Everyone is joking about how MS delayed both this and Deathloop, but the way I see it is that it’s probably in their best interest to get these games out of the door ASAP so that their newly aquired studios can focus on their exclusive games rather than their competitors.

But mostly because I want them to release this and go to work on a new Evil Within.
I'd love to see that and I'd be surprised if that wasn't their next move looking at the future gamepass portfolio, good stuff but an abundance of tpp action-adventure it is not.

Their 2023 got a bit stronger and not sure if it needed to. Think 2022 probably would have be the lighter year

I wonder if their contract makes them pay a penalty for the delay...

Here's hoping the quality isn't affected by the MS acquisition.

I would say that from their perspective, it's in their best interests to minimize the amount of exclusives that Sony can point to over the holidays. I'm not sure that is even debatable since they have publicly made it known they have no interest in maximizing potential sales of the games they bought.

Also, the current tense of protecting employees now that everyone can get the vaccine, is pretty weak for an excuse.

Have they ever shown gameplay off? Or just that one trailer with the eccentric lady on stage that everyone fell in love with :p lol

After seeing the gameplay I have been pretty meh in this game in comparison to the first cinematic trailer they shared which was absolutely awesome.

Not the biggest fan of first person though.

Maybe, but I’m pretty sure contractual agreements between the two don’t leave the leeway for MS to just delay a game because they feel like it.

Would be pretty crazy if there was that kinda stuff going on, could lead to legal actions if it was true.

I cannot say your suspicions are wrong, but I tend to doubt that Sony had reason to include any clauses about not delaying games when the deal was done. Back then the dev / pub probably had the same incentive as Sony to launch, possibly more incentive.

2022 is going to be the 2013 of gaming where games were put out left and right and end up being crammed with games to play. I can just imagine in 2023.

I am hoping for a more horror focused game, rather than action-adventure.

Evil Within has awesome monsters and level design, they should make it less action and more scary. Heck, if they ditched the zombies and focused only on the special creatures it would be awesome... Also, hoping that they skip the open world gimmicks, they were just a filler.

There are so many ways that they could go on a sequel... That I just can't wait!

Where did you read it's not allowed on Game Pass for PC? First time I hear about this.
i think they mean it wont come on day 1 for game pass for pc as opposed to being delayed a year for xbox game pass for console. it's going to be a year delay for both

Can't say I'm too surprised, we hadn't seen any updates in a bit. Hopefully it'll be worth checking out in the end.

Hyped for this still. Really reminds me a lot of that Dreamcast SMT game... Maken X? I love EW and EW2, and Mikami stuff in general for the most part, so I have faith this will be worthy of the wait.

This looks like a VR game without VR support, it just looks like garbage to me to be honest. I don't know who at Sony thought it was a good idea to pay for timed exclusivity for this or DeathLoop. They may end up being good games and I'm sure a lot of good people are working very hard on them but they do not look like something that would move hardware but more like something that would be launch line up filler. I know both games have been delayed more than once so that could have been the plan but I just don't get the appeal of this one at all.

Don’t forget that both games comes day 1 to PC, and will very likely be better there, plus will arrive on Xbox too later. There is nothing good coming from throwing them under the bus.

Well heres me thinking im gonna loose out playing my ps5 on a 1080p tv at parents as my big 4k tv has no where to go till i get a new house sorted, yet neednt have worried its looking like there no decent games coming out for rest of year anyway

Phil released the COVIDS to screw with the PS5 release window confirmed

Careful. There are corners of the internet who will believe this. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Honestly, this is good news. Any game that isn't ready should take all the time they need to be as great as they need. I especially like to see this with these studios under Microsoft and Xbox ownership now. The last thing these studios need to start doing in the Xbox ownership era is releasing fucked up games with huge problems. Give even their Playstation 5 releases the attention and time they deserve to be great.
