God of War Ragnarok Acessebility Features Revealed

My point stands.

PS5 is the only console that actively blocks adaptive tech.

Because a controller is the only type of accessibility?

If you want to be arbitrary and decide a controller is the only thing that matters when it comes to accessibility then go for your life.

I never meant it like that and if that's how it comes across than yeah, I need to rethink how I rant about this lol.

My point has always been that A: it's weird to promote accessibility this hard the way Sony does, whilst also having this massive flaw within the realm of motor accessibility and B: the simple act of blocking things that aid in motor accessibility feels full on hostile.

Maybe I should have rephased it. I don't mean offense to other people with other needs. It's just been a huge frustration of mine with the console and I often feel the need to vent about it.

Looking at this comparison...it looks so much better now. Before the characters looked like they had a weird green screen behind them...now they actually look blended in the environments...don't know how to explain it better, lol

I'm happy these games have all of these options and there is nothing wrong with it...

...But seeing Sony act like they value accessibility, whilst still having the least accessible console currently on the market really chaps my ass.
What are you talking about? The game is on PS4 so you statement is already false.

Unless you want the game to be availble on Xbox, then you should instead go ask MS to create some games.

If you're implying all those began and completed development during covid lockdowns, that ain't it chief.

I think your refusing to believe that COVID still could have had an impact on those games development. It just wasn’t enough to delay those games outside those windows. Of course I agree that COVID didn’t affect everyone the same. Some studios were able to manage it better than others.

No shit Sherlock. He's saying that they were still able to release those titles despite COVID.

Bingo. Whatever the impact of COVID was it wasn’t enough to delay those titles further. It’s why we still had games release during the pandemic.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Keep moving that goalpost!

Huh ? the user said "Sony are killing it" and "they put out all these games" while listing names most of which were third party games and using it as a zinger for how Covid didn't impact them.

But Sony did still manage to release games despite the pandemic.

Ok, just about all major studios did, delays and whatnot included.

Jesus he's whinier than before, this character needs his head ripped off or something, if this is par the course for the game this will get annoying.
IF you think he's bad now, wait till he gets all loved up with his new love interest.

One of the segments will see you take control of him picking flower petals off one at a time.

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Sony delayed games and they still had
Kena, Deathloop (lol) Ratchet & Returnal ready to go for PS players last year.

Then Sifu, GT7, GhostWire Tokyo (lol), HFW, now GOW, then Forpoken & likely PSVR2? All through COVID?

They’re fucking killing it right now…
ALL those games since the PS5 launch.
Its actually pretty remarkable. I look at my PS5 game library since launch and am so confused why some people say its slow.

Pretty much but it’s still nice we had some good games over the last couple of years instead of losing them to COVID.

What’s done is done.

i want proof, platinum it after release, you're not a true game if it's not done in 24 hours. :messenger_heart:

I platinum'd HFW but didn't platinum the GoW 2018, lets see how tough and/or grindy the Ragnarok ones are.

also 24 hrs come on man, i have a house and family to run :D

I have to say, since the gaming industry started the cinemafication trend in the X360 era, we did a remarkable slow progress, even closed captions are to this day not a standard in AAA games.

Honestly I love these... I will never use them because I don't need them, but I always think it's a great inclusion for any game to have these extra options.

Sometimes accessibility features actually are nice for those of us who don't need accessibility. Subtitles didn't exist in games until people realized the deaf enjoyed gaming, but we all benefitted from being able to switch on subs. Some of the icon/text resizing features will be beneficial when playing on small displays or streamed to a handheld. Audio cues and other features might also have similar side-benefits. It can't be cheap to do some of this work (a few things are just toggles that nobody thought of before, but others take some special care to make happen,) but it's a clear good to have these things in a game.

And my most favorite, holding down buttons in button spamming gameplay events.

i platinumed the first god of war, 2 things that were tough, trying to find all the little birds/ravens and the last valkyrie boss fight.

Was one hell of a fight, i really hope they have something similiar.

I loved you could just remove them in Spoderman Remastered, so on PS5 I just enjoyed the cutscenes without weird jumps because I reacted too fast to the QTE.

On-topic: I really need to get around to actually finishing GoW 2018.

This actually makes me want to do this right now because I fuck up those car chase button mashing QTE's about 60% of the time.

You are correct, PS4 doesn't restrict things, and I have either used remote play or just played the PS4 versions on PS5 thus far.

But this is likely the last major PS4 game. Going forward I'll have to use remote play and that sucks with input lag. Unless Sony lifts the restrictions.

May have to eventually get a good PC setup going, assuming Sony eventually goes full PC. Although currently a PC setup is difficult in my specific situation

If somehow they manage to pull of a God of War and a The Last of Us this year it'll honestly be...something. Plus Forspoken.

Next year Spider-Man 2 during the fall will be enough to sell those units...but they still have Final Fantasy XVI earlier in the year (still don't think it's coming this year) and i'm sure plenty other games...

You know, I hadn’t even mentioned the ACTUAL launch PS5 games, as well, but the ones I did mention from 2021, 3 of which are NEW IP.

I’m sure, late this year/early next year Sony will focus on NAUGHTY DOG (specifically the multiplayer component) and what they have outside of FFXVI. They’re DYING to release something…

Once again, the vision and foresight of Sony is incredible.

SSM really does take it to heart…

Seriously. The GALLS on some folk brother…

People are seriously unappreciative these days. No one else is doing what Sony has done when it comes to locking down QUALITY exclusive content at a CONSISTENT rate, be it publishing, developing or tracking 3rd party progress.

They’re a punished-sensei level right now lol.

I'm happy more people are able to play the game, but why are tons of major releases tripping over themselves to mention this stuff? MS has put it on by default for the past few games by them I have played.

Its the lighting and environmental detail.

Edited to add: also much more background detail and look at the fur. Its just much more believable.
