This game will receive 85 points, just like the previous part.
The embargo is being revised two days before the release, so 90 is out of the question.
Thus, by what criteria should it be at least remotely discussed as a game of a generation?
Isn't it funny for you to say that yourself?
I'm amused you brought up a review score thinking that somehow will matter to me. Here's what matters to me more than any single review or meta score; my own experience, the gameplay, having fun, being immersed in the world, the art direction, the atmosphere etc., while buckling up for an awesome Master Chief story in the amazing Halo Universe with characters I'm a huge fan of.
What I've seen from this game already - verifiable with my own eyes and ears - and what I've heard from people I know personally and trust who have played the campaign, this game's campaign is everything I was hoping for it to be, and then some. I can confidently say it exceeded my wildest expectations. Few games have excited me as much as this one coming into this generation. I know in advance it will be one of my favorite games of the generation, just as Quantum Break was last gen. Last I looked here is Quantum Break's metacritic. When you genuinely love and enjoy a gaming experience, and buy into the full vision, gameplay and world, shit like this doesn't impact your view.
Do I still like to see games I love received well? Absolutely. My expectation is this game will review quite strongly, perhaps a little too good for your liking.
Short version: Don't waste your breath trying to damper my excitement for this game, it is destined to fail miserably. Isn't it funny you actually thought you could?
