Steamcharts still has anywhere from 40-60,000 people playing it at any given time, and this is without really all that many true “fix” patches yet, as most of the major problems the game launched with, those are still there. But as I’ve said in past coverage, no matter how negative I get, there is some sort of core magic here that makes the game fun to play, and makes Night City a cool space to explore with your own version of V.
Granted, we are only two months in, but we are already seeing burgeoning signs of this. Yes, there are the typical slate of NSFW mods that games like these (including Skyrim, of course) will always see, but there are some pretty cool things being worked on. Mods that allow you to have a “full chrome” V, or Cyberarms, or non-cosmetic mods like a bunch of people working on third person mods, many of which are already starting to shape up pretty well.
If modders can fix the weightless choices, AI bested by games older than time itself, lacking skill tree, horrible driving mechanics, ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC, the only reason this game should be compared to Skyrim is because of bugs
But don't worry, 16 FREE DLCs are coming : )
