It will be interesting to see what state the XB1 version ends up. This to me seems more like made for XSX/XSS, and then down ported to XB1.

I knew it looked cross gen the moment I saw it. They definitely upped the world detail but everything else is pretty much the same. Destruction wasnt there. Lighting looks identical to Horizon 4. Basically Horizon Forbidden West. Best looking game but still held back by last gen.

And for Phil to use Jim Ryan's 'built from the ground up' quote is just a head scratcher. I swear these suits live in their own world.

Explain? What are you talking exactly? It's 60fps as well, no 30fps here.

It may be a FH2 scenario where the port is done by a different team entirely.

Lol there is a gigantic gap between this and FH4. And who was expecting destruction in a Forza game?

there is a gigantic gap in world detail, but its all salad dressing like Horizon Forbidden West.

it's my game of the show, and easily the best looking game at the conference, but next gen is about more than just graphics. Physics, destruction and everything else that was held back last gen needs to be improved. Same reason why GT7 being cross gen is such a huge disappointment. Graphics arent everything.

Right, this came up in the "GT7 disaster, it's cross-gen?!" posts, that now the game can't have a high degree of destruction and car damage because of Jaguar CPU holding everything back... what game have you been playing for the past 4 Forza Horizons or 7 Forzas or 6 GTs if you're expecting car wrecks?

Watching the 4k versions on my oled and WOW it looks absolutely awesome! It's bizarre they can make open world driving games look this good!

I'd be asking them to make track or single route game too as these developers are so much better than turn 10
I was watching a content creator in my language...but i think i have heard about some amd tech..but my english is not good

No it was 30fps, One X had a 60fps option.
thats what i meant. but what does that have to do with the game being cross gen if the last gen version was also 60 fps on the mid gen console? the mid gen console was also held back by the base console.

What do you want from the physics in a driving game?, smashing through every building you see in the game?, thats not always down to a lack of physics but more the devs not wanting you to smash through a Mexico village in a multiplayer game.

This game looked stunning and I loved how the developer was explaining the work put in for the visuals. This is what I wanted to see from more Xbox Studios but sadly I did not get it.

Forza Horizon is the best IP Microsoft has its far above all over racing games. Playground are so talented.

I got stung with the one set in Australia. I thought it looked amazing and couldn't buy it fast enough but all I can remember is driving aimlessly around the arse end of nowhere and enduring some utterly pointless cringe inducing story (in a racing game ffs) about being invited the the most awesomest raddest beach partay EVAR!

I quickly deleted it out of utter disgust. Fifty quid down the drain. I was livid!

Anyway, I'm not falling into the same trap again. This one looks stunning but do all the Horizon games have a stupid story driven campaign? Listening to some of the in-game chat for this one started to give me horrifying flashbacks and made my dick itch.

same as GT when they set a story campaign but they dont link it with driving to and from the events.

I laughed when they said about wanting to recreate Mexico in honest and authentic way - so it's getting gang wars, hijack missions and an 18+ rating? ;)

I sure hope that the map is going to be bigger, because that definitely stopped me from spending more time with FH3 and 4. Plus they can't have four seasons here to "cheat" with changing environments like in Horizon 4.

This is 60fps full stop, its based around a 60fps physics engine. It looks incredible, has massive draw distance, I'm not seeing where you think it's being held held back?

easily. looks way better than GT7.

this is the way to do cross gen games imo. downport instead of up port last gen versions. the world detail is insane and no way in hell you would see that in last gen consoles.

the city doesnt look as next gen though.

I was shocked how good it looked, I think its gonna be done similar to Forza horizon 2 was done.
