the glaring issues in both their games.

Dude it confused me so bad, I thought it was a scam at first but then I looked on twitter and shit and I wasn't the only one... so bizarre.

so we'll still be in the current season when this drops I guess? Won't even have the appeal of new rosters.

With every new NBA 2K release, I wonder the same thing - why does this game look worse than NBA 2K14? I mean, the animations and faces may have improved, but the lighting back then was off the charts and made the game look so much better. I guess the resources went towards monetizing the franchise to high hell.

Hopefully, they release a next-gen trailer as impactful as this one was years ago;

I remember being absolutely floored by this and watching it over and over...and somehow the actual game lived up to this visually.

they definitely peaked at 2K14 visually. I remember my facescan turned out so well 2K used it as I had to sign a persmission form from 2K to permit them to use it. 2K17 was kind of the last 1 I enjoyed playing and taht was because myself and a few NLSC (NBA-Live Series Center) members got in to team Pro-Am and played 521 games. 2K18 we only played 120 2K19 less than 30 from what I know I bought the ame late when it was AUS$39 and felt ripped off and skipped 2K20 even when it was free on PS+

Day one.
And when it is ready on my drive to play - I am paying $100 to upgrade my player to 85+OVR.
I want to achive 95OVR - in 2k19 I have a player of 92OVR.

It's 2k Sport , all they cared are monetization nowadays . The game still looks the same , players are still gliding on the floor .

Maybe they already achieved what they could achieve on current gen hardware and everything since then has been minor tweaks because they have to put out *something*. It's not like with FIFA/PES where their games barely look better than previous gen until 2 or 3 years into the cycle. NBA 2K14 was one of those games I used back in the day to show my family "Hey look how powerful this console is" despite not really enjoying basketball games.

Perhaps, but I can't think of another franchise of sports games that has regressed visually quite like that. They should have tweaked it with the existing lighting engine and worked from there...and yeah, I did something similar. I brought my PS4 and 2K14 over to a friend's house when it came out, and it convinced him to buy the system, despite not being a bball fan at all.

Played the demo, was fun.......really want to see the next gen version. Though based on this forum, since it was developed for multiple machines, its hot garbage cus you know, developers are incapable of getting good graphics out of the new machines if they have to make more than one version.....🙄

It's different. They've been releasing the same game for the last 7 years so they had plenty of time to work on a next-generation installment.

If there is a sports game to avoid this year its NBA 2k21. The least done in any sports game from the previous year in video game history. Beats EA with Madden.

Anyone play the demo yet? Is it good?

Are they going to give free VC to everyone who chooses to sit out every time a protest happens?

I enjoyed it, just another refinement to an otherwise excellent game. Now, as I stated before, really hoping the next gen version drops the "cartoon" look. Motion capture/ animation is fantastic.

AceTheFace would have them rip it down and start from scratch apparently, we all see how well that worked out for nba live....

Just going to wait for the next gen version because of 2K charging $100 for the current gen one that comes with next gen.

I'm confused, it releases in 42 days which means its basically gold now, why couldn't they at least give as a 4k trailer with this tweet?

Its mostly likely coming in the second week of October, They are still pushing the current gen versions.
