Yeah Bloodbrone is still Miyazaki's magnum opus

For me it’s DS1

It’s infinitely replayable, but more so than that, I’ve never seen a world so interconnected. Ever. In any game.

The level design was done so to painstakingly detail for that reason.

I can start a new game and it’s amazing all over again every time.

It's funny how this fetishizing of lead designers almost never happens to Western Game Developers. It's almost as if the absurd focus on "directors" is a marketing ploy.
Neil Druckmann, Cory Barlog, John Romero/Carmack, Sid Meier, Todd Howard, Cliff Bleszinski...

I dunno, I'd say that it happens quite a bit but probably not to the extent of Japanese designers.

As for the thread, I can agree with OP, chiefly due to Bloodborne's atmosphere and overall design. I've stomached enough knights and dragons for the rest of my life but it seems Miyazaki and the gaming landscape never get tired of them.

The game is amazing, yeah.

But why the hell did they decide to make healing items not refill on death?

Farming echoes isn't difficult. It's tedious and boring. Thankfully you can just go to the cum chalice these days.

Something about bloodbornes lore that gets me, esp. Old hunters dlc with the village massacre and maria looking like she executed herself from guilt in the tower. I havent seen fromsoft pull off lore like that since then.

As some who can not stop thinking about elden ring, i agree.

Bloodborne really has an atmosphere like no other.

Though i do prefer elden rings more human.like boss designs to bloodbornes lovecraftians monsters..

I loved Bloodborne but my favourite FROM game always will be Sekiro. Not only really, REALLY liked combat but this is first FROM game I actually care about characters and what happening to actual plot.

Yeah Sekiro for me also... maybe when bloodborne gets an remake/remaster

Miyazaki does Lovecraftian horror......yea,nothing is ever gonna top that for me regardless of how good his future games may be.

It's either Bloodborne or Elden Ring. His other games are great, but none come close to those two works of art.

Personally I'd go with Bloodborne. It's the Citizen Kane or Sistine Chapel of video games.

This guy reads my mind. Literally.

Dark Souls 1 is an unmatched masterpiece for me.

Anyway Dark Souls 1, Bloodborne and Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice are all three top games of FromSoft (and also in the gaming world in general).

Elden Ring is cool but not on that level. I want another new IP from them which hit as strong as these 3.

I think Elden Ring is much better and Bloodborne is my 2nd favorite game ever. The way elden ring brings all of its elements together is unmatched.

Nah, the director plays a huge role in the vision and direction of a game. Todd Howard, Druckman, Ken Levine etc… director praise exist in the west too.

I would be first in line for a 60fps locked ramake done by Bluepoint.
There is no need for that, they just need patch it like they did with Sekiro, that game currently run flawlessly on PS5.

I dont need Bulepoint messing with Bloodborne's already perfect visuals and art direction.

I'd litterally buy a PS5 just for a 60fps remaster of Bloodborne.
Though i'd be fine with a PC port too. (please ?)

Including the DLC, yeah. It's better than Elden Ring IMO.
Without the DLC, its about even.

I agree that Blodborne still has the best looking enemy/boss designs of all Souls games.

But DS3 is still my favorite because it has much more varied locations.

bloodborne man
it just hits different
The boss design, the level design, the complex but fascinating lore and everything about the game is just so good.
I just love bloodborne man

nothing to say about that man, you're right, Bloodborne does hit different

i played all of them and even if cosmic horror is my thing, none of them came close to the first walkthrough of dark souls.
it was magical.

Then the PS5 version will need to come with a free sick bag then. Because to me and many others its unplayable. I get a headache almost immediately. Its 2023. Locked 60 fps or dont even show it to me.

EDIT:Sorry, re-read your post, you mean path the 60fps mode but leave the art the same. Ok Im ok with that.

I love Bloodborne but I could not agree more, my favorite FROM hands down.

Once you learn how to play, the game with every encounter constantly tells you..

You can’t level farm to overpower enemies, no summons, no op weapon to save you. The only way through the game is skill and knowledge of the game mechanics.

I need more of that in my life. I’ll take Sekiro 2 over any future From sequel.

Incredible game, to be sure.

I still think of it as the only game to pick up the legacy of Castlevania's tone, and improve upon it. The "official" 3D Castlevania games are trash.
