How else are you going to have a $400 headset with those specs? No wire for the price point means a very subpar VR or a very expensive one. It needs the PS5 hardware.Shame the thing has a wire though. Kind of kills it for me.

Nice I really hope we see something soon.
Your trap is asking for AAA games so let's just ignore that because it discludes some games that need to be on this list. The extra box sits behind the console so no biggie. The only cable that is bothersome is the cable attached to the VR unit itself.
Has Sony fully confirmed it will be a usb C cable and that’s it? Haven seen that yet but fingers crossed
So what software was strong?
How many AAA games were fully playable in VR?
Wipeout, resident evil? What else? I know loads of games had addon features like GT sport but it got boring racing one car round the circuit.
It would have worse image quality otherwise. What would you prefer?Shame the thing has a wire though. Kind of kills it for me.
They could have had a port on the hmd so they could let people spend some more money on an addon that had a battery and wifi pack and have something like the dlink vr air bridge. Kinda like how the ssd expansion on the console was a good idea. The wifi options are something your going to see mentioned in reviews going forward as pico and meta will both have the option and valves next vr device is rumored to be standalone with wifi connectivity. How else are you going to have a $400 headset with those specs? People with old routers? There is a reason Quest 2 came out with link cables.
Christ on a bike that would be astronomically expensive.Sony be smart to bundle them with ps5, might beable to get a ps5 at retail then.
Yup, but might keep scalpers off it. Also make some desperate people buy the vr just to get a ps5.Christ on a bike that would be astronomically expensive.
I won't be buying one, sorry.Good, I’ll take yours.
Not sure why wanting a wireless device brings out such negativity.
I wish the Quest Pro didn't cost so much, but yeah, it looks hella legit. For me the real issue is the bulk of that thing, just like with all VR headsets so far. After seeing the small size of the upcoming Quest Pro, all other headsets now look horribly unwieldy.
That’s how a VR headset should look. Everything else looks like a Virtual Boy in comparison.
If I have to sacrifice certain aspects of the quality to go wireless, so be it. And for the record, you don't. Wireless works really well with AirLink so long as you are close to your router. Have used it a number of times with my Quest 2 via PC VR.How else are you going to have a $400 headset with those specs? No wire for the price point means a very subpar VR or a very expensive one. I'd gladly take a reduction is specs versus an immersion breaking wire, but you really don't have to tbh. AirLink works really well in the PC space. It would have worse image quality otherwise. What would you prefer?
Good luck stopping the light going through with that sizeFor me the real issue is the bulk of that thing, just like with all VR headsets so far. After seeing the small size of the upcoming Quest Pro, all other headsets now look horribly unwieldy.

Well yeah, give the customer options. Play native on the headest, wired into the PC, or wireless with your PC via router. Seems like a good thing to give consumers options.Cables kills it for me.... ...gotta go put my order in for Quest 2 link cables. People keep pooping on the PSVR 2 because of the cables. There is a reason Quest 2 came out with link cables.
Link cables will not kill it for me. Over pricing it will. Under $500 and I am day one if the preorder gods smile on me.
Good that's one less person clicking on pre order buttonI won't be buying one, sorry.

I have already given up on PSVR and am waiting for PSVR2 (I think Sony has too) so I'm out of the loop. let me list some games that I think deserve to be ported to PCVR or given the backwards compatibility treatment from my PSVR gaming history.
Blood and Truth,
Astrobot Rescue Mission,
Firewall Zero Hour, (Needs Aim controller for maximum fun)
Farpoint, (also needs Aim controller)
Rush of Blood,
Statik,
Everybodys golf (needs a second crack at the whip imo)
Iron Man.
There would be more I guess but they have already been ported to PCVR which makes this list smaller than it would have been a 2 or 3 years ago, but each of these games are fuly fledged VR games and are better than most VR games IMO. This is the type of base level quality I want from VR games.
Why does that matter? Not all good games are AAA and not all AAA are good games.realistically how many of them are AAA games?
Why does that matter? Not all good games are AAA.
And I specifically dismissed your question as a trap. AAA does not equal a good game. A good game does not need to be AAA.I asked specifically what AAA games are on PSVR. you respond with some ok games but nothing is a system seller and my point is the software side is weak not the hardware
I wouldn't count on it to be honest. The actual PSVR2 itself was just shown on some random day out of the blue. I don't think a price would be showcase worthy. Will most likely be a part of a PS Showcase I feel. Would make sense to reveal price and release date this way, just like the PS5.
And I specifically dismissed your question as a trap. AAA does not equal a good game. A good game does not need to be AAA.
Some of the best games I played the past 2 gens have been AA. Short, but fulfilling experiences as well. Something I much prefer for VR, not saying I wouldn't play a long AAA banger, but it would take me forever since I don't prefer long VR sessions compared to traditional gaming. And I specifically dismissed your question as a trap. AAA does not equal a good game. A good game does not need to be AAA.
How to tell me you have no experience with VR games without telling you have no experience with VR games.AAA are the system Sellars. most of the games are epieriences not games. there is no God of War type seller for VR as of yet. nothing on VR at the moment ia A MUST they are just fun and that's the problem on the software side
Unless the options weaken the over all experience.Well yeah, give the customer options. Play native on the headest, wired into the PC, or wireless with your PC via router. Seems like a good thing to give consumers options.
Porting pancake games to VR is a pretty aweful experience, apart from a few most people would ratger play those games on a TV because the VR experience is uncomfortable.Ahh, so did we imagine Rockstar implementing VR in older GTA games and saying they're gonna continue implementing it on more games?
And you think it's a pipe dream that we'll get GT7 playable in VR, when GT Sport already had a VR mode? Or that Sony could implement a VR play/spectate mode into MLB which is being put on all platforms under the sun? Or that they could have a dedicated Spider-Man VR experience (or mode in Spider-Man 2), when Insomniac has plenty of VR experience and Sony have already made a Spider-Man PSVR experience for a movie tie-in? Link
lol, sure thing bud. It's all a pipe dream
I can basically buy a PS5 + PSVR2 + Racing wheel just for one game. Everything else will be a nice bonus.Really hope GT7 is a launch title. Got my 500 already put away for when the preorders go up
It doesn't. As long as you have a decent router and its close to your headset, AirLink works like a charm and I've never noticed any perceived input lag that would make the experience otherwise worse. Imagine if you had a newer Wifi6 router and a headset compliant with that, would be even better.Unless the options weaken the over all experience.
Correct.Hey guys, I heard there is a visually inferior device called the Quest. You should check it out.
I also heard PSVR2 has one cable, this true?
Quest? I've heard something about it. Playing on Quest 2 for 2 years now.Hey guys, I heard there is a visually inferior device called the Quest. You should check it out.

It will vary from game to game and from implementation to implementation. For example, RE8 seems to have gotten overwhelmingly positive impressions from those who tried it on PSVR2 recently.
You'd have to go through 'em to check. I watched several videos and don't recall too many comments on the users VR legs.In those impressions was it addressed what tolerance the testers had? I mean people that have high tolerance are going to have more positive impressions.
PSVR2 and RE8 might greatly improved the comfort level, but I have my doubts the motion sensing tech in PSVR2 seems comparable to the quest 2.
However I dont doubt that RE8 will be one of the better pancake ports considering capcoms experience with VR.
Most of the impressions I've listened too have said that RE8 feels similar to boneworks and half life Alyx with some of its own new additions. You'd have to go through 'em to check. I watched several videos and don't recall too many comments on the users VR legs.
I don't know how you can say it doesn't without having the knowledge of the PSVR 2 unit.It doesn't. K.But still, most people are going to prefer playing pancake games on TV's because it is a better experience.
Airlink doesn't work like a charm. There a bunch videos online on " how to make the games look less blurry using airlink"It doesn't. I'd wager "the worst" are the people who speak about things they have no experience with. As long as you have a good router and take the steps to have a good experience with AirLink, you will. If you have a shit router or stand too far away because its in another room, or you are on the 2.4ghz band, then you won't have a good time.Airlink doesn't work like a charm. You guys are the worst is like the PC players like to flex 4k 120fps when they can barely get a decent framerate at 4k.
I was talking about the Quest 2. AirLink being mentioned specifically should have keyed you into the fact I wasn't talking about the PSVR2.I don't know how you can say it doesn't without having the knowledge of the PSVR 2 unit.

The popular thing right now in pc vr scene are mods for games like re2 re3 read dead. And so on, and these mods doesn't have the backing of big studios. Don't listen to this dude. His agenda is clear as TuesdayVR will present a unique and new way for folks to experience these games. The benefit to Sony of pushing a hybrid approach is that all the users who own these games to play on TV will eventually build up a library of games that are PSVR2 compatible, and will entice some to invest in a VR headset so they can experience the games they own in a completely different way. It also offers a unique selling point available to PlayStation gamers that could sway buying decisions for people to buy certain games on their platform instead of another one if they get the TV version and a PSVR2 version all in one.
It's fine if "most" people will prefer to play on TV. There's no way to tell just how many will want to experience the games in VR at this point in time.

Horror games in VR>>>> flat screenOh I know which way they lean on the subject. I'll still try to inject some reason into the discussion though
100%Horror games in VR>>>> flat screen
Not up for debate. How many people wish alien Isolation had a native VR port? That's all I could hear when the game got revealed.
