If You could live anywhere else, where would it be?

Imagine that you are fed up with your life where you live at the moment and need change. Or that you have won the lottery and can afford to live in the place of your dreams. Or that some unfortunate events force you to leave your place of residence. Or any other reason that would make you want to move.

The world is yours, you do not have to worry about visas, job or money. Where would you choose to live ? Which continent, which country, which city ?

I would love to live in several parts of Europe, like Venice, Italy and Nice, France. Maybe somewhere in the Netherlands. I would love to live in London because it's a very diverse city. If I could live in Asia, I would move to Hong Kong or a city in Japan, probably Osaka. I would even enjoy living in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai in particular. There's a lot of places I would choose to live.

Definitely an island. Populated or not, doesn't matter. Feeling surrounded by ocean in every direction is really peaceful. City life used to be tons of fun and excitement, but nowadays I want to get far away from that environment.

No island in particular, I have few places in the Caribbean, southwestern Europe, Africa, Australia or Micronesia in mind

Naaah, Munich is the best place in the world, and I am happy here.
I tried living somewhere else (Tokyo, around 2001) for a year and a half, and it was shit after a while.

I always dreamed about living on some hot island, like in the Carribean or the Seychelles.
Until I actually went there.
It's fun for two weeks, but imagining being there in that humid hot weather all year long, I'd get crazy.

No thanks.

I’d like to live somewhere in Japan. Not sure if it’d be Tokyo, though. I have just always been infatuated with the culture. I would like to learn Japanese and honestly, if I could learn fluent Japanese and afford to live there the rest of my days, I would. I feel like that is where I belong in this world for some reason.

I went for 3 weeks last summer. Coming back home was extremely hard. I was actually mildly depressed for a while upon returning. When I go back I'm not sure I'll go back home.

I envy you. It must have been hard coming back home. It must be a wonderful place to be. I can only imagine how beautiful and awe inspiring it truly is.

Of all the places I visited (from UK).

Thailand (first wife was from the land of smiles), Berlin and Santorini in Greece (got married there).

Oh and how could I forget Ibiza! :p

Realistically, southern USA. Somewhere not too far from the beach. It's just a more blissful life.

I don't think I would ever move to a foreign country. It's really not impossible for a lot of people to do so now, financially. It's just a lot to up a move away from everyone you know, learn a new culture/language, take on a different career, etc. If I did, probably Italy or Thailand.

I would stay in Florida. I would move to the West Coast of the state though, maybe somewhere around Naples or Bonita Springs. Warm all year round, big house next to the beach, feel the sea breeze and smell the ocean. That's pure bliss for me!

Already did it (Japan and still here for better or worse) now I'd like to go and live in Taiwan or somewhere a bit more tropical like that. Before all the shit kicked off there Hong Kong too. People saying Japan here make me cringe. Probably it reminds me of my own pathetic weebery.

I want to experience the INSANE cultire of Japan

Lived here for a few years as a child, it's beautiful and has a small town feel but is ridiculously expensive.

I honestly dont think I would leave the states unless things really turned sour here. There is just a unique mix of cultures and topography that I havent seen replicated anywhere else in my travels.

Maui would be nice but the island might be too limited. Colorado around the Silverton area would be amazing but it practically snows in during the winter.
