I had to deal with one of these PlayStation Experts the other day. Not a pleasant experience.....I'm sorry to say.

Edit: Details.....

I was attempting to download The Witcher 3. I bought it a couple of years ago on sale for $15. So I went to my Game Library on my PS5, but I didn't see it there. I went to the PSN store and found the game there and the interface didn't say "Download" or "Buy". It said "Play Game". I click "Play Game" and it comes up with this error message indicating that the game was on a USB drive and couldn't be located. I stopped using that USB drive a while back and reformatted it for something else. So I googled how to fix this and didn't come up with anything.

So I went to PS customer support and saw the chat option. Connected me with a "PlayStation Expert" named Giselle. I told her the problem. She had me browse to my Game Library. Told her it wasn't there. She had me browse to my Game Library on the Playstation website. I told her it wasn't there either.

She then proceeded to tell me I haven't bought the game. I told yes I had. I found the receipt in my email and I told her this. She had me go find the game on the website. There it said the game was "unavailable for purchase". Her reply....

I left the chat. Did some more research and found the answer. I went back to the chat....

Reminds me of those questionnaires you could get by working at EB Games/GameStop where they asked you questions about particular games. You gained points that could be used on miscellaneous games and swag.

How do you sign up for their wait list? I’d do this 🤷‍♂️. GameStop use to have reps from Nintendo and Sony come in to check their displays and hype up their products. I don’t know if they do that anymore.

You should send that to Sony and ask them to send you her commission for that exchange as store credit.

I spoke to one of them not long ago, when a game I bought didn’t grant me the 50 coins it should have for PlayStation stars rewards. Not a big deal so I gave up quickly, but they tried to tell me that I bought the game before the rewards program was live, which isn’t even remotely true since the game released like a month after and I even have other rewards and campaigns complete prior to the release of the game if you look at my history, they kept trying to tell me it can’t be retroactively applied to a stars account that didn’t exist because the program wasn’t live yet. Yeah, expert bullshitters. Ultimately, they suggested I buy another game, (all which are full priced at $103 with tax here in Canada) so I could get the 50 reward coins and complete the campaign, lol ok.

That's what bugged me the most about my interaction. She said she didn't have access to accounts and such. So why was she making stupid ass assumptions about me not buying the game? Or telling you when you bought the game? They just made that shit up.

So, uh, is this basically PlayStation Ambassadors but through a 3P company?

EDIT:
OK turns out not necessarily. Seems like basic customer service but at least there is some type of compensation. I don't wanna see PlayStation go down the Xbox route with the Ambassador shilling on Twitter and stuff like that :/

Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping are you ready to serve your nation?
I think they want some one with a bit more experience than pressing the laugh emote button.

That being said I'm sure they will find his enthusiasm commendable.👍

& The other gentleman said he is too busy on the front lines, what a hero, fighting the good fight :')

Keep sending in stupid queries and getting yourself to answer it. Genius move. After 700 problems resolved you get 50 playstation coins and a virtual diorama.

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
And just like that, there were no longer unemployed people on Gaf.

"Hello, I've heard that Microsoft are going to buy Activision, does that mean Call of Duty will be exclusive to Xbox?"
"Listen here you little shit, Microsoft is much worse than Sony because..."

That was actually one of my questions too, i.e., how to download a game again that I had downloaded previously and copied in an external storage drive.

Can you please share what you mean by "removing the reference of the game in the PS5 storage settings?"

Sure. In Settings, go to Storage, and then Games and Apps

Here you will see a list of games installed. Find the game you want to delete and put a check next to it and then select Delete.

This shit has happened to me more than once. It's gonna take me 2 years to get enough points to buy Cult of the lamb anyway, so why are they making it harder?

I bought gow r 3 days after it came out. Sonys response is that I bought it too early? Guess I'm the asshole for supporting the brand
