First backwards compatible games you want to try on the new systems?

What will be the first backwards compatible titles you try on your new systems?

I'll list my top 5 for each

PS5:
1. Final Fantasy VIIRemake - Quick test here to see if anything has improved while it's still fresh in mind. Will Cloud's apartment door still have a N64 texture?
2. The Last Guardian - Saved for a first playthrough. IIRC it couldn't quite handle 4K 30fps on PS4 Pro so it will be nice if it at least irons that out.
3. Astro Bot Rescue Mission - Saved for a first playghrough. Gotta test how PSVR works and probably should play this before the one that comes with PS5.
4. Gravity Rush Remastered - Saved for a first playthrough. Probably no enhancements but I saved it anyway and it's been near top of my queue for too long.
5. Bloodborne - Saved for a first playthrough. I hear good things except for the framerate. Lets see how it turns out.

XSX:
1. Dead or Alive 6 - Digital Foundry already beat me too it, but I want to see the 4K 60fps boobs for myself.
2. Blue Dragon - It never got enhanced for One X and has some terrible aliasing. Really hope they managed to brute force double the resolution like they've been talking about.
3. Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris - This game has terrible performance all around. I'm not even sure XSX will be enough to stabilize it. It will be a true test.
4. Mad Max - This has some of the worst input lag I've come across. Lets's see if their attempts to alleviate that stuff helped any because this is a cool game besides that.
5. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Saved for a first playthrough. Unless it improves from the prototype footage it doesn't seem to lock at 60fps but it's still way better than before and I'm not waiting for the Pro consoles to play it.

Plus tons more for both but those are the ones I want to try out first. Basically I would be happy if both systems launched with 0 games.

Haven't a clue if they are compatible or not but I hope the following will be compatible and upgraded on the series S or X....

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Outrun 2
Burnout 2
Crazy Taxi 3
Metal Arms Glitch in the System
Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary/Underworld
Rise/Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Ridge Racer 6
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

PS5 - Division 2, TLOU1, WWE 2K19.
I know that Div2 is a live service game, but I have go know if the PS5 loads these games any faster than they are on PS4 straight away, the load screens are torturous.

XBSX - Stubbs The Zombie
This would only work on my PAL 360 if I changed the screen to 60hz. Sold it, but just re-bought it. Genuinely curious if I can get this running on XBSX

No Man's Sky.

I was trapped at 30fps on PS4 Slim. I'd love to play it at 60fps. It was unlocked on Pro/OneX, so I expect it to be locked 60 on next gen consoles.

  • Dark Souls III
  • The Forest
  • God of War 2018
  • The Evil Within 2
Basically, anything that has an unlocked frame rate or a PS5 patch/features. I’ll be getting DMC 5 SE too.

I'm not going to play that many older titles, save for ones with new content, updates, ones I skipped, or ones that have online I enjoy.

I'll be playing several multiplayer games like Siege and Fall Guys
Watch Dogs Legion which will also get the co-op online update in December
Ghost of Tsushima with the Legends content update

I bought Dead Cells the other day and I've actually been waiting to play it on PS5 just because I'm uncertain how the saves will work, and I don't want to have to redo weeks of progress because I had to restart it.

Pretty much everything on Xbox one. I’ve always had the looming feeling of, “this game feels like it would look and run better on pc,” this gen. I’m excited to get way better performance playing all the Xbox one titles on the series x.

I just want to see tekken 7 not being 720p. Might actually replay A.C Unity. Gears5 already looks could and they still didn't add motion blur like the reveal trailer had, so screw that game. I want to see if Arkham knight has less aliasing.

I guess it'll be Ghost of Tsushima. I haven't played it yet, so a few months into having a PS5, I'll finally check it out with really nice setting compared to if I had played it on PS4 already.

Can anyone tell me if I buy cyber punk 2077 digitally on ps4 will it be able to work on the ps5 before the upgrade is out for it?? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Looking forward to trying Ori 2 and Control for the first time with all the new bells and whistles

Also curious to see what improvements, if any, we see in Rock Band 4, a couple thousand DLC tracks later and that game has become quite sluggish on startup on current gen.

Actually I would like to try the pro‘s performance and quality modes on ps5 to see how the framerate holds up.
About Monster Hunter World: Not sure about PS4 Pro, but on my One X it's not great. Want to say its varieties between 30-60, even when just walking around in Astera.

Excited for Series X if it can have a solid 60.

I'm getting a ps5 first for demon souls but I can bet there won't be enhanced games like series x except a handful maybe , on the other hand forza horizon 4 at 4k 60 will be mind boggling , would love to see atleast tlou2 at 4k 60 or ghost of tsushima at 4k 60

All the split/shared screen games I play together with my six year old. Too many to list but Halo MCC is one, he loves that game. Perhaps some Lego games. I'm a PC gamer so most other stuff I'll play there.

all the games that would benefit from the Series X hardware,

like,
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
the framerate mode should now lock to 60fps finally!

I would say Control, but the changes will only be about the framerate, because the publisher expects you to buy the Ultimate Edition to get proper PS5 upgrades (which of course I won't do).

4. Mad Max - This has some of the worst input lag I've come across. Lets's see if their attempts to alleviate that stuff helped any because this is a cool game besides that.
Rage 2 was way worse with the input lag, at least on the base PS4 model. I really struggled to enjoy the game because of it.
