Rumor: Rand al Thor has "heard through the grapevine" that nearly every internal studio at Xbox submitted something for the Xbox Showcase

Klobrille and others have heard the same, not that it should be a surprise. I'm just hoping the games that I want to see gameplay of don't get cut from the showcase.

Hopefully something is released this year besides Starfield and I assume Forza Motorsport. Been a dry 2022 for XGS/Bethesda studios.

How much of what's being submitted will actually be gameplay? MS has gotten out of hand with the 'in engine" and CGI trailers announcing games 3-5 years out over the last few years. I miss the days when their shows focused only on what was going to release between now and next year's show. I also miss live gameplay demonstrations, over the last generation MS turned their E3 into basically place to play trailers made for youtube, they were trying to combat the "xbox has no games" narrative by showing every 3rd party trailer they could get so by the end of the show nothing stood out.
This bullshit again? Get a new complaint. This is only brought up by sony fans. Nothing is wrong with a cg teaser. Sony has also been guilty of announcing games years ahead too, so what. Nothing wrong with people finding out certain franchises are coming back

But we're still like 2-3 years away from games announced years ago. Everwild, perfect dark, Hellblade, fable etc. So yeah, no point in showing things 3 years away. You don't have to show all your cards. Just show 2022 and 2023

This argument is old. Doing that doesn't tell people that a franchise is coming back. Example fable. Good to know its coming back instead of waiting until its a year out.

Yep they'vev announced games so early that this argument had the time to become old before the games came out...
But more seriously I am not against announcing games early but at least show some gameplay even a vertical slice representative of what the gameplay will/should be.Even if there a feature that are cut off, I can understanding that developping games is hard but CGI don't do anything, I'm no longer a gullible kid and I hope that gamers aren't but sometimes they feel like they still are.

I haven't seen (and dont want to see) any "shut the fuck up pONY's" posts in any Sony hype threads and I don't want to see it in Xbox threads. Reported.
I think it was sarcasm because knowing him he is far more team green than blue...But yeah when you don't know the poster it is sometimes really hard to get the difference between sarcasm and genuine fanboyism.I'd go even further by saying that some fanboys are seriously an genuinely posting way more crazy batshit nonsense that those sarcastics posts mocking them.

We've reached a point where the consoles are powerful enough to ditch the unrealistic CGI marketing tactics of the past. The Halo Infinite reveal was guilty of this, considering the final product. This isnt unique to Xbox, although they appear to committ more often; if Wolverine PS5 doesn't end up matching close to the non gameplay reveal then it will be just as bad.

If a realistic preview of a game isn't ready to be shown then just don't show anything. Series X and PS5 are selling out just fine without the false advertisements.

I cant even keep track of what games are made by whom, but I think a bunch of studios have barely anything shown except some CGI trailers. Need some real footage. Some of the games shown like State of Decay 3 or Perfect Dark are probably like 2025 games.

Ok.

How many of those are going to be CGI Titles/concept reveals?

How many of those are going to be Sequels/Reboots?

At least we are going to see extended Gameplay for Starfield and Hellblade right?

I am not even gonna ask about Project Dark/Fable..bro.

For real. People complain about lack of news and make threads on speculations of who’s making what like it has to be a big secret. Just put out a little cgi teaser and shut all the nerds up. Imagine the movie industry was like that? If the cgi trailers do nothing for you. So what? Wait till they show a gameplay trailer then. What harm does it cause?

I really hope something else drops this year except for Starfield, have a feeling stalker and redfall will be delayed to next year

After their CGI bullshit bonanza last time I think this will be the first time in years that I've intentionally not watched the Xbox showcase "live" (it's mostly pre-recorded these days anyway). The Playstation showcase wasn't that good either but at least it had a few bangers that semi-justified staying up/waking up early.

There should be a good amount of gameplay because they have a ton of games coming out over the next year.

Sony has done it much more. How many years between the announcement of God Of War reboot, FF7 remake, and especially Ghost of Tsushima before the games came out? Several.

Now can we please get a Playstation showcase announced with the resurgence of Konami IPs!?!?!
Probably the wrong thread to ask for PlayStation games. Sony has mostly announced the lineup this year. Might be a few games left but most were announced last year

Hobbygaming

has been asked to post in 'Grounded' mode.

Sony will still have a big show in May or June for some games releasing this year, 2023 and beyond

Hopefully, they'll have something for 2022. I can't think of any Xbox games that released this year or will release besides Starfield.

Yea after Jedi fallen order my faith in star wars was renewed for games. Hope Amy hennig’s game gets the support it deserves unlike the cancelled one she did also via EA.

FO was such a fun and well crafted game. I'm about to dive into another playthrough with the next gen version just dropping. I'm going to step up the difficulty a notch too.

Sounds like Amy has been jumping around a bit in recent years and I think the new title was only announced this year, so probably pretty far out. Hopefully it goes the distance as it seems her last 3 or so projects/studios have fizzed out.

Why? The Last Star Wars game Respawn made was a 3rd person single player game, no Multiplayer.

Have you played Apex Legends? Extrapolate that into a Star Wars game with animals and vehicles etc. They have the chops with campaign and multiplayer. Titanfall 1 multiplayer with titans, Titanfall 2 campaign and BT, Fallen Order, Apex Legends and solid content sustain/support to boot. Respawn literally have a triforce of proven video game development across single player and two PvE multiplayer styles. Honestly there is no other developer I'd be more excited about to helm a Star Wars game.

Who knows what the Mando game would entail. Solo, coop, PvP, PvE etc. Could be anything. I'd be interested in a Respawn take on an online coop based campaign style game.

Even though i put a fair few hours into Battlefront 1 and 2, i'd rather see single player Star Wars games to be honest.
Star Wars has such a rich universe that it seems a bit of a waste to use the license for a multiplater shooter, or BR, etc, without any real story.
Thats just me though.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Hopefully, they'll have something for 2022. I can't think of any Xbox games that released this year or will release besides Starfield.

Redfall, Scorn, Motorsport (likely), STALKER 2 (less likely). Probably more at the showcase for 2022.

Great news. If even ONE reveal is on par with Crackdown 3's fully destructible environments reveal 7 or 8 years ago, this will be THE event that defines the Series X generation and every single one of us will be talking about this for the next decade. Strap-in boys, girls, and others, the next generation begins now.

I'm sorry my opinion doesn't match with yours, but I'll say what I want to say I don't have to change my point of view because you are frustrated by the truth. MS NEVER used to do this until the xbox one came around after that they started announcing games so far out that several of them were cancelled. Sony does it from time to time yes but usually a game gets delayed they don't generally announce with a CGI trailer anymore and I can't remember the last time they did. It is wrong for either company to knowingly announce games that are 3-5 years out though especially when you won't have gameplay to show for at least 2-3 years later. If someone wants to do something like show a CGI trailer to announce then show a gameplay trailer soon after that's one thing, to show a CGI trailer before the game is really truly in development is just a bad move. Mortal Kombat 11 had a CGI trailer and gameplay shown very soon after I was fine with that, the remake for Destroy all Humans 2 had a CGI and gameplay trailer the same day that was great but doing CGI and then going quiet for years sucks.

There's literally no reason in the world to show games that are years away. No other industry does this, because it is a pointless waste of money. MS has had a nasty habit of hyping up their shows as in "THIS year is the big show you've all been waiting for", then immediately afterwards, Phil comes out and says that NEXT year's show is going to be really big! Enough is enough with the promises. They bought these studios years ago at this point. Time to start showing games that will actually see daylight before 2024.

No other industry does it because consumers in those industries dont get hyped up and preorder products 4 years away unless it's a new house off a blueprint and you got to fight off others buying that dream home.

But some reason in video games, gamers do that and it'll influence them what console to buy to prep up for Sniper Zombie Shooter 8 coming out in 2026.

As crazy as it seems, in 2013 during Xbox One hype, you could had pre-ordered Below for $60 at Future Shop. The game released in 2018 for $30.

Not sure what to make of this. I’d assume a majority of their studios submit things for these big shows every year, then the higher-ups select what to actually include.
