Older review (before Hall Effect sticks):
I'm ordering one on thursday.
DualSense Edge is more expensive and missing a lot of the features HYPR has.I don't like the design and they're like 150€ too expensive.
DualSense Edge is 180€ too expensive.DualSense Edge is more expensive and missing a lot of the features HYPR has.
And it's missing hall effect, mechanical triggers and bumpers and doesn't have 4 back buttons.DualSense Edge is 180€ too expensive.
Standard DualSense battery - so better than Edge.Does it have a half-way acceptable battery life?
So no, then.Standard DualSense battery - so better than Edge.
Really? I dig it, it's not like us pro gamers need to looks at the buttons. Just paint the symbols on with your little brother's nail polishNot having the symbols on the buttons is a deal breaker for me. I would have this over that garbage DaulSense Edge though.
You can customize it the way you want it.Does it have the dual sense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers? I recall most PS5 clones don’t.
Gamer Heaven rates them high quality and best value - and he has tested over 200 controllers.I very much doubt the build quality on these aftermarket mass produced modified controllers.
I don't like plain buttons. I'm not bodging symbols on to an expensive controller.Really? I dig it, it's not like us pro gamers need to looks at the buttons. Just paint the symbols on with your little brother's nail polish
I think you can get vinyl stickers to replicate the buttons but yeah it's kind of a tacky solution for a premium product.I don't like plane buttons. I'm not bodging symbols on to an expensive controller.
Dualsense Edge is better overallDualSense Edge is more expensive and missing a lot of the features HYPR has.
The DualSense Edge has haptic triggers AND Hall Effect triggers. And it's missing hall effect, mechanical triggers and bumpers and doesn't have 4 back buttons.
This is the design I'm going for:
The DualSense Edge has haptic triggers AND Hall Effect triggers.
I looked at them just not sure it’s sure moving from the Edge now that I am used to just 2 back paddlesPaging HeisenbergFX4
How so?Dualsense Edge is better overall
Yes it does have Hall Effect for the triggers. No it doesn't. It has replaceable standard sticks, not hall effect sticks. Assuming you meant the sticks, seeing as I've not heard of hall effect triggers. The trigger stops on the Edge kind of suck as well, if those are what you were talking about. They're not a click, and they still have too much travel. The d-pad also isn't improved in the slightest over the standard pad, which is worse than the PS4 controller, IMO.
The instant mid-game profile changing and the built in volume and party balance features are pretty great on the Edge, though. There are definitely pros and cons to any of the PS5 pro controller options.
Well then they put the tech in the wrong place. I've never heard of trigger drift, but I've heard about a lot of people having issues with stick drift.Yes it does have Hall Effect for the triggers.
Many reports of the DualSense triggers being poorly designed and breaking.Well then they put the tech in the wrong place. I've never heard of trigger drift, but I've heard about a lot of people having issues with stick drift.
Not sure why hall effects would make them more durable. Breaking yes, but not drifting. At least I don't think so, but I could be mistaken. Many reports of the DualSense triggers being poorly designed and breaking.

The original dualsense has imaginary huge stick shift issues. I never seen anyone with the issue yet in real life though lol. There’s no widespread issue there and it’s stupid to buy a super expensive controller because of a non existing problem. If you even get this issue buy a new cheap standard controller, it’s much cheaper and they last forever with normal handling/play.what’s wrong with original dualsense?
Hall joysticks must have some other issue right?
Not for competitive play. Having 0% deadzone (Hall Effect sticks), mechanical triggers/bumpers and 4 back buttons is a huge advantage.Dualsense Edge is better overall
Sure, the sticks will get loose at some point, but my 24 year old Dreamcast controller still works fine and has zero drift issues.what’s wrong with original dualsense?
Hall joysticks must have some other issue right?
I'm a competitive player and I usually go from 5% deadzone to 10% deadzone within a year of using a (potentiometer) controller for 1500 hours. With Hall Effect sticks I can be on 0% deadzone for many many years. The original dualsense has imaginary huge stick shift issues. I never seen anyone with the issue yet in real life though lol.
Almost every game worth a damn has deadzone settings too, so unless you got one of the tiny fraction of expected defective controllers (iirc something like 3% is considered acceptable in electronics manufacturing) you aren't going to have drift issues for a long time. The original dualsense has imaginary huge stick shift issues. The joy cons, now those are terrible, but standard Sony and MS controllers are perfectly fine. The MS one is super noisy though .
Triggers that support Force Feedback and Hall Effect is a huge convenienceNot for competitive play. Having 0% deadzone (Hall Effect sticks), mechanical triggers/bumpers and 4 back buttons is a huge advantage.

Mechanical triggers are only good for responsive input (1mm travel). If you want to play driving games, force feedback and analog triggers are a must.Triggers that support Force Feedback and Hall Effect is a huge convenience
As is being able to remove the thumb sticks and eventually buy Hall Effect sticks.
You can buy hall effect replacement sticks for PS4/PS5 and Xbox controllers on Aliexpress. This controller is nice, but I just wish someone would release hall sensors mods for the standard controller. Controllers seem to fragile for me to spend over $100 for it.
Riiiigggghhhhht. You can buy hall effect replacement sticks for PS4/PS5 and Xbox controllers on Aliexpress.
Riiiigggghhhhht.
You expect people to desolder and resolder in these new sticks and pray that they work?
Mate be serious.

GuliKit said they'd make some, but that was in january and they've made a new King Kong controller since - and seems like they don't give a fuck about PlayStation when I asked last week if it would support PS5. Either that or Sony patented those modules so they're the only ones who can produce them.now where the fuck are the 3rd party sticks for edge?
