Looks good, but no 4k/60 is a bit disappointing for the new consoles.

Also, not a big fan of battle transitions, but at least the loading is fast.

Yeah, seems only the choice of 60fps or 4K. I'd be fine with 1440p 60fps though, which might be the performance option?

Is there any Mod I can ask to kindly update the Thread title? Seems more info came out after the initial post revealing the release date.

The combat animations are really clunky when comparing it to Monster Hunter Rise.

Battle transition is really weird in 2021.

Looks pretty good. Visually it's definitely a big step up from previous games.

A bit disappointing that that they are still doing battle transitions though, at least they seem to be rather brief. There's also some notorious environment pop in though I guess that's the sort of stuff they can still polish.

Is the gameplay PS4 or Ps5?

Somebody familiar with Tales please tell me, is this going to be a good game? The last time Tales absorbed me was Symphonia, and the games that followed were never better. I saw the trailer when it was revealed and it looks like they're trying, at least.

Sept 10th....... THAT'S TOO FAR!!!!!!
Are you kidding me!? after long silence we thought the game wouldn't make it in 2021, Sep pretty good date.

You can't really compare the combat system in Tales games with MH series because Tales is all about fast action combat. In MH your entire animation of you swinging your weapon plays out since that game is much more about knowing your opening while Tales is all about fast combo.

I think we will finally get another great game in the series after so long.

I know symphonia is like the ff7 of this series but idgf it has yet to be topped as far as I’m concerned

Hmm it's been so long since Berseria released so i'm cautiously optimistic, the extra dev time doesn't necessarily mean a better game (see Tales of Zestiria).

I don't dig a lot of these designs but I'll wait for the final product to see, but here's hoping everything comes together in the end.

Man those character models are stiff during dialog sections, a huge lack of personality or character.

Generic UE4 graphics. Environments look great but I feel like I've seen them before.

At least combat transitions are super fast? Though I'll miss party banter after victory heh.

Def a mixed bag for me. I'll be waiting to hear opinions from long time Tales fans before buying.

This looks... Really bad.
It really looks like some random game with a reshade filter applied at the very last minute to add a cartoon effect, the effect is really not well done and not good looking.
Some studios really struggle to make a good anime look in games, it always end up having some super generic look with overdone effects that don't work.

Tough crowd to please. Seems clear to me its a substantial upgrade, compared to previous Tales games. Im curious, how big of a departure some people seem to have wanted for the franchise.

I may have to look at the video more critically to see if im missing something.

Well its a Tales game and most people going in to this game want Tales experience. Were you expecting entirely different game?
My thoughts exactly. What were people expecting? Final Fantasy or Persona? I better dam well be just a "tales game" for God's sakes.

I was hoping for it, yes. The first trailer looked far more interesting to me and I thought that with upgrading the visuals they would also upgrade the gameplay.

Ive never played the tales games properly. I downloaded basaria on steam like a year after it came out but the Graphics and textures made it look like a PS2 game. I know you should judge a game by its graphics and im sure everyone here will tell me it was a fun game but I played it for a few hours and everything looked and felt dated. This at least looks better

If you were hoping for none-Tales game then maybe you should play a game that not called “Tales”. It was pretty obvious the game was going play like a Tales game.
