If they will do it like Teleport, it will be a fixed distance.i wonder how they will manage Leap with Barb on controller.
Really not excited, looks dated on all ends outside of the graphics. I get that nostalgia is a huge thing tho
I guess we're in for months' worth of passive aggressive posts form the D3 kids.
I got a little ARPG itch because of this announcement, and wouldn't mind trying something new in the genre.
How is Grim Dawn? For reference, I liked Diablo II and Titan Quest, but got bored pretty quickly with Path of Exile, which seemed too convoluted and MMOey for my tastes.

Sounds great! Glad to read it is challenging, because man, Diablo III was fun but also mind-numbingly easy sometimes.Grim Dawn is excellent. Slow start, like most games from the genre, but the gear and skill options are insane. Lots of really challenging content in various forms, and a beefy campaign. Even playable on a controller...but certain builds really want that mouse precision.
Yeah I'm old enough to actually have played Diablo 1 back on windows 95, carry on.

I'll check GD as soon as I can, thanks!
Sygma thanks man! Sounds awesome, specially the factions stuff and all that sidecontent. Definetly going to grab this.
You can play a Cthulu hunting priest in a highwayman outfit with dual pistols that fire explosive ammunition. I can't really sell it more than that.
I couldn't find any word on that, but there are games that do it. Maybe the D2 network code is a bit too old for that? It would be cool though.Really looking forward to playing this on my big ass TV. I know they mentioned Cross Progression, I'm assuming that's being able to play on console and on PC and keeping your progress.
However, is there cross play between consoles and PC players? I have friends on other platforms that I would love to play with.
I remember buying a pentium 166 MMX PC just so I could play Diablo, my old machine couldnt play solitaire so it had no chance with Diablo.Yeah I'm old enough to actually have played Diablo 1 back on windows 95, carry on.

Yep, runes are orange now, it was changed in some patch. Not played diablo 2 for a while, but are runs different in color when they drop, as in being able to distinguish them from the white text.
I saw someone on a stream and the rune text was orange, i guess that is a mod?
I think it would be a nice simple change if they did this..
D2 has a great mix of rich systems, accessibility and fun online that I don't think any other ARPG has matched. I understand if some people think D3 is fun to play, but it has terrible itemization and utterly boring character building. PoE has a ton of systems complexity and theory crafting, but it's also a bigger time sink and has the problem that you can just clear the entire screen instantly so it's not as engaging to actually play, it's more of a pure skinner box.Really not excited, looks dated on all ends outside of the graphics. Please buy OG DII now, available for download on the Bnet store *wink wink*Diablo II Resurrected Will Let You Import Original Diablo II Save Files
In an interview with IGN Middle East, Matthew Cederquist, Game Producer for Diablo II: Resurrected, confirmed that players can import their legacy Diablo II save files into the remaster and continue on with their game.
“Yes! Keep your old save files,” said Cederquist, when asked about a save file importing feature.
“Back when we were working on [the remaster], we wondered if the old save files would work, so we kind of shoved it in, and it worked! So yes, your local singleplayer save files will carry over.”

PvP is the Endgame in Diablo 2.I'm a Diablo 3 boy, played it to death and loved my time with it. Its not amazing in terms of challenge or tactics but I liked the progression of gear and the builds and such, but tell me this Diablo 2 fans:
Does it speed up as you go on or is that how the game is TTK wise even in the endgame? Whenever I see videos of D2 its always much slower than D3 is with high level gear, more single target attacks and less "exploding 10 mobs every second". I'm guessing its NOT like that, and maybe thats why people prefer it over 3 (among other reasons ofc).
I'm not saying whether one is better than the other, I'm just wondering. I'm more than willing to give D2:R a go even if its totally different to D3, in fact I would prefer that because its more variety.
If TTK IS similar to D3 later on can someone link me a video of that sort of thing? I had a look myself but not really sure what to search for as I don't know the game at all.
edit - I had a look at general endgame builds and it does seem similar to D3, much faster than what I'd seen before, not quite as stupidly fast as Barb WW builds in D3 but I think thats a good thing, those get boring a bit fast.
PvP is the Endgame in Diablo 2.
The game is basically just farming to gear up your character and then join PVP games and have fun.
People that goes for Ladder run are the ones that focus in PvM, but then you don't need high end gear for that.
