so is anyone upset that we dont have any flashy arcade type racing games during these last few years , no ridge racer , NFS is shit , and code masters r just milking rally , wreckfest gives me hope cuz it reminds me of destruction derby but other than that there is nothing , wats neogafs take.

Sega made at least 2 "AAA" arcade racers in the last years and promptly avoided porting them to anything that wasn't an arcade machine.

Unfortunately, it's all about what genres make the most money and I guess most companies don't see ample or good profits in high budget arcade style racers anymore. Yeah, I prefer them over simulations as well. They are more fun and imaginative.

Nah, they should do a new franchise if they want to change direction. Burnout Paradise was a real letdown because of the open world aspect.

One of my favorite genres. It's wild to me how garbage the genre is now. People want everything to be either Hardcore simulation, or child kart racing. Anything in between is just rejected.

Wangan Midnight on the PS3 is good. The menus are in Japanese, but you can find translations of everything on the Internet. I don't speak a word of Japanese and i didn't have any problems playing.

One of my favourite genres. gutted they aren't getting much coverage anymore. Sims and realistic racers just don't do it for me. Even hybrid realism/arcade is off-putting. I couldn't give a toss about the suspension, upgrading my brake discs and the exhaust width, I just want to put my foot down, take corners at 200mph and hit a nitro boost, launch myself twenty foot into the air and over six other cars through a billboard and past the finish line.

Although I love the Forza Horizon series of racing games, I really would like a new version of OutRun. The last console version we got was the 360/PS3 version which came out 12 years ago. Even if they have to strip the Ferrari license to get it to work, I'm all for it!
