Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Releases on February 14, 2024 (Switch, PS4/5, XBX/S, PC)

Modernised control scheme?

Yeah, this is what I want to know, playing the originals are rough
What do you mean by "modernised control scheme"? The game is basically played as a grid system. Everything is done by "squares". Press once to run and she stops right at the tip of a square. Jump and run and she will jump right at the tip of that ledge (square), etc...

If they make her auto-grab stuff and make this play like an Uncharted game with these visuals it's going to ruin the entire experience IMO.

I'm sure this will be the least popular comment in here though so bring on the hate, lmao.

After following the AI Lara project on YouTube, I can´t see myself going back to these games. The comments are sometimes so funny and spot on, I would miss them.

This is why i never liked the Anniversary remake. The main reason why the original game was great was all about that level design that doesn't adapt well to what that remake was going for.
Replaying the original levels will be amazing and this time with trophy support.
They also removed the music in parts of the game which kinda killed the atmosphere

Nice.
Actually I had hard time figuring out geography in the original games due to its low resolution textures and jaggies on PSX/Saturn.
This will probably solve a lot of distancing issues and all. May give it a go when it's on sale.

Just the other my friend and I was talking about how great a remaster (with trophy support) would be and when all the corporations collect data and listen to you talking via phone that it would be cool if they have overheard our conversation and made a remastered. And now we have this. With on the fly graphics swap. Great stuff!

Now we need Revelations, Chronicles and Angel of Darkness as well :)

So is this based on the original Core Design engine, just with 60fps, enhanced assets and widescreen?

I cut my teeth on these games so this is a nostalgia nuke for me. Wish they included Revelations and Chronicles, but whatevs. Can't wait to see more of what the enhancements are.

Yes, and this gameplay was already modernized(in the same generation):

If just one well known developer had stuck with this design and tried to evolve it instead of completely dropping it, we would have witnessed the evolution of grid platforming already. It would take a developer to do it against all odds though, much like King's Field to Demon's Souls to Dark Souls.

Edit: They just have to make it feel slightly better to control, not automate grapples or anything crazy.

Fucking finally and they look like good remasters. Day 1 for me. Hopefully there's going to be another volume with updated Legend, Anniversary & Underworld (and maybe The Last Revelation?).

The Last Revelation/Chronicles/The Angel of Darkness.
If they can fix the controls/camera and bugs in AoD it might actually be worth playing

Seen screenshots up on PushSquare for this and it looks pretty decent. Recently been playing a community patched Angel of Darkness so wouldn't mind more classic Lara

The Last Revelation/Chronicles/The Angel of Darkness.

I've recent been playing Angel of Darkness on PC using a definitive edition mod, might be worth a look

It's cool but we already had a remake of first one called Anniversary, should be included in this package

This ain't Mortal Kombat bro. Where you cut people in half but big tits are offensive because female fighters don't fight with double d titties.🤣😂🤦‍♂️
But they could never fight with those things!

*Throws a razor hat at the guy who just shot a fireball at me*

It's just unrealistic! Also why with the outfits!

*Refuses to point out said fireball guy was shirtless instead of having armor on*

But no this is actually really awesome I was just looking at these at a local classic game shop so glad they announced this!
