Launches on the 25th of October.

You can now order the controllers on their website, $49.99 per controller.

It will feature the Animal Crossing DLC included in the price, and there might be more DLC's to other games that will also be included down the line.

REMEMBER, the normal price for the normal Switch online is still the same. That will not increase.

This is the expansion pass pricing:

Pricey

At least PS+ and Gold offer some "new" games.

Some old games from NES/SNES/N64 era, eh ... I dont think its enough

But will be good enough for some people, I guess

How does that work for AC DLC? That's really odd. Your sub runs out and you lose the DLC?

Depending on how that even works, it might not be the worst deal ever. Supposedly the AC DLC is $25 expansion, so if you get that the N64 games are $5 above that.

I was happy to finally have a way to play Ocarina and Starfox again, but not for a $30 increase, lol. Ocarina is my fav game of all time, but it's been 20 years since I've been able to play it. I guess I'll have to continue to wait.

Thanks Nintendo. Btw, I would have happily paid $15- $20 a pop for some of these classics. Not like this though. I want to own these games not have you holding these hostage for $50/year.

Fucking Absurd Pricing lol. Are they trying to imitate the game pass model with the free AC DLC included?

basically it's a service for geting the usual nintendo games expansions and yiou get n64 and genesis games as a bonus..problem is, there are not enough nintendo games and not enough dlc for them coming to cover for the 30 euros more each and every month...so i fail to see the value proposition

The value proposition is if you wanted to have the AC DLC anyway (it's 25 bucks to buy) and are interested in the N64 stuff it looks like an okay deal. But if you're not into AC this is kinda trash. And you lose access to the DLC once you unsubscribe so...

If you kept the DLC it'd be a solid deal actually. Even if they only do 1 expansion a year.

We had Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2 expansions, and lots of Fire Emblem DLC and that's about it. I guess Breath of the Wild got an expansion as well actually.

I think everyone need to calm down and wait to see how this will play out for the DLCs in the future because retro games are not worth 50$. There is nothing to be frustrated about, overpricing is Nintendo being Nintendo so it’s normal.

If I wanted the AC DLC its acceptable, still too high, but as I don't play AC this is a substantially higher price for some n64 and Genesis games.

Face Palm.

If this is going to have future content they needed to lay it out to make the price make sense.

In my case, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. My sub expires this month, so I would have paid $20 + $25 for the AC expansion. For $5 more I get the Genesis and N64 games.

For somebody who doesn't care about AC, $30 for those Genesis and N64 games seems to be a bit much. Hopefully they start adding games more frequently with the price increase.

That price is only something I would consider if you could play NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U games.

Tacking the DLC to the xpac is a bad move for them.

$30 would be more acceptable.

That Banjo-Kazooie "at a later date" might be very tempting, but I dunno. OoT alone might make it worth it for someone who has never played it before.

If they released Mischief Makers, they'd have a sale.

That’s a year…. 🤷‍♂️
Yes, it's not that extreme. They "shadow dropped" the price now so people can rage a bit, when they calm down, they will officially announce how all of this will work and likely add some more value to it, in the form of DLC's. Maybe even a game. It's fine.

Overpricing is exactly the reason to be frustrated with Nintendo and is the major reason why I'm moving away from them. There should at least be a different version for those of us who might not be interested in DLC bundles.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaha…

Fuck lol.

I was seriously expecting it to be £5-£10 more annually to include the N64 games.

Ludicrous Nintendo. Get rid of the lower tier at your peril, because as it is £15 a year to play Smash, Mario Kart and Splatoon online is already the absolute maximum I’ll ever be willing to pay.

For someone who just wanted access to play some n64 games this price hike is ridiculous. Don't think there's many games I would like access to DLC on whenever they release so I think I'm gonna pass on this for now. Maybe if they prove that they will add n64 games at a constant pace I'll reconsider
