The official text is just a get-out clause so they aren't responsible if someone records you while saying naughty things in party chat and gets you "cancelled" or whatever as a result.

Basically, its a boilerplate "we imply no privacy in chat" declaration.

Good. Some stupid kids ruin what are otherwise enjoyable parties. This might make games like FIFA more enjoyable online, as you can just report the dumbass who keeps shouting racist shit over and over. You can't always get a group of friends together for certain games, and public chats are a necessity. But there are far too many unsupervised kids allowed to carry on like dicks, when all the rest of us want to do is communicate team strategy properly via voice chat. I wonder if this has been an option for a while, or if it's just new.

It mentions the example of users sending in the recordings, but the agreement is simpler: you may be recorded. It doesn't confirm Sony is recording you, you're just agreeing to let them do it without notice.
