Streamer was bullied for playing Hogwarts to the point where his girlfriend was crying

I listened to the video. Yeah it seems like the comments got to her and there is absolutely nothing wrong with her crying.

You don't know what was said and even if you do you aren't her. Telling her to get thicker skin isn't gonna help. People decided to go on their stream with the purpose of throwing hate their way until they got a reaction.

Kinda callous to make fun of her crying

Not even a little. This isn't her first hour on the internet or even in the lime light.

She's choosing to put herself out there to make money and she knows EVERYTHING that comes with it.
They're mealy mouthed on purpose and crying to appease both sides is a tactic to keep revenue streams intact.

Common tactic from blue haired crowd.

Scream and rant and tear people down for "victim blaming." Then proceed to blame every victim who thinks 1% different from them.

Girlfriend reviews basically is the blue-haired crowd.

"WE ARE SO SORRY WE'RE MAKING MONEY FROM STREAMING HOGWARTS.
WE ARE DONATING A PENNY TO THE TREVOR PROJECT. DONT HATE US!"

They are spineless and the crying is a stupid ploy.

Yep. But part of being a streamer is engaging with your audience.

However if you cater to crazies this is what you get imo. Cultivate a better audience.

Also

Who the hell is "T", i thought you need full real name to get checkbox in twitter? Is that gone. Who is that clown?
Guess he was calling for censorship , judging by the response...

Or i just read that wrong, it was from 2012 and weirdos who bully and harass were responding to it.. Nevermind

Anyway this whole thing is crazy. Websites to target people, wtf...

And protestors get arrested when they overstep their bounds by impeding traffic, entry into businesses, or targeted harassments.
They’re doing none of this. For instance, i there were picketers outside of an aborion clinic, all of those picketers know where that location is, it’s publicly available information. Just like a username. The only thing the tracker does is point you to usernames. Not personal information like houses.

And they are not allowed to impede business duties. Going back to my original comment, if streamers can prove these targeted harassments campaigns are impacting their livelihoods, they can have a case.

Regardless, the site is shut down, which tells me they received a cease and desist, so I digress.

They’re not. Honestly the dude could have kept streaming and not paid attention to the idiots. Just like the aforementioned abortion clinic could continue to operate even though the picketers could have technically said whatever they wanted as well. Neither impede business for the rationally silent group simply watching the stream or simply wanting a top shelf abortion.

These psychologically unstable turds wanted a reaction and they got what they wanted. Picketers could only dream of getting a similar reaction and would rejoice if the abortion clinic closed up shop because of their whining.

I listened to the video too but nobody seems to know what was said. That seems quite important. I can't see any strong replies to their tweets nothing more than people saying that they feel disappointed that the stream is going ahead. Everyone seems quite civil to me.

Given how this "bullying" is being reported by a number of places, I'm surprised that we don't have any quotes. If you were writing one of these articles, you'd presumably like to include detail. So, it's making me wonder if the pushback was so incredibly mild that it would undermine their claims that they were being bullied.

You can see the replies to their tweets here:

Including this one:

Edit: oh go on, here's more:

If that's the kind of thing they were getting on Twitter then I can't really understand why there were tears. There are hundreds of replies to their tweets, I haven't read them all but I haven't seen anything abusive.

Pathetic and spineless (applies to both crybabies).

You can stream their stream here:

1.04.40

Is it just before they tearfully suggest taking a break.

In the ten minutes beforehand I can't see them getting attacked or bullied in the chat.

The streamers seem frustrated and talk about being allies.

Thanks for this absolute useless quote. What do you want me to do big man, get violent over a video game twitter hates?
What? I'm just calling out more slacktivism.

It’s a shit show all around. Yes these Woke people are the worst but also streamers are the worst. They cry because they are looking for sympathy money. Which is below scummy as this taints the times when people really need it in actual bad situations. Super chats should be illegal.

So you decide to don't do anything and just shitpost, fine.
What should I have done instead, please enlighten me.

That's it, fuck it, fuck them, now I will buy the game just to piss them off.
Why not donate to a politician who's seeking to erode trans rights instead, that'd really get their blood boiling.

In case it's not clear, I am joking, but it's a serious situation for some people.

And what's more, we've got no evidence of anyone abusing these streamers at all.

Yeah, GR doesn't have all of my sympathy here because they were super quick to nestle into the bosom of Bob's bitch tits when the Alllttttt Riggghhhtttt Gammmerrrrgattteerrrssss were sending their death squads to say mean things about TLOU2, but fast forward a couple of years and now the faefolk are doing it, too.

Seems like it might not be a partisan issue, shitbag trolls online?

If you can't empathize with a woman getting random people in you're space telling everyone they're bad, and would unsubscribe, basically saying they should be canceled, then it's a you-problem.

Their literally not doing anything bad streaming hwl, doing something for charity, and getting hate for it.

Not saying you should defend them, just find it puzzling that you choose to make a point of a woman being overwhelmed by bad people.

I think it's a shame she appears to have got upset. I don't want her to get upset. Nobody wants to hear a woman's voice waver.

As for them being told they're bad people who should be cancelled, I've seen no evidence of it. Neither on twitter, or on their stream, which I quoted earlier. On twitter there seems to have been very polite and mild comments from people saying they're disappointed, which the streamers responded to by adding a charity collection to the stream.

There are plenty of articles saying that the streamers were bullied during their broadcast, but as far as I know, none of them have included quotes of what was said. So all I've got to go on is the twitter comments and a few people saying Trans Lives Matters or linking to charities on their stream. I've only watched about 10 minutes of it, the section that leads up to the proposal of taking a break.

It's entirely possible that people were more rude on the stream, but there's no evidence that I'm aware of.

Their literally not doing anything bad streaming hwl, doing something for charity, and getting hate for it.

I can see where you're coming from but I think that they chose to disregard the feelings and opinions of parts of their audience and support a product which is being held up (vociferously around here) as proof that the world doesn't care at all about trans people and would prefer that they don't exist. Some people on here are claiming to buy HWL so they can show trans people how little they think of them. Through that lens, I think it'd be quite easy to argue that they were doing something bad by streaming and promoting HWL. In theory, streaming a game is of little consequence but what this game has come to stand for is another thing.

Unfortunately, I think the charity collection they, I assume hastily, added to the event was proof that they knew they were turning their backs on parts of their audience and were aware of the baggage the game carries and how people who choose to stream it could be perceived. That compounds the bad feeling, imo. During the stream the guy talks about being an ally. Really, at that point he was fully aware of what he was doing and how it was being perceived.

I can imagine that the upset felt by trans people who had supported their channel, perhaps with views, promotion or general positivity, perhaps even financial support, would be greater than that felt by the streamers who may or may not have had people say that they're bad people, are disappointing and that people will unsubscribe. People form bonds with the streamers they follow and interact with, if your favourite streamer started knowingly backing a product that was linked to someone who thought you shouldn't exist because of something you might wish you could change about yourself but can't, you probably would feel some upset too. In that sense, I think it's possible that they caused more pain than they felt.

In short, they were told in advance by their audience what the game symbolised and how disappointing the decision was. So while I don't think it's a good thing at all that they got upset, I don't really think we should be considering their feelings primarily at this time. They chose to disregard other people's feelings and did something that they knew was causing upset. If they didn't know initially, then they knew at some point during the stream and continued. In this instance, I think they're arguably more the bully than the victim they appear to want people to think they are, and I would think that some would say you've found the wrong target for your compassion.

So bullies when they're younger in schools etc, use excuses like living in a bad household, mental health issues, stuff like that. Then they go and hurt innocent people because of it?

Like, I actually got bullied in an evironment where I couldn't just ignore people, got the shit kicked out of me, had life long injuries. I wasnt in the safety of my own home playing a video game with a chat I just didn't need to read knowing these days people are just assholes so ignore it.

Now the blue haired folk (who let's face it likely have mental capabilities of a child still) have perceived discrimination against them etc, decide to bully others because of their problems. That is of course if any of these weirdos have actually had any hardship in their life (due to being trans) since like 97% of them used to be dudes or still look like a guy.

Hmmm, I guess assholes will always be assholes but their excuses will always change.

I've got a feeling maybe there's more reason to their behaviour.

She's a young lady in front of a million people that normally love her. I can see these replies causing her distress. Her imagination is probably running wild as we speak. Seems perfectly natural for her to break down. It's a lot of rejection coming all at once.

Which replies? The ones I quoted from before they streamed the game?

"I love you, but hate that you're [going to be] doing this"

Those replies?

Replies like that?

Yeah, totally. They seem benign but her breakdown shows what is going through her head. She had to make a call to cover the game and thought she could take the disaproval, but now it seems like a big mistake, she's got to make a bunch of replies trying to compromise and explain herself on twitter yada yada yada she's losing sleep over it and boom.
