*) dialogue. But Disco Elysium, easily. People like to say "lol" online, but Contact Mike had me howling with laughter. Not an isolated incident, but certainly a memorable one.
Yeah, DE is hard to beat in dialogues (although they are close), but it is a pointnclick adventure game.

I'm sorry, but this is just weird.

Why announce patches vaguely?
Why talk about it in a stream as if it's a big thing?

It's just a patch that wouldn't be needed if the game was released in a good state in the first place.

You still can't even edit your character when the entire game and ad's in the world are about modding your appearance. The reset option still doesn't reset your base attribute points. Nothing to improve the open world, apartments, garages or anything.

I am not harsh on this game like some people, but these updates are shit. Take way too long and no substance.

8 months after launch, still can't get a new haircut in a 100 million dollar budget RPG.

Well in the game's defense (why am I doing this?) you only see yourself either in a mirror that must be manually turned on (apparently the way mirrors work has changed since like, well, forever) or the ending cutscene. So no one cares that you have a mullet.

You can force RT reflections for main character but without head so... haircut won't mean much :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Bike riding shows full character.

You see yourself in the menus all the time, not to mention third person camera with vehicles.

I mean, c'mon dude. How the FUCK do you spend like 7 years to develop an RPG and then NOT have a customization option? There's no defending basic stuff like this.

I pretty much never used third person when riding vehicles, but sure. That's an issue. When it comes to the inventory, you end up looking like an idiot regardless if you want the maximum stats.

But yeah. An oversight for sure. The largest one out there? Not by far IMHO.

Most of us disappointed, day 1 fans already beated the game several time and modded the hell out of the game to continue playing and are waiting for end game content. So these petty bug fixes do nothing for us

Nah man. The game is just that fucked up still. I don't think glitches and code errors are platform specific. Performance would be. But my issues are shitty programming, AI, design choices, lack of narrative cohesion.
That’s why I never get the people who say it’s only bad on the last gen systems. No, it’s broken on a core system level.

Just 10mins into this video in which he uses the PC version to demonstrate CDPR’s ineptitude shows how badly this game is borked. They’ve fixed things here and there since but it’s still a long ways away from whatever they were promising the game would be.

Yes and it's been videogame design 101 for years. Something really went wrong in development if this wasn't in the base game- and took half a year of patching.
You could reset perks before actually. I was thinking this was about attribute points, which we still can't reset. And that's fine as their direction is for players to choose a path and stay on it.

I really like CDPR so I regretfully say this, but the game's ambition outweighs their talent.

CDPR were never able to achieve the development standard intended for this game. It's just too much for their talent and resources.

I hate to compare because they are not the same game but people expected R* standard open world for Cyberpunk like GTA and it was never going to happen.

I like the game, I put in about 30 hours in on my PS5 through Corpo path when it released before I stopped to wait until PS5 version. I just have low expectations now. I think from now it's going to still take them a really long time to really fix some of the fundamental issues and I worry that after a certain amount of time, it will just be abandoned and the passion for the game will be lost.

Regarding the PlayStation version, the non existent NPC's and traffic in this game kills the atmosphere and what stopped me from playing. I at least hope they fix this with the next gen version.

you pretty much said it all here, i feel cdpr had the frame right there with the witcher 3, all they had to do was slap the cyberpunk paint over it. I feel going first person and promising a million different things just added way too much pressure that ultimately they could not deal with.

the game was clearly still years away from being anywhere near close to even half of what they promised the game would be

Still no DLC. I would like to play the game I just have nothing left to do…
They've stated several times their roadmap is similar to that of The Witcher III: all the free DLC will be small in scale, a side-quest here and there and cosmetics. More significant expansions on the scale of Blood and Wine are scheduled for next year, they've mentioned that there will be at least two in their investor calls and public disclosures. I wouldn't be hoping for any significant DLC that'll keep you busy for another few months.

I've finished the game completing everything (NCPD dispatch missions, assault in progress events, random side content, buying cars..), and started another playthru just screwing around but I'm at the same point where I'm more or less waiting for significant content before giving it any more attention.

I'd argue No Man's Sky has shown its possible.

Whether CDPR is in it for the long haul is a different story.
NMS was much more improved in 8 months than Cyberpunk on this same period

Like, not even comparable

I enjoyed Cyberpunk, quite a lot. But all my hope is gone after this update.

Months of silence for this. Way too little, way too late.

Will replay when the next gen patch comes, but I dont expect many changes besides graphics anymore.

You know what, you're right. I didnt take the timeframe into consideration.

These guys have barely scratched the surface with their patches after launch, whereas I'm sure NMS was 3/4 to release their first expansion around this time.

I refuse to give any money to the stupid fucks at CDProject Red.

This game it's been sold for $10 and even $5 fucking dollars completely new and the greedy fucks of CDPR want us to pay $50 for the digital version after more than almost a year and with the game still unfinished.

Yeah, it seems that people forget how much time has passed already. This game was released 9 months ago, 9 fucking months and there's no improvements whatsoever. This is 343 incompetence level.

Its crazy how many patches are needed for this single player game. Idk what they were thinking putting this game out so early.

Everyone keeps talking about the next gen patch but what is the point? Its just going to be a broken game in 4k with 60 fps, maybe 30 fps with ray tracing ... :messenger_grinning_smiling:
I used to believe they made a bad call by releasing the game last year as it was but after 9 fucking months and no improvement I think they made the right call for the company. They knew even with another full year of development they were going nowhere so they said "fuck it", release the game and let's make our investment back.

This puts the developers in the spotlight. When the game released people were blaming the execs because they gave no time for development, even after the game was delayed like 3 times. Now you had your year you wanted and we're still in the same fucking spot.

Developers must be fired. Rebuild the team with competent people that can release a meaningful patch in less than 9 months. I swear guys, this is making 343 look like fucking pros. It's a new level of incompetence not seen before.

In the last year and a half of game development of an AAA title you don't add new features; you fix bugs and stabilize the features you already have. Essentially the game launched without the engine being "finished", so they didn't have a stable platform to build new content. Now it seems they finally have that, so they should be able to get new content out a lot faster.

They should just be silent about this game and show up only when they are ready to launch the next gen versions. They could use the opportunity to do a kind of re-launch thing and advertise the game as brand new. All in all, it isn’t a bad game and should receive more praise than what received.

With no real major updates with these patches I suspect the graveyard shift has taken of Cyberpunks future and the main team has moved on to The Witcher 4.

Nope, they confirmed working on big Cyberpunk expansions in yesterday stream

and there are a lot of updates, 1.3 will be an even bigger patch than 1.2

Yeah... I'm the same, the second playthrough just got boring super fast, I'd spent so much time doing it all the first time, it's not really that replayable of a game in that regard. I never re-played Witcher 3 either. Maybe it's been long enough I could try that again. Maybe that's not a terrible idea but I mean, I've waited this long I might as well wait for the next gen patch.
