"CD Projekt has said it can’t guarantee that Cyberpunk 2077’s new-gen console versions will make it out this year as planned..."

The exec then pointed to The Witcher 3’s own new-gen console port, which is also due out later this year, and said the company couldn’t make guarantees about that either.

Yeah it's clear to me that CDPR have no idea how to code/port their games to consoles. I remember Witcehr 3 on PS4 ran like shit but since it was such an awesome game everyone ignored its issues, mostly. I guess if you're still waiting on 2077, just get in on PC especially if you can use DLSS. Maybe in 2 years with expansions and mods it'll be worth revisiting.

It's better they take their time and release a banger, don't make the same mistake twice

What a nightmare. I wonder what the chances are that they just end up abandoning the game and moving on.
They just stated that 170 people are now working on the "Blood & Wine" like first expansion (the number is growing) & that around 300 are still working on the base game for current & next gen

Better to be delayed and be released on a good state to make a great second impression(which the game desperately needs) than to rush it and fuck everything up again.

Playing through the game right now on a base Ps4 right now and ever since v 1.3, its perfectly playable, though still really buggy.

A shame though, because the game is great.

Put some 100 hours in on PC and had tons of fun. Disappointed with a few things, sure. Bugs wasn't one of them. Performance was a bit ... unexpected. Game was heavier than I expected (expected easy 1440p60, got only 1080p60, but with small tweaks, 1080p100 is doable for me).

I'm undecided if I just finish the game now and replay it a few years down the line. Or just keep waiting for another ~2 years once all patches and DLCs have been released.

At this point they shouldn't even think about making another game. Just close the studio. There's no way anyone would trust this dev anymore.

If you think about it, it's actually good this happened. Devs going forward should look at how bad this company mismanaged this project and strive to never be cdproject. It sucks but devs from now on should see that this shit can't happen.... Ever!

Sad man we all had huge hopes for this game.
I didn’t lol. I’m just happy we have a replacement for Halo 2 about listening to companies. I had low expectations for CP2077 because how couldn’t you when the developer never even modeled a gun or skyscraper.

None of this is surprising or disappointing to me.

smh.

So....basically they are still working on the game then? This isn't some patch and update situation, this is literally them still working on the fucking game like a full price early access thing.

For all the shit they caused, that expansion aka the REST OF THE FUCKING GAME better better be free. This is one of the rare situations where we can even say the actual thing being worked on literally is just what the game should have been based on its rushed released. To STILL be working on the game at this level means its clearly not done, not finished and core concepts are not even completed like AI, why would I believe the "expansion" is really that and not simply the rest of the fucking game that was suppose to release prior?

AI was also suppose to be in the game too, are we now at the point where we are pretending normal NPC behavior is an "extra" or "expansion" or "after the fact" type release?

Studio has gone from top of the world to an absolute laughing stock.
Human arrogance. They got too full of themselves after the success of the Witcher 3, and believed they could pull off anything without issue (never-mind Witcher 3's launch was so bug prone and badly optimized, but they got away with that). Yet they totally seemed to forget that prior to W3 their releases were considered "Eurojank" and not well polished or thought through.

So then they try to create this overambitious Cyberpunk game and end up not even close to delivering on their hyped promises. Even the thing CDPR was renowned for, story, narrative and writing, was a massive letdown from Witcher 3. So without even that accolade, what is left to be excited about?

Add to that all the technical issues because they got greedy and wanted to release this game on every piece of hardware they could think of even though that's just a terrible plan to begin with. But I'm sure they got some good money from the console makers in return (i'd sure hope at least to justify that stupidity)

People can complain all they want.

They should take time with this patch so that we can a get a well optimised and well polished experience when it launches.

Many PS5/SeriesX/S gamers like myself are holding out on buying this game in hopes that we can experience it for the first time with some next-gen touch ups like ray-tracing, significantly faster load times and much more.

Maybe you should try to better read. 170 people working on expansion (and creating new content) are not included in the 300 still working on the game, a good part of which working on next gen version, which has not released yet.

There is already plenty of high quality content in the game, I don't see why they would give away the expansion for free, especially if it is as big as the ones from Witcher 3 and since they offered refunds to anyone who was unhappy.

Excellent. I have a newborn on the way next month and won’t have time to play this until 2022.

Hopefully we can find more people to pay money to beta test this game for me so it’ll be in good shape when I’m ready for it.

Hey where's the usual Gaf parade of fans praising the delay ?? "Take all the time you need guys!" "Move the whole catalog back a year! I think that's great!" . That's what I usually see when an "exciting" delay is announced. I personally wish they would have delayed to 2027 when their true vision could be realized. Imagine we could have had more than 3 people on the sidewalk AND 1440p !

That’s such a bummer. I played on PC and enjoyed the shit out of it despite some rough edges and hilarious bugs. Highly recommended. I plan to do a second play through whenever they’re done with all the updates and expansions

Yep. There's no chance at all of The Witcher 4 being a huge (sales) success. No siree, none at all. Zero. Just forget about it. Not a single soul will buy it. They might as well give up right now and sell the rights.

The Witcher 4 will be a huge success

This is surprising. Didn' the PC version run pretty well? Not sure why they're having so much problems with the next gen ports which should be pretty similar to PC.

Yea. Give up the rights. Even if they release a witcher 4 I wouldn’t buy it. I'm completely done with this company. No way they can come back from this.
