C6 Childe (well really C4 or above would be fine) made easy work of the Pyro Cube boss in the event. The fact that he tags the enemy with Hydro and it automatically erupts every few seconds took away a lot of the concern with keeping the shields down etc.

I'm ready for 3.3 to be over already, and it hasn't even dropped yet. I am not confident I'm going to enjoy the card game, and the rest of the content seems just like normal primogem dressing. Even if I enjoy Scara in the trial, I'm skipping him to send a message and I'll pick him up on a rerun or something down the line.

Really hoping we get Dehya's kit verification leaks soon.

I put 3 hydro chars against him lmao.

Nahida: EM or Dendro cup?

Also, for characters that deal damage while switched to another character, does the crit stats apply based on the active character or the character whose skill is active?

Does Nahida need to be the active character for her C2 ability to work?

Probably EM unless you're using her on-field. Otherwise, her reactions will benefit more from EM and as the redditors did the math, there really isn't a softcap.

Her C2 crit stats are fixed, so your characters' stats don't matter at all for those, outside of Spread. They will increase her on-field Spread damage crits though if you're playing her as a carry. For reactions, it's always the hit that triggers the reaction whose stats are important. I could have a 1000 EM Shogun, but if Kusanli triggers spread, then that EM does nothing. If Aggravate is triggered though, then Shogun's EM stat matters.

Which one do you think is more likely and if both which one do you think will come first?

Multi weapon character - Can use more than one weapon types. Not like Childe but weapon is chosen in the weapon menu and moveset will be based on chosen weapon.
Multi element character - Can weild more than one element. Switch can be based on some mechanic.

Neither. Goes against their money making plans, and they have been making their characters more specialized and niche since launch, not more universally usable.

I do think we'll eventually see a brand new weapon type or two though, once the 5 we have are sufficiently saturated and everybody has F2P options that are usable. Gotta keep that weapon banner attractive somehow.

I don't think either is very likely.

Another multiple weapon/stance character like Childe may happen, but a character with actual multiple "equipable" weapons means more animations, plus it could introduce balance issues.

A multiple element character would be a major change in how the game is balanced. New characters seem more specialized rather than flexible, so it would require a big change in design philosophy to implement.

There will come a time when they will run out of ideas for single weapon single element characters and players will start moving on. They will do it then. It may take time but it will still happen.

Childe is the creator favorite char, so is unlikely seeing someone close to his kit.

Childe is the only Hydro that don't have hit point mechanic like any other does if I'm right.

Its not like the game is oversaturated of ideas, with characters kit being similar to one another and the main story being about the same in terms of how things starts and ends.
The selling point still is the characters, but there will be a time when players will had enought of lamish and tame designs. The future is not bright for a game that doesn't even priotize quality of life changes(maybe by the end of 2070 we can use multiple gadgets slots), let alone jump into the a new type of weapon. If theres something to call this game is this over repetitiviness of ideas. And thats not to say theres not good stuff in there, the Fungus event was one of rare moments when they actually came with a fresh new idea(I would say the quest is pretty much what drags down the whole thing). They could pretty much expand this and take away the stupid quest.

I think they've been playing it boring on purpose with this in mind. Having different characters from different elements that basically do the same thing with different animations and whatnot. Like can anybody argue that shield characters aren't primarily used for their shield and the rest is just window dressing? Anemo characters seem to be the only ones that they design with gameplay fun in mind. Despite numbers and performance, I think the only "fun" non-anemo character we got in the past year was Yelan. At least Nilou had a unique mechanic, but they had to go about it in the most limiting and frustrating way.

I think starting maybe in Fontaine, maybe in Natlan, we'll see more "stance" characters that have different movesets after "turning on" their elemental skill or burst.

Looks like it's gonna be steampunk and halfway underwater. Fucking HYPE. Those circles are going to likely be gears and chains/tracks etc. Maybe Sumeru isn't getting a full .8 version?

A steampunk or mechanized design would provide a nice contrast to the Fern Gully and Ancient Egypt themes we've seen in Sumeru. It also allows to them to put some space between faux France and faux Germany by having them represent pre- and post-industrialized western Europe.

Also, as we were talking about the other day with new weapon types, I'm almost entirely sure that either in Fontaine or Shehznaya we'll see:

The last areas of Chapter III part V had the heavily industrial area leading up to Scara so areas of Genshin have that kind of tech.

Apparently I missed some leaks. I had no idea Alhaitham was 3.4. I thought that it was still one of the "no new character" patches. Honestly, I'm not sure I believe it considering how barren his kit data was in the megaleak during 3.1.

But fuck that, I definitely am not touching that "wish" button in 3.3, even if they're mostly wrong.

I'm definitely expecting a new 5 star for 3.4. Can't have the holiday season without a shiny new character, right? People gotta spend their new year's money. Baizhu would have made more sense to me though, what with the Liyue theme they always have going on.

I'm a little surprised it wasn't Hu Tao/Yelan & Shenhe/Zhongli. That seems like the perfect Liyue banner schedule for CNY, with Yaoyao being the freebie + can roll for constellations if you want.

Alhaitham doesn't make sense in that patch whatsoever. As long as they're not pushing Dehya back I don't give a shit though.

Three things:

- Alhaitham early means they aren't confident in his banner/kit or expecting to flop
- Deyha later means they understimate her popularity, go changes here and there to make her kit more appealing, at least more different than Dilluc.
- The 'back to the old way we release patches' can be a double edge sword since 2023 is packed with so many games that even any stable GAAS are getting afraid. Not to mention 2023 will release a game they litelary copy/paste.

Been doing research trying to figure out if I want to get Raiden alone or go for constellations. By the time her rerun arrives I should have enough wishes to hit guaranteed pity, a 50/50 and then another pity. But using all that would hamper my ability to pull others in the following month(s).

I'm thinking of getting Raiden and seeing how the 50/50 plays out. If I win the 50/50 and don't have to use too many wishes to get there then gambling once more would be worthwhile (regardless of outcome). If it takes too many wishes then I'll bow out until her next rerun and if I lose the 50/50 it's fine because I'm in good position for the next banner I want to pull on.

I need to start fishing so I can get The Catch and have it ready to go for her too...

On one hand, your account is relatively new and wishes would probably be better spent increasing your roster depth, on the other Raiden has some good constellations, particularly if you are planning to use her as a burst DPS. If you are using her as an electro applier and off field support, I wouldn't worry about constellations just yet. Just my 2c.

Imo constellations are a waste, but that's just my opinion.
It really depends on the character. I wouldn't recommend constellations in general for F2P players unless you are 100% sure you like the character and plan on using them a lot. Sometimes C1/C2 are huge improvements for characters' usability though, like when they add another use of an elemental skill or something along those lines.

Then there's characters like Albedo and Itto whose constellations are mostly crap.

I wouldn't even consider going hard on one character's banner if it wasn't for her early constellations actually being really good. Her being one of THE characters I'm playing the game for is a factor too. Though if it was c4 or more for those increases it'd be way too much of an investment.

Maybe we'll have some insight into what's coming in January-February by the time of her banner that'll sway me one way or the other.

Why do you think that? Seems in MHY's best interest to have an appealing character on during Chinese new year, when people are free from work, playing games and have money to burn.

Raiden's C2 is very strong, but her C1 doesn't seem very special to me. Unless you're willing to go all the way to C2, I wouldn't invest in cons right now. Not when there's so many other characters you're gunning for.

Based on the leaked kit, I don't think he will be doing wonders. Just my guess. They seems pretty happy with Nahida already.

Those leaks didn't sound great, but they're also just leaks. You specifically mentioned the timing being bad. I don't see that.

But the timing is bad. I mean, as I said before, just my guess. I would prefer delay for more polish on his build or either put him next to another rerun, unless they don't care that much.
I don't recall leaks getting wrong in this departament. Events don't usually come back soon. If they're right, we gonna get the pkmn event more soon than any other in the history of Genshin Impact.

Remember, we live in a game that totally accept Yoimiya flop. Those things take time and resource, aka money.

edit: Just to be sure, I never said will be the 'end of the world' for GAAS, just like they're gonna fight tought competition next year compared with 2022 poor list of gaming. Trying to figure out some decisions here and there. As I said, MYH can simple ignore that as usual and push their plans foward and foward.

We don't know if a delay would even improve him in any way. Him being the main draw for the Lunar NY update is about the best shot he's got at being good IMO.

Agree, but neither rushing things thats for sure. Anw, just speculation from my part. Nothing to be worry.

So I waited until the Dendro cube was out to finish the cube challenge event. Hot damn was it a wakeup call with how poorly the hydro cube's design is, compared to the relatively inoffensive dendro cube.

Even knowing exactly what to do, it took me 3x longer to finish the hard mode Hydro cube fight. The tiny ass damage windows make that probably one of my least favorite fights in the entire game. Thank god I will probably never have to fight it again.

Anyways, I liked that challenge, it wasn't bad. The obvious noticeable improvement was that they got rid of the fucking timer, hallelujah.

Its weird that the first thing came to our minds was "Hydro will be totally easy cake compare to dumb Dendro that requires a dendro just to win". Who would guess electro is almost useless against it? That water blob is almost unstoppable if you didn't freeze it.

Yea when I had to farm the Hydro cube for Kokomi, I quickly noted that this was a Ganyu boss. I guess Ayaka might also be good? But Ganyu is the ideal character that fight. Again though, the downside is that in this challenge especially, the windows of time where the core was vulnerable were absolutely tiny. I could barely get off one fully charged Ganyu shot per core reveal, which is just absolutely unfun bullshit. Then in this challenge they added all of the randomly placed trap bubbles and kept those fucking dolphins spawning even when the core was exposed. Just a huge amount of unfun bullshit designed to annoy you, and everybody knows how I feel about bosses that are invulnerable for 90% of the fight.

Dendro cube improved on this quite a bit by having the core exposed for longer periods of time, and the attack phases weren't as long and drawn out. I liked the mechanic of using Dendro/Electro to turn the poison zones into healing and boss damaging zones. Fits with the theme, and makes the fight more complex without making it unfun.

Hydro is probably the worst of all the cubes, followed by Cryo then Geo. In my opinion at least. But I can't stress that in order of the worst, it's:
Hydro >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cryo >>> Geo > the rest. Most people probably hated the Pyro cube, but Childe made that one a cakewalk to farm.

My only problem was this 2 days delay between challenges and the rewards. The cube challenge really got much better.

New monthly wishes are up.
I needed some currency for them so I did 2 pulls, got a Widsith copy and a Heizou. Pretty good for me.
Now 5 more blue wishes for soft pity in standard banner...

Gonna wait for Alhaitham if he is really good or not.

And you remember me about the blue wishes. Gonna soft pity as well.

Think they need to add another world level.

Did storm terror in under a minute.

Wolf spent more time running in his circle than both stages combined.

Did a round against Childe and didn't use the regular attack button once.

You're almost there.

My records are 7 charged shots from Ganyu for Stormterror, 1HKO wolf with Eula's burst. Childe has the annoying forced stance changes so not much to improve on there.

Even if you can't 1HKO the wolf, if you do enough burst damage at the beginning phase, it will skip his running around phase entirely. It happens to me when Eula's burst doesn't crit sometimes.

I'd rather see enemies become more aggressive and get new moves personally than just tacking on more stats and HP sponging the enemies for another world level, but we all know which method is easier for the devs.

I remember having to actually learn boss mechanics back in 1.0 before we could take them down in a few hits.

Either I was slacking or they added new characters to old furnishing sets, you might want to check the gift furnishing sets to see if you can squeeze a few more primos out of your teapots.
