Cyberpunk 2077 currently looks really bad on PS5 (not a shitpost).

also ... RTX 3080 and 3090 can't do 4k 60 on Ultra with Ray Tracing...

all of a sudden I am feeling a whole lot better for not being able to find a 3080!!!

Looks like it will be 4080 for me...
i have a 3080 and have everything maxed fully including ray tracing. i’m vsync locked at 60 in 4k.

im also running dlss in balanced mode so theres that

but ill also say, my modded GTA V looks better than 2077

So they added the heavy sharpening filter that runs in photo mode to in-game. Res is still the same.

Noticed this right away because there used to be a sharpening difference when you switch to photo mode. Now it looks the same in and out of it.

Oh really? How can you check which version game is currently using?
Bottom left corner in the main menu say what version the game has installed. In this pic its the 1.02

Drove around some more with 1.04. I think they managed to make the game even uglier, lol :pie_thinking:

If I wanted to set the sharpness on my TV to 90 I would do it myself. Because that's what they done with the sharpness filter and you can't turn it off.

If anyone's cranked unsharp mask in photoshop or used one in Reshade you'll know what it looks like.

It’s really bad on every platform but so many people are in denial.
!
I've played 6 hours in and not had any issues on Xbox. No crowd density issues or glitches. I think people complaining about visual quality don't have a case. Looks like the bikes are buggy tho.

Game is getting mostly positive reviews on Steam. If it is a hot pile of mess like on consoles, the reviews will have reflected that

Bugs are everywhere on pc too.

Npcs have braindead AI and one liners on pc too.

Maybe it's just pc gamers are more used with this.

1st party games on Playstation have a level of polish at release you rarely see on 3rd party games.

Cyberpunk 2077 should be the motive for skipping last gen at Halo Infinite. There's too much difference for power computational between last gen and the new gen. The bottleneck of the CPU (see PS4/X1) now there's not on new consoles.

You need to stop with this. You won't ever see a title from sony or MS, designed for PC's that pushes the console this hard. Sony and MS will not build an open world game like GTA future RPG on steroids. It's a poor comparison.

Just received the game, put the data disc in, after a minute of copying data the PS5 crashed and the report problem of system software pop up. This is the first since launch. Oh boy. I didn’t even started the game yet.

My post from the OT.

The blurring makes the game look like dogshit on PC as well. Really depressing.

edit: May be due to raytracing and TAA.

Man if you think it looks good on Xbox you have extremely low standards, good for you mate!

2013 vs 2020

-The FPS view is more better on GTA V.
-The person leaves the vehicle without any damages at 100 km/h on CP 2077.
-Better driving on GTA V.
-Better physics on GTA V.
-Better water on GTA V.
-Invisible bullet impacts on CP 2077.
-Wheels are puncture-proof on CP 2077.

Same, played 3 hours...nope. Im done until the nextgen version

Im in the same boat, gunna put this aside. I really enjoy it but the small bugs, crashing and kinda blurry visuals are pushing me to wait for the patch. I’m eager to get it cuz it was so fun but imma jump back into Fenyx for a week or so and then go back to Ghost as I never finished that.

Those are rather negligible compared to what's going on on the console side, just like that wheelie bin glitch on Spider-Man. Certainly doesn't kicks you out of the game on PC for one.

Yeah, even tho some areas look bad the PS5 version has improved quite a lot with the latest patch.

Uh. Why is it so blurry before the patch? They decreased the TAA or increased the resolution with the last update? Or maybe resolution was dynamic? I'm quite curious.

It kicks you out ot the game on pc too.

The police teleporting on the roof or behind you. They can' t even take their car to chase you. Just changing street and poof they're gone.

It's 2020 ffs. Those things were done better in gta 4 15 years ago.

I still like the game, but the open world itself is disappointing.

Could be they toned down the blur setting on TAA. But half or more of the reason is coming from a strong sharpen filter they added. There’s no ringing artifacts but it’s adding a dark outline around everything. Res still seems the same.

Weird stuff. Seems almost lower resolution as much is blurried.

At first I had no issue with the game and thought it ran fine, didn’t look great but didn’t look horrible either. When I got to the part where Dexter appears and you ride in the car it just killed it for me. It was so bad that it was distracting. Hopped out the car, looked up at the apartment buildings and it looked like the game hadn’t loaded yet. I’m putting it away until the next gen upgrade release. On a series X by the way.

It’s visually better in a way because with the heavy blur before your eyes feel like it’s not focusing.

The result is similar to increasing the sharpness on your TV by a lot. I was doing that before but now I don’t need to, but then again there’s no way to adjust it yourself anymore.

Far from ideal but it is giving the impression of more detail.

Game looks great to me on the Xbox series X.....took awhile to get the HDR right.

Game kinda reminds me of GTA and Fall out had a baby.

Bugs are annoying but nothing game breaking for me yet.

From DF video :
PS5 runs limited to PS4 Pro DSR max resolution: 1188p (averages between972p-1188p)

So I was right when I said it looks like sub-1080p resolution and yet some people were saying it looks good for them and were bashing me for saying it looks bad. I think that the lowest resolution PS4 pro game ever released. At least it's mostly stable 60 fps...

It's so fucking annoying when people who know shit tells others they are wrong.

Baiscly everything I said on a release day was confirmed by various sources like HDTV Test or DF and yet some people told me that I am shitposting.

Tbh XSX having resolution over 1440p in quality mode helps a lot. My only problem with PS5 version is blurines of the screen which is a result of low res and bad post-processing. Last patch helped a bit but still... a lot of blurry stuff.

Yes, resolution is clearly higher on 1.04 on PS5, it seems with more NPCs too. But even on 1.02 we were often close to 1200p, not sub 1080p.

On the negative side, I had a few slowdowns I didn't have before 1.04.

Resolution was going sub 1080p when you were driving through city which is a bit chunk of the game.

1.04 unblurred the game a bit but as for now we don't know either it was because of change to Taa and post-processing or resolution was upped. I think it's a mix of both but some sources are claiming that only some kind of sharpening was added and TAA was scaled down a bit. We need to wait for official info but I have to agree that game looks a fair bit cleaner. If we can reach 1440p it will be great.

Resolution looks unchanged. Those screen shots above have the same amount of jaggy on edges.

Which screenshots? DF worked on 1.02.

The 1.04 is definitely sharper, with a slightly lower framerate in some places. I know, I played both versions for hours yesterday and today.

Check the top of the building by the pinkish part. Jaggies still the same. It's not actual true sharpness from res but decrease of TAA blur effect and addition of post process sharpening.

I know people want the game to improve but it's nothing but a quick fix. Don't mistake this for quality sharpening like on Nvidia and AMD cards.

Hey everyone, have you ever had loading issues while roaming around night city on PS5?

I mean assets loading after several seconds.

Well it's definitely sharper and cleaner so it is an improvement for sure.

And PS5 now runs Miles Morales at 60 fps with Raytracing and dynamic 4k so there's definitely a lot of room for further improvements here.

Although the major ones won't come until dedicated next gen versions.

Well I am not sure if we should put so much faith in this patch... CDP obviously lied about base consoles performance but saying that CP77 works surprisingly well on Ps4/x1. I am curious if they can and will deliver with next Gen patch. They have a lot of work to do yet with bugs and base consoles performance. I would not be surprise if we will have to wait another year.for patch
