From VG Tech:

The version tested was 2.004.000.

The footage here is from the Higher Resolution mode which renders at a resolution of 3840x2160 using what appears to be a form of checkerboard rendering.

There is also a Better Frame Rate mode which renders at a resolution of 3200x1800 using what appears to be a form of checkerboard rendering. The Better Frame Rate mode also has a 60fps cap during gameplay and a 30fps cap during cutscenes.

Note that the scenes tested here aren't exactly the same as the scenes tested in the backwards compatibility test here:

This is basically OT but I miss VG Tech doing actual comparisons. Like where's the Diablo 2 comparison, for example? Many other examples out there.

On topic, are the stats from the 4K mode? If yes, the 1800p mode seems kinda useless.

Btw is it me, or all 60 fps PS5 games have noticeable slowdowns when going in and out of cinematics? I have seen them in GoT, Spiderman and Ratchet. Is it something about the way the game loads from disc?

I think it's a pointless feature left over from the Pro version (it's basically a PS4 game).

IIRC, John from DF said about Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank that it was because of the additional frame (during the transition) that causes that drop. It's Insomniac's engine I guess but I could be misremembering. Not sure why that's the case with Ghost of Tsushima.

What time is it?
So there's no reason not to pick the resolution mode because it runs at 60 anyway?

I got the impression from the DF video that SP left that in the game because there are probably rare instances in the game that they discovered framerate drops in. Still seems rather pointless though.
