Blizzard president J. Allen Brack leaving Activision Blizzard

That’s awesome. I was skeptical at first because I imagined these people were tied to their position regardless of what had happened. Is it enough? So maybe I’m getting ahead of myself.

Too many people obsessed with wokeness are missing the bigger picture here.

Vicarious Visions lady stepping up means we might actually get a shot at THPS 3+4 remastered.

Yeah, I bet he is...

All in all, changes need to happen if they plan on staying afloat. Especially after all of this.

lol Blizzard taking this opportunity to detach itself even further from old blood Blizzard (the ones who actually made good games) but now people are applauding it because of the scandal. Interesting.

Both Oneal and Ybarra are OG real gamers so I have some hope that Blizzard turns the ship around.

(I couldn't care less about diversity, inclusion etc., just gimme good games)

And the new leadership will probably come with a woke bingo statement soon.

. . .this statement is mind boggling. If the company puts out a statement admitting that they have failed certain employees who identify as an ethnic group associated with so-called "Woke culture" - that is bad because? Awful shit was going down round Blizzard-Way and a statement - that hits all the "woke bingo" slots as you call them - seems like the minimum response (beyond Brack stepping down).

Yea, with her and Mike who is a fan of Vicarious Visions work with Crash/Tony Hawk hopefully we get a better use of those studios.

To me toys4bob and VV need to be able to work on their own things. Unless the whole moving them to COD was temporary? Because I heard couple studios were having issues with projects last couple COD releases. But even so, hopefully her and mike stepping up means better direction than churning out COD;s.

Hmm, Vicarious Visions did some good work recently, hopefully that means Jen isn't a diversity hire/promotion. Seriously, if that companies recent output is anything to go by, she could be good for the Blizzard.
Not sure about Ybarra, if he's a Trump fan then I'm also a fan of him, but a lot of the time, people follow Trump to attack him, not sure if he's in that camp, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Putting that aside, hopefully he's actually brilliant at his job and also not a sleaze, that make a good start!

If you want to look to the reason for troublesome children, you look to the top, the parents and the same goes for companies, in this case that's not only the execs of Blizzard, but also the ones at Activision, so I'm not entirely sure this will fix everything, but time will tell! I still won't give them my money any time soon.

Never heard of the studio. Looks like it is Activisions port studio?
Vicarious Visions has done a lot of impressive work over the years. Including the recent Crash Bandicoot remakes. Yes, they do a lot of licensed stuff and conversions, but they're good at what they do.

This seems like a wise move, overall. Hopefully it isn't just for show.

Isn't Vicarious Visions the ones handling Diablo 2 Resurrected as well?

As for JAB, hard to say how much blame he really shoulders given he never fully transitioned into replacing Mike Morhaime. Mike had better hope more details don't come out about things that happened during his tenure. But everything about Alex A for instance seem like things he'd have definitely known about which did happen under his leadership.

I remember I said it was 50/50 on JAB surviving this when it first came out, so I guess the coin flipped against him. I don't know that much about Mike Ybarra and less about Jen. I know Mike had 20 years at Microsoft prior to Blizzard and joined just after most of the prior Blizzard leadership left. At the end of the day I feel Activision will be tightening the leash on Blizzard for a while after this is my gut feeling.

VV have been very consistent and especially good the past half decade or so. Was very disappointed they got relegated to be a support studio for Blizzard or COD or whatever again after their awesome work. D2:R looks good from a technical perspective. I think Jen's experience will shape things up.

This is all a power move by Bobby though. Jen and Mike are co-leads that report to Bobby.

Doesn't matter who is at the helm. Blizzard is a moneycow. Collared, lives inside a barn and it only gives milk that doesn't have any nutrients, just stupefies people and connect them to the udder.

Leadership should be the ones that pay the price, if you let dudebros act like horny dudebros and never tell them they can't then you can't fire them for being horny dudebros..
The frat boys should not be let go but it should be made clear to this the behavior ends now or they will be gone.

Well its already more than what Ubi did about Shanghai, and that place was infamous for its dysfunctional leadership.

Whoever made the decision to release the cod4 dlc separately in the remaster and charge more for it then they did 14 years ago needs to be fired or shot. What an absolute crime. 10 years I wait for that remaster and the cunt ruins it. Obviously most people didn't buy the dlc so it didn't show up on the map rotation. I hate him so much.

So many people stanning for a guy that thought D:Immortal was a good idea and doubled down on BFA with SL.

Hmm looks like this is the end of whatever independence Blizzard had. Vicarious Visions has worked with Activision side for years and Mike while he did great job at xbox is also relative fresh hire so both will be probably Bobby Kotick extension there.

Blizzard is just a name now, is any of the original crew even left?

Wow! Mike Ybarra? Will always recall this guy because it presented Mass Effect when backwards compatibility on Xbox One was first shown.

If it improves the culture at the company and improves their output then that can only be a good thing. Because apparently them having Independence has only resulted in problems and poor quality.
