This is literally one of those announced for a minority cause to have that userbase satisified - In practice, this is of very little concern. And if you were to put this in a real life war situation: Can you imagine a soldier running up to one of these specialists and then asking this person nothing about their skills, but rather; ''What gender are you? This is important to me when we go into combat.''

Literally nobody would state this. No-one. Ofcourse, you may aswell argue how crazy it is to ask these kinds of things in a real-life situation or argue that you can't compare them since Battlefield is a game that isn't reported to be a simulator, but that's kind of questions you have to ask because it can (and will) be applied as such.

What i would want to know is how many sales this kind of announcement generates amongst that minority group. How much additional revenue is generated through these kinds of announcements? EA/DICE don't state this.

One could suggest that it was a succes given they did a similar thing in BFV, after all.

Use of a trans character in the TLOU2 made a whole lot of sense, as the story was about hate of all sorts, and the calm reflection needed to overcome it. Ellie and Joel, Abbie and Ellie, Lev/Yara and their mother, the Seraphites and apostates, Isaac and the Seraphites, etc.
