Awesome real Mario gif here
We do have that info. This week there 6496 regular PS5s and 832 digital editions.Still waiting for the breakdown of ps5 regular vs digital.........oh wait, they won't release thst since they made 6.
I know that he has a clear bias, but to be fair to him this forum had threads on weekly Japan sales and monthly US sales for over a decade. If they didn't make the threads then me or someone else would. But only for Nintendo?
PS5 is the fastest selling new console worldwide ever. Why don't you make a thread for that?
Lmao why don’t you?But only for Nintendo?

Funny when PS4 unable to outsell XBO+NSW in 2017.Of course the Switch sold more. It was out for the whole bloody year. Bloody well would hope that it sold more, else it would be a disaster.
The PS4 and XBO were in obvious decline ramping up to the next gen consoles, and the next gen consoles were only out for 2 months.
They could have sold another 10M ps4 last year with covid if they produced them. And if the console got a cheap super slim model like previous playstations it could have pushed 140M. But Sony were satisfied and decided against it.What's really surprising is how many people are still buying PS4s. There are already over 110,400,000 sold. I can't believe they are still selling lol.
Maybe we should mix it up and let a Sony fan do next week's threads. I can think of a few catchy thread names alreadyLmao why don’t you?
I'm not sure what your point is?Funny when PS4 unable to outsell XBO+NSW in 2017.
PS5 manufacturing appears to be fully up from what I understand. They just need more factories. They could have sold another 10M ps4 last year with covid if they produced them. And if the console got a cheap super slim model like previous playstations it could have pushed 140M. But Sony were satisfied and decided against it.
I just hope they can get ps5 manufacturing up and running properly this year.
Yeah it's really 'scary' they're not selling in a country they've barely shipped any units too, while worldwide they are sold out completelyReally scary situation for Sony as the second biggest market is blooming but their presence is decreasing.
You can see some people really want Sony to fail. Sadly for them it ain't happening. Playstation is stronger then ever.Yeah it's really 'scary' they're not selling in a country they've barely shipped any units too, while worldwide they are sold out completely
Europe, US, Japan, in that order in terms of importance. They made the right decision.
They made a decision of handing out the market to one platform holder not only in Hardware sales but software sales too.Yeah it's really 'scary' they're not selling in a country they've barely shipped any units too, while worldwide they are sold out completely

Both companies are the healthiest they've ever been. I don't think either are bothered really. And neither should you. Your concern for PlayStation isn't needed. They made a decision of handing out the market to one platform holder not only in Hardware sales but software sales too.
Nintendo generated nearly the same amount of Playstation division profits during 7 years of PS4 era in just 3.5 years lol.
Japan is one of the reasons.
2 things. In a post covid world demand will surely fall for switch but not like the wii. The Wii was built on the motion features which interest in waned eventually. The wii also wasn't a portable. The switch is the equivalent of the wii and DS combined into one portable console.Despite the great sales moment, and that we are in a unique period where we're facing various degrees of a pandemic, i cant help but think that this year is the Switch's 11 hour.
The Wii was going real strong and it lost steam fairly quickly which caused Nintendo to lose momentum towards its Wii U announcement/release.
I still think they need to release, if not at least announce its successor/upgrade so that 3rd parties dont lose sight because of the shiny new, albeit difficult to attain next gen (current gen technically) consoles - PS5 & XB Series.
Im feeling a bit of Switch fatigue due to the recent releases like Cyberpunk 2077, Spiderman MM, and others pushing the latest tech.
I want to play Zelda Age of Calamity but the handheld performance is unappealing, docked not too much better either. Monster Hunter Rise is one of the best looking 3rd parties, but even in docked mode you can clearly see the switches shortcomings like tessellation and draw distance.
I can appreciate what your saying, thanks for the reply.2 things. In a post covid world demand will surely fall for switch but not like the wii. They are selling PS5s as fast as they can make them. Japan is one small country with 120m people who generally have very specific tastes. No point catering to them when PS5 is another guaranteed 100m+ seller even without it.They made a decision of handing out the market to one platform holder not only in Hardware sales but software sales too.

They do, and they need to make up for whom this "lack of original third part games" narrative? Switch softwares are selling hot as we speak. And no Nintendo hasn't generated PS4 level profits in 4 years on the market. And even if they had, outside of you and some other zealots, would that really make up for the lack original third party games on Switch compared for the PS4, and the technologically inferior hardware....
True, Nintendo will surpass Sony gaming division profits in 4 years on the marketThey are selling PS5s as fast as they can make them. It does lack original third-party games compared to PS4 though. Compare the libraries. No comparison. Can't help but think Sony Japan publishers (supporters) are being pretty confused right now with the PS5 situation stock in Japan. All that talk about not sidelining the country and this is what they got.

Again the technologically inferior hardware bla bla bla nonsense.
Sony made $1.15bn in Q1 2020 alone, a record for games companies in Q1 so not sure about those figures.True, Nintendo will surpass Sony gaming division profits in 4 years on the market
Nintendo - 10.328 billion USD of operating profits from 2017-2020
Sony gaming division - 10.979 billion USD of operating profits from 2013-2020
It does lack original third-party games compared to PS4 though. Compare the libraries. No comparison.

Again though, this is not good to anybody, except shareholders.
The higher theit profits, the more likely Nintendo will feed gamers with mediocre hardware again in the future. Look at the PS5 and Series X, you simply can't build a gaming PC to the same level for £450. Would probably cost the best part of £1000. Great for gamers. Then you have the Switch being released at £280. Daylight robbery .
Sony gaming division Q1 2020/21 = $1.153B (Biggest ever recorded for Q1 Playstation history but not for a video game company)It does lack original third-party games compared to PS4 though. Compare the libraries. No comparison.

Dafuq with those complaining about MediaCreate and Famitsu weekly sales data being posted here? Are they new to town?
Since I'm on GAF (for around a decade now) they've been posted weekly, the only reason why they were lacking in the last few years was because of the community being decimated, even then those that left posted them on that other purple forum anyway cause it was a tradition basically.
If Switch is dominating Japan and that bothers you, it doesn't have to do with users posting the data, it's like saying "don't wear crop tops cause fat people can feel ashamed" LMAO.
You need to read more financial reports from both companies instead of watching YouTube for those financial informations. They are selling PS5s as fast as they can make them. I think the switch could have another 4 years left if Nintendo want and could end up selling around 30M. You have a switch Pro they could launch in 2022 and potential price cuts for the current models. Both companies are the healthiest they've ever been. I don't think either are bothered really. And neither should you. Your concern for PlayStation isn't needed.

Conservative estimate but yes it can cross 30M even if it slows post covid. What's the top selling console ever in japan? At the current pace?
Ftfy!At least Microsoft can brag to Sony that they are in the Nintendoland top 10.
