I would still warn everyone from buying the PS5 version... if you have a somewhat decent PC, DO NOT GET THE PS5 VERSION! the controller aiming in this game is pure garbage and the FOV is stuck at 78° (or was it 76???)

If new ps5 games are supposed to be 70$ and this one got 10/10 from most reviewers but is already 40$ a month after the release... did reviewers lie?
Ratchet and clank dropped to £55 the same day it came out in the UK, despite rrp being £70, it also reviewed well.

Just because a game has positive reviews, doesn't mean everyone is going to buy it or that it will sell well.

I remember Wolfenstein the new collosus was half price after being out 8 days (digitally)

Also reviewed well, Bethesda games just drop price quickly.

I appreciate your insight. I still think it was BS that reviewers almost universally gave it a 10/10 as if they were paid shills, or had some agenda. I think I'll wait for it to hit game pass.

The reviewers that gave it 10/10 are not the publishers and everyone has their own opinions (most reviewers didn't give it 10/10). Not sure why you think price should be tied to score, lots of other factors come into play.

For a start I don't think the game was $70 at launch, I believe it was $60 (based on the UK price being 59.99 at launch). They also offered a significant discount before launch (10%) to PS+ subscribers.

Personally speaking, I was tempted to buy at launch, but missed the discount, so didn't want to then pay full price knowing I missed out on the discount. Once the initial launch passed, I've told myself that I may just wait until it comes to Gamepass and save myself some money. At this price I'm maybe tempted to jump in.

Other factors will no doubt have influenced other people's decisions.

15 outlets on Opencritic out of 168 gave it a perfect 10, that's less than 10%. Bit more if you count 5* as "10/10". It's not close to "universal".

Also I got Metroid Dread for 84% of the RRP on launch day, RRP doesn't mean much when you can shop around.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do think that there is a distinct Shiny New System(tm) effect in play that results in titles on recently released hardware being rated better than perhaps they deserve.

For 40 buck you'll be better of buying this. Same studio (Arkane).

Not only that you're getting one of the best experiences of the past generation in the base game, you can also get your roguelike fix with Mooncrash DLC.

Note: I have no idea how this plays on PlayStation.

What's the point of increasing price games if you're gonna drop it a month after launch??!! SMH!!!! and here's another retard decision from Jimbo.

They should have kept the same price while don't drop it after a big while.

you haven’t played the game yet, but you insist reviews are fake? What’s this nonsense about ‘agenda’?

I played this on PS5 and LOVED IT. 10/10 don't care at all I paid full price. This is a great deal for a great game. (Disclaimer: if you like games like Dishonored.)

That's not unusual. Spider-Man dropped to 35 bucks after two or three months, God of War to 29,99 after 2 months, TLOU 2 dropped fast too. I think expensive Sony games with very high marketing budget drop faster in price to get them high sales figures. Would also explain why Demons's Souls is still pretty expensive (for a Sony game).

Guessing it didn't sell well.

I wasn't enamored with the gameplay trailers, and two good friends said that it very much plays like a ten year old FPS with the roguelite or whatever mechanic added, and I trust their opinion. In fact my best friend said most of the reviews he read sounded like they were talking about some other game, because so much of what they said about the gameplay, story, acting, everything rang untrue to him after he had beaten it.

All that said, I'll wait until it's on PS+ or some other "free" service.

If the A.I. on this game was aware, it would wait a year, buy a $299 console and download and play itself for free
That’s the extent of its intelligence

I figure the price drop has to do more with trying to get more sales out of it. I don’t know. Maybe it’s not selling so well?

Or..................maybe the reviewers liked the game that much.

Interesting it would have an online sale so quickly, but I ain't gonna complain. Picked it up yesterday and played a bit. Enjoying so far but it's still early going

Shocking a game made by Arkane didn't sell well. The game doesn't look that appealing and the reason it did so well critically is probably because Sony was handing out that sweet ad money when their was no games out.
