Timeline.

- CDPR says Reviewers can't talk or show about console version of Cyberpunk 2077.
- CDPR says Reviewers can't talk about the bug fest storm.
- CDPR says to Reviewers the day one patch will fix most of the bug fest storm.
- Reviewers gives 10/10 to an unfinished game.
- CDPR releases a huge "8 million preorders" PR to impress investors.
- CDPR releases Cyberpunk 2077 $60 Early Access.

They knows the thing will be bad.
And MC is yet to show reviews for the console versions, critics and user scores will be a train wreck.

To know Cyberpunk 2077 will be nominated for GOTY next year even after launching in such a poor state is a slap in the face of every dev who works hard to deliver a good product.

Well they had no chance in 2020 due all the issues.
If they fix these issues into 2021 it will probably be GOTY content... so awards that put him in 2021 contest are doing a really great service for the game.

Were they the only studio having issues? And this game has been in development for 8 years, after all this time they didn't show a single image or video from the console versions. That's misleading at best.

Nope.

But the level of critical bugs is not seems in most of games releases today.
You can maybe compare it with Battlefield 4 at PS4/XB1 launch.
Or somehow with FFXV.

Outside these I don't remember any similar case.

For example Days Gones was crushed by reviewers due the bugs that where no where close to what are we seeing with Cyberpunk 2077.

I agree it was misleading market but I hope they fix all versions.

Perfect Dark was worth staying up for, hyped to the max😎

People like this are why CG trailers are still a thing. Until we as consumers demand more from these billion dollar companies, we will continue to get subpar products. We should not be excited that once again we are being told to wait for 2+ years to get products that truly justify our console. I’m glad that Perfect Dark is coming, but this type of behavior from Microsoft is quite frankly embarrassing and shouldn’t be celebrated in any way.

I stopped watching after about twenty minutes. It was mainly Keighley’s fucking shoes that did it.

“Funk,” I said to myself, “any cunt who wears trainers like that with a suit ain’t gonna be revealing Elden Ring or Silent Hill. He’s just going to spew about F2P all night.”
Meh, I dunno. For me Geoff's atrocious shoes were offset enough by that other hostess...what was her name? I think it was 'Tits McGee?' You know, the girl who due to Covid apparently, could only afford to wear half a dress?

Good point. I had forgotten about Days Gone in particular but you're right, it had some BAD bugs right at release. Well, if you look at CDPR's track record it's pretty similar. People forget that The Witcher 3 was a mess with bugs as well. They'll fix it pretty quickly though and I think that once they do it will be really good. I figure that by mid 2021 or whenever they release the patches for PS5 and XBSX it will be in a good state and with most of the bugs quashed, but we'll see.

I don't think you're necessarily going to want to play CP2077 on an Xbox one or PS4 probably EVER. Even the PS4 Pro and XB1X are going to be dicey but they will basically be the minimum you want to try it with. Just the way of things. I'd be irritated if I only had the PS4 to use and couldn't afford to get a Pro or PS5, definitely. But on the other hand, the PS4 has handled EVERYTHING wonderfully this generation. So having one game like this, at the very end of the generation is a small thing all things considered. Stick with other games even those that will be released going forward and that will still play great on that platform and Go with CP2077 in the future when you have upgraded your hardware.

I want to play it.
Because I really liked what I experienced on TW3 except the combat parts so I'm really looking to see how they worked with the chance of the view point.

Said that I'm in no rush... I will wait the next-gen patch and because I won't be the day one beta tester I will get it on bargain price maybe on BF next year.... I probably won't get it exactly when the next-gen patch get released... I'm already waiting so I can wait more.

PS4 is a no go for me.
CDPR should be more clear about that.

Perfect Dark is a good announcement for Xbox fans. Only problem is that it will be at least late 2022 before it comes out, very likely even 2023, though I would think early to mid 2023 if that is the case. Bottom line, Xbox Series X will take at least until 2022 to have much in the way of games specifically for it, but it's still good to see things announced. It will be interesting to see how this strategy works for MS and drives sales of the consoles!

I HATE CG trailers, MS's Studios seems to be really hard on that right now, and by the time the game comes out, people are disappointed. If you don't have something to show off that was rendered in engine, GTFO.

The problem for Microsoft is that they CAN'T show gameplay for games like Perfect Dark because they're not far enough along in the development process. If they showed gameplay it it's current form, if that's even possible, it would be very negative for them. Xbox fans will just have to be patient. They'll start seeing these Series X specific games show demos in 2022 and start to be released hopefully in late 2022. Most will be 2023 though. Just is what it is.

So bitter, just happy it's happening after 15 years with a big budget. If it's 2022 fine with me.

Not sure if already posted, but DF's John was on Ryan McCaffrey's Unlocked xbox show a day ago, it sounds like the tools argument might be a stretch. If you listen to John (who is trying to not reveal too much, "can't get into specifics" but has heard from sources), he's referring more to the quality of Sony's API's and ease of their Development environment. He even refers to when One X had the upper hand over PS4Pro due to a large disparity, but it was still pretty close on the basis of Sony's APIs. Perhaps IGN was a bit hasty with Ryan's Series X review conclusion...

Hopefully the tools excuse can stop now. 🛠 🧰

PS5 hardware and API is just better designed.

Sony was criticized this gen for showing games too far from release, like we indeed saw with the 2015 trifecta(FF7R, TLG, Shenmue 3), but where are those critics now that MS is showing a bunch of cgs without any date?

Well with Sony even when they take their time they always end up releasing the games and in the most greatest way possible. Unlike some Xbox Scalebound for example.

Man TGA's were such a snorefest... All I remember is uncanny Vin Diesel and Perfect Dark (which I'm very hyped for).

The Disney's investors call was much more enjoyable imo... The amount of original content they've got coming in the next couple years is insane. 10 Marvel series, 10 Star Wars series, Plus a new Aliens tv series...Yassssssss.

Lol, i though we didnt get excited for cinematics anymore, guess xbox fans still love those, remember the xbox game conference a few months back? Lol
At this point sony is so far ahead they are not even competing
Doesn’t matter, it’s about knowing that there is a new Perfect Dark coming in the near future. Hell they could even have shown it written on a napkin...

Ok I didn't get a pre-order for PS5, and yes I was looking forward to cyberpunk, well I'm going to buy for PS4Pro and then play on PS5 ??
Definitely not!
This is really worse than i thought ... 18fps ops 15fps

Watching this - pretty brutal on both PS4/P - I'm honestly really surprised that they even targeted a release on either PS4 or XBO. PS4P and X1X should've been minimum target consoles for releasing this game - and even then it appears these console versions will be limited and constrained in certain levels.

Wonder if the latest patch addresses some of the issues noted in the review.
