Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking terrible PC ports and their motherfucking stuttering!

The problem is:

WHY THE FUCK DO YOU GUYS BUY PC GAMES DAY ONE???

As a rule of thumb wait 6 months to a year to get the superior and way cheaper experience. Hell maybe it's on gsmepass by then.

The software industry is all about releasing broken shit that will eventually be fixed (minimum viable product)

Just adapt and pay the minimum viable price for said games down the line.

Or, better yet, test it thoroughly before your two hours is up and refund it if it doesn't run well.

Switch to Linux and compile shaders there, the amount of games that host don't have these issues is wild.

I assume you have to completely halt everything to compile the shader if you do it on demand. That's why the stuttering is happening.
i'd also add Denuvo to the equation as a potential performance hazzard. A lot of the frame drops i've seen people complaining about gave me RE Village vibes.

Many people talk about how great the PS5 and Series X make games look (which for their power they do ok) but I am convinced most of those people have never seen these games on a monster PC as Warzone and even Battlefield 2042 are literally night and day differences

One of the best looking games I have ever seen in RDR2 with realism mods on a beastly PC

Ok so a few games stutter because of lazy devs and as much as I love my PS5/Series X nothing beats a game running on a nice PC
Agreed on WZ. I have it for both pc and ps5 and it looks very different on pc. In saying that tho, the PS version is far more stable.

DF said in the video that the issue went away when replaying a level.
Its just that in the Gman Lives review he mentioned some parts of the game running at really low frames rather than the compilation stutter.
He wasn't very detailed tho so i could be misunderstanding what he meant.

Even WZ2 has major stutters on a high end PC and COD games never have issues like this.
They are every 420 seconds so definitely a shader issue or memory leak issue sometimes they are 200ms stutters. Truly gamebreaking if you happen to be in a gun fight at the time

I've switched to console gaming years ago partially because of not wanting to deal with technical issues on a lot of PC games. Sure, these days it's not perfect even on the consoles and some releases are clusterfucks on all platforms, but it's still less stressful.

Pc gaming in 2022 sounds just like 2002 when I went console exclusive.. every game the same technical BS🤣 glad I stopped investing in PCs, also saved me a lot of money.

Depends on your budgets, but with DX12 there are pipelines in place...which rarely plays nice with UE, and is heavily dependent on optimized code that this particular title clearly lacks. There are plenty of UE games that don't have this issue, but the ones that really seem to suffer from it the most were in development during the transition from DX11 to DX12. Look at a game like Gears 5, it ran perfectly fine until the DX12 updates started.
That's why one of the suggested fixes for CP is rolling back to DX11, lol.

Maybe compiling on DX11 is a lot faster?

So the X is missing RT shadows and still runs worse than the PS5 - how df does that happen? Sounds like shit optimization to me.

Anyone know if it works with quick resume on the X..?
Whats the resolution for the X in perf mode?

Even Series X/S seem to have issues. I kinda figured this might happen when they had actually people from Sony working on it. This one seems like a hard pass on anything but PS5 till it's patched up.

It's literally getting patched on PC today. They just announced it.

Get a PS5 and a Switch OLED. Problem solved.

I am not sure exactly here what you all trying to accomplish here. If someone has a good PC that they have invested a decent chunk of money into then they have every right NOT to buy a PS5 or XSX for the better performance here. The issue here are shitty programmers/developees who cant optimize for shit. Stop telling people to go get a console if they are having stuttrirng issues and start punishing bad PC ports/optimizations instead. The "Go Buy PS5" advice sounds boring, outlandish and down right fanboyish.

This is someone as who owns PS5/XSX and a PC. Yes, PS5 is great but thar doesn't mean someone should go buy one when they have an amazing or above average PC.

Reason why I have a PC? Video production work mostly. And the only I game play on there is WoW. Everything else I play on Console simply because my PC is equipped with a 1660 Ti and I have no reason to upgrade. Hence, why I use Consoles for gaming.

Even if I did upgrade my PC I still prefer console due to convenience. However, as I said previously if someone spent a lot of money on a gaming PC then stuttering is unacceptable and developers should be ashamed. The whole point of an expensive PC is to have an insane powerhouse without issues.

They are going to be losing extra customers like that pretty quickly on those who prefer PC gaming.

Man, Warzone had a substantial amount of issues on PC. A game THAT large, still having issues. Warzone 2 has been even worse for me, personally. Crashes, weird performance spikes, etc. I feel like there's been a large number of missteps in modern game development. Like others have said, this isn't a PC issue, it's a developer and development issue.

The Office Thank You GIF

its the goddamn "if you want 60fps buy a PC" thread all over again. I even specifically worded this thread to not attack PC but the developers who didn't optimize for PC well.

I already have a console and i would have bought a PS5 if i could (still broke...) but i'm doing that for exclusives, not fucking multiplats. If you're making a multiplat it's your job to make sure your game is optimized for all of the platforms you will be porting it to, for Xbox and PS5 this is the case, for PC not. I get that PC is a vast, diverse platform with millions of possible hardware configurations to consider, but surely a production backed up by millions of dollars have enough resources and money to buy a dozen test benches. Especially considering that gamers nexus and hardware unboxed seem to have an endless supply of them....

yes even the worst PC port will run better than the most optimized console exclusive but that doesn't mean they can slack off and give us stutterfests that compile shaders more slowly than a grandma covered in molasses trying to play tetris. They have never had this issue in the past so what the fuck is happening now? Fucks sake, even Minecraft Java with its 2009 codebase running on an engine not meant for video games still stutters less.
PC « gamers », ladies and gentlemen!

Also PC « master » race. 🤡🤷‍♂️
shut the fuck up. genuinely
all you seem to do is try and shit on PC guys for playing on the platform they perfer. You don't seem to contribute any meaningful discussion outside of just that. if you dont like us you don't like us but we didn't do anything to deserve this. Stick your nose in some other thread, one that has to do with consoles ideally

Please, don't bully the N64.
the games it had looked better than any other console of the time. Did any Playstation have a looker on par with Conker? they needed a fucking whole generational jump to match that and even then rare came back swinging with the remake on xbox but i digress

whether or not that justifies the common low framerates the console had is up to you though...
Why fight? The solution has not changed. Experience real happiness on the PlayStation 5
why don't you go play with your 'station' (slim edition) and experience the happiness of seeing your favorite actors in God of Cum ragnawank

Nah, pretty much everything I can play on PC instead has run better so far, or otherwise least more to my liking; turning off RT in Gotham knights so I can enjoy the game at 60 fps is great. Same with plague tale, 60 fps rats > 40fps ones.

etc.

To play on day one. I don't care about most games six months after they're released.
Steam/EGS have a great refund policy.
Just about any game can be had at a discount on other key sites. There's no reason to wait six months for a sale when there's a sale day one.
