Years later? You like Forza Horizon but you don't buy it for years after release? So when 5 comes out you'll be playing Horizon 3?🤔
Yes, I don't play a lot of games until years later. In this case, however, I've already done Horizon 4 (but not 3). But basically that depends a lot on if and when I feel like playing a game and Forza (Horizon) rarely comes first^^

No because the DLC came on the disc and not as codes.
Even Hot Wheels and Blizzard Mountain? I’m quite sure they were released later

and by the way, people figthing for Mighty Digital Future, do you realize companies can take away even the ability to redownload the games? They have total control and you can’t do anything about it. And that‘s the point, taking away the control from you. Use your heads please.

Don't you just love it when games are delisted a mere 4 years after it launched....
Well, I know why they are doing this (licenses, Music, Cars, ...) but it is a shame that there is no new mainline Forza game available so far.
Is it already almost 4 years old?

Game is on sale for 75% off right now if it hasn’t already been mentioned:

Thats crazy, I actually was hoping to get XSX in the near future for the Forza series and Horizon. They are delisting a massively successful game. Ye its my fault for not playing earlier but jesus...4 years and its gone forever? I was pissed when they did that with Driveclub but then again SONY was not happy about the numbers but this...

The ultimate edition is massively discounted right now. Currently £18. Why don't you buy it or even wait a bit longer and see if the game is selected as a Games with Gold game (but make sure you have it before the cut off date). If you do you'll be able to play it once you have a XSX because for those who own it will always have access to download it.

This is the first time this is happening without a sequel ready. Meaning that for the next year and a half, for the first time in over ten years, there will literally be no forza motorsport games on the market. Hopefully the 5 plus year development cycle for the next game ends up being worth it.

I thought this was a gamesforum with enthousiasts who knew that official sports and car games with licensed athletes/teams/cars/music always come with an expiricy date that when expired they can't offer the game anymore on their digital storefront. Guess I was wrong.

How is this even a problem? They’re giving you 2 months notice that the game will not be available digitally anymore. They’ve put it on sale for 75% off - I just bought the base game for AUD$12.95. They stopped making physical copies a long time ago, game sales after the first 6 months are a rounding error, let alone after 4 years.

You can’t go and buy a new physical copy of Demons Souls on PS3 right now, can you? No. You can buy second hand, just like you can Forza 7. Or like I said, buy the digital copy and the game is available to you forever, no risk of your disc getting scratched or lost and you losing the game.

I bought 5 before it's EOL and got 6 with gold also, but I've come to accept that I don't really like these games. NFS or Horizon is much more my thing.

Did it at least ever get a physical release that contains all the extra content? - as in a GOTY or Ultimate edition of sorts?

Otherwise, this is getting pretty fucked up. Future games are just straight up be releasing only to inevitably vanish into the abyss.

4 year old game, if people reallllllly wanted to play it they’d have done so by now. If somehow via some bizarre reason they’ve missed it, it’s £7.49 to buy and own outright forever. That’s a good 6 weeks notice too yet still #woeismedigitaltotesemosh.
People just love to moan about something.

Because they are literally deleting a 4 year old game, what dont you understand? DS came out 14 years ago. Currently on PS4 I can download NFS Rivals from 8 years ago, NFS 2015 from 6 years ago and NFS payback from 4 years ago. They are still there and will be for who knows how long and have over and over discounts as well but they aint getting delisted.

Its a 4 year old game and they already removing it from existence? Why? They don't have money for license renewal? Also im a PS4 player, I dont have an XsX yet so its not like i was sitting on a MS platform and ignored the game.

Its a xbox exclusive. Maybe people never owned an xbox? For me if Im buying an XsX I was planning to try out all I missed but I cant even get the last 2 Horizon games anymore. I mean, people saying its normal to just delete the game forever after a few years ....LOL.

I played and enjoyed FH4. Will try F7 on game pass to see if I like the more serious racing version, was always more of a arcade racer type. And if I like it I'll maybe even get it on sale for cheap.

ok, i have found something weird. Its not Forza, but Fifa.
Today I tried to install Fifa 14 on an old OG Xbox One I gifted to a friend. Was just an exploratory thing, like to compare it with fifa21 on my series x. Thing is: I cant. the store says that “the game is not available right now”. Rather concerning stuff. What means that is “not available”? It should.

FIFA 14 has been delisted from the store, you can't even get it digitally on EA Play, unless you bought it before delisted date. The only option is to get it on disc, some European sites sell old digital keys but it's on PC.

Thats the concerning thing. I bought Fifa 14 when it was released.

Oh, im drunk. I just recalled that I bought FIFA 14 physically hah. So it makes sense its not available.

Why do I feel like this shit only happens with only Forza games ?
Cant they like renew licenses ?
The problem with this fm7 delisting is that even though horizon games are good fun they are far from proper track sim type of racing games
Fm7 still holds up after 4 years , online community is still active it's still so much fun and killing it like that is just insanity

Surely Microsoft originally planned to have Forza 8 released before the delisting of 7? Well folks GT Sport is available.

Until it gets delisted and servers shut off too like previous games. Gran Turismo Sport won’t even be playable when servers die with how much requires the online connection or to even save you game.

Sooooo…if you want it that badly. Go find the disc. It’s 4 years old. Anything 4 years old in this medium needs finding. Especially considering licenses. What a bunch of snowflakes…”They’re taking away games that are 4 years old, AFTER putting them on sale for a huge discount, AND giving us huge notice they’re going…AND they’ll still be available on disc…they’re so evil…How are we gonna survive?!”.

You can download games tho, I am still able to access FH1-3 , existing copies still works, it's just they don't have licence...to licence it further. If that makes sense...

This is pretty short and cheap. 4 years is very short. Maybe GT can afford it due to larger sales and massive eSport (sponsors).

People be like: "We need an all digital future! They won't delist games so quickly! Stop being a paranoid conspiracy theorist!"
You got my noggin joggin about the potential of blockchain and the thought of buying and selling games as if they were physical copies in the digital space.

I dont like it too, that they remove/delist a game after only 4 years, but maybe it is the only affordable and achievable way of giving us a car list of this size.

What other game has currently this size of cars? (can we still buy GT5 and 6?)
I dont think that licensed music is that big of an issue.
Depending on the title / song they could just remove it like GTA, unless all songs are impacted at the same time.

Maybe it is their way to force the new gamers to the newer titles: Are you interested im Forza Motorsport? Well go and buy the latest entry (of course this will not apply to FM after the delisting)

Of course for people who are new into the Xbox ecosystem amd wamt to. play all of the older titles are completly out of luck...

They're not selling the digital copy anymore after September- that's all that is changing. There will still be thousands of physical copies out there, just like any other 4 year old game. They stopped making physical copies years ago, just like they do with every othe 4 year old game that isn't GTA5.

If you want to play forza 7 if you ever get an xbox, there will be plenty of physical copies around. What don't you understand about that? If you think you'll want to play it in the future, drop a tenner on the digital copy now and you have it forever.

Racing games that have real cars get delisted, that's just how it goes. It doesn't make any sense for MS or Sony to pay probably tens of millions of dollars a year to pay for licenses to use in 4+ year old games that sell probably 1000 copies a year at best. Expecting them to is ridiculous. No matter how people try to spin it, the game is still significantly more available than any pre-digital era game.

Thats the problem if your game has over 800 licensed cars. So stupid that its this short and not atleast 10 years, i hate this shit.

Agreed. To put this in perspective. Even Driveclub on PS4 lasted longer.

Prohibiting redownloading games you've purchases is very rare, at least on PC & consoles (afaik it can be more common on mobile devices). I can remember this happening to Minecraft Story Mode after Telltale shut down (I haven't verified if it's true). But yeah, it's the next step after delisting games. Personally I'll be supporting physical releases for as long as disc drive consoles are going to be available.
