Did they fix the leveling up skill tree ? Probably the most poorly designed aspect of the game IMO
I agree that it wasn't good, but that would be overhaul. I think for now they are focusing on bug fixes to make it playable to the most possible amount of people. After that they MAY change some stuff. But skill tree or story changes are most likely going to be NOPE.
The only changes i can see them making are something related to A.I, Items or open world design or customization.
Core elements like Skill-Tree or Story or Dialogue are not going to be changed i guess. The story and dialogue stuff can be improved via a big DLC. But skill, leveling is really unlikely.
They did introduce a new skill-tree/gameplay mechanic in Blood and Wine, so i guess adding new things is possible. However and i repeat i dont expect an overhaul to skill tree.

Few impressions [PC version]:

- pedestrians still spawn out of nowhere out of your view. You look in front of you and see no one, spin the camera around and suddenly there's 3 people walking;
- vehicle AI is still bad: still unable to cross certain bridges so they stop in the middle of the road, goofy pathfinding issues;
- pedestrians still despawn when out of view and in panic mode. I walked past a shootout and a bunch of NPCs panicked, I spun the camera around and literally all of them despawned;
- Still a lot of empty streets in parts of the city that definitely shouldn't be empty [City Center for example]

That's basically my biggest issues in moment-to-moment gameplay unchanged with this patch, unfortunately.
Are we sure this is a bug and not a streaming issue? You know This game still depends on HDD or was developed with HDDs in mind.

And yeah as I was saying police is still not good and will probably never be, people must give up on that.

Also I can't find the driving toggle for different handling model....

Now I realised that the camera controls with gamepad, is like from X360/PS3 era. Very not nice to look at it as a video. But as for playing, meh it's pretty good.

To the credit of CDPR, game runs much more stable in city, I would say it's dropping to 50ties not to 30ties.

I don't get why patches are so big considering it's just code. It's alot of fixes by all means.... But 40 gigs worth??

I'm no programmer.... So probably dumb question, does old code (that needed to be patched) get deleted/replaced in patches or does it lay dormant on the hard drive somewhere.

Yeah, i noticed this issue long time ago. I have no idea why they went with this design choice but it seems Intentional and not a bug. I think this is just fixes/bugs/improvements.
A.I + Pedestrians + Traffic = Those need complete overhaul. Which may happen, there is a good chance but i dont think its going to happen this early.

Probably too optimistic i guess. You need to understand that these stuff needs overhaul as its simply not a bug or glitch, it is a design choice done on purpose. It seems to me they (CDPR devs) didnt envision this game to be compared to GTA type of sandbox games so thats why they made less effort on such things and went with these weird design choices where cars appear in the background like these stupid 2D pixels (lol) to them the open world serves as a backdrop for the game and story and to make a setting that helps set the mood. But with a lot of complaints im hoping they will tend to these issues later and overhaul them and make them better.

My biggest issue is that map zooming is not a thing when driving and it should have been within the first few issues with the patch. Turning on a dime is annoying and I always have to backtrack a bit to make the turn because it's hard to gauge when the turn actually happens.

Please institute map-zooming when driving. It is VITAL to a better experience in this regard.

I understand this, however it seems like a really dumb choice to see cars dissapearing in the distance and you be on the car-free highway. Does not make sense, even if there would be no AI involved and cars could run you over, it would still have far more realistic feel then this. I mean fuck, even the basic B open world game has the traffic done better, this is in -unacceptable- range. Funnily enough I never saw this problem, I was playing the story, but now when I am fucking around the wasteland you notice some thing which seems to be done really poorly. And for that record, there was GTA 3 recently on GitHub so they at least could use that mechanism copied from the code. I mean this is bullshit, for major patch, this....no.

They probably replace large sections of the code even if there is a few fixes. I'm not a game dev but i worked in software dev and most people just replace the entire app even for small fixes, much easier than having to go through the effort and risk of updating bits of your code that you actually fixed.

in other games cars just spawn out of nowhere on the horizon. cyberpunk does the same thing but it clashes with the design choice they made where you have 2d sprites of cars on the horizon. they need to overhaul the transition and try to make both systems work. have the 2d cars spawn a 3d car when they reach a certain distance treshold for example. the number of cars is inconsistent too. you can have a million 2d cars far away and 30 cars close to you. a lot of games have something like that where cars on the horizon are just 2d blobs of light. but they hide it better.

as other user said above. this is not a bug. it's the way the designed it. it need an overhaul not a hotfix

Sure but like it's shown, the transition is non-existent and also the range where the 2D cars dissapear should be way further away, this looks fucking dumb.

So, PS4 Pro here:

* No difference in terms of performance, from what I can tell. Maybe some 2-3 FPS, but there are still some serious framedrops when driving.
It's been a while since I played it for the last time, but from what I remember (90h of gameplay), it feels the same. Maybe its sticking to a higher resolution now more often, since it was dynamic but stuck at 1080p on the Pro? Really dont know.
* Bugged sidequest that I nedded for the plat is now fixed, thank God.
* Cars that you can purchase now have an individual icon on the map. HUGE change.
* Inventory and menus in general seems snapier.

Overral, I'm happy for all the bug fixing.

This patch wont fix the experience on last gen consoles. They will still run like shit just like before.
Dont know why some people reacted to my impressions with "trigger". I was really objective. But anyway

After playing some more, I believe that its indeed running smoother, especialy when I'm on foot

They also fixed the graphical glitch when you dismember someone. It was fucking scary, because it looked like the GPU was overheating or something.

If they actualy fixed those animation and spawning bugs during the campaign, the game is really playable now.

Going to start my 2nd playthrough latter today

Its weird how the cars are vanishing as they come TOWARDS the player, you would think they would be vanishing as they move away from the player. Very weird.

Yeah, the game runs much better now on base PS4 at least, and I know every place within the game where it used to struggle. It is nowhere near a full 30 FPS stable experience though (hardly, almost any AAA is, on base consoles), but at least to me it seems as playable as let's say The Witcher 3 on base PS4..

Those patch notes though.

And there were some people saying it wasn't broken at launch...

depends what you mean by broken. i completed the main quest and every side quest/gig without any game breaking bug or progression problem. in fact i had less problems with this game on PC than with RDR2.

so for me the game was never broken on pc

Jackie still walks through the closed elevator doors at the end of the tutorial mission. I mean it's not a vital bug but it's so fucking glaring and at the beginning of the game I am shocked that they haven't fixed it.

And lol at them still not touching the mini-map, just chalk that one up to "by design" and never expect it to be addressed in the future.

Just FYI this is normal graphical technique, it's called billboarding and even GTA5 does this (stand on a hill during a night and look at traffic). Rockstar can camouflage it better because they have been making these games for 20 years. Cyberpunk has it applied even in badlands, which is most likely an oversight, or maybe they cannot turn it off an on for specific parts of the map, no idea.

Nice footage. Is that running on Series X?

Also I feel sorry for the devs. This game is dying.

It was broken on PC. Just because YOU didnt get a game breaking bug (and 'game breaking' is subjective for different people), it doesnt mean the game wasnt in a terrible state, because it was.
I have never seen this amount of fixes in a single patch for any game ever. Even fallout 76's infamous bug list at launch didnt come close.
