Gigabyte MO27Q28G 4th Gen WOLED Release Date and Pricing Confirmed

Finally! I've been waiting for the new Tandem technology.

The eagerly awaited Gigabyte MO27Q28G now has a confirmed global release date and pricing, courtesy of an update we've received today from Gigabyte. The screen will be released worldwide on 30 September 2025 at a global retail price of $499 USD (before tariffs). That makes it extremely competitively priced for a brand new, 4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem WOLED panel.

You are a fucking legend for posting this as I had no clue about this.

I actually just bought the Alienware AW2725Q 4K OLED and while I love it, I think this actually fits my needs much better. 4K is too heavy on my 4070S, plus it has better brightness specs, speakers, and still retains all the features the Alienware had because of HDMI 2.1 for my consoles. Plus $499 is even cheaper then the $550 I got the Alienware for.

Looks like I'll be returning two monitors in one month... lol (I bought the ASUS 32 4K240 and returned it for the Alienware prior).

Heck yeah. I knew this was coming for a while and have been waiting!

That's interesting, and thank god it's matte, many of the OLED I've been looking at lately were glossy. I know people love glossy on OLED, and while on a TV it can be manageable, on a monitor I really want to avoid glossy and prefer matte, don't want to be in the dark all the time.

Will wait for reviews.

What is a Tandem OLED??? They just inventing new words out here huh

It's a new generation panel that duplicates one of the light emitting layers (i.e. tandem) which primarily acts to increase brightness and reduces the risk of burn in because the panel can be driven at lower power/voltage levels to achieve the same or better brightness. I think they also changed the colors of some of the emission layers as well which improves color performance somewhat.

Any cool non-OLED monitors coming up? I tend to work on my monitor as well, so OLED is not an option.
Could you use cheap LED monitor for text and an OLED for content in a dual monitor setup? Actually, I might do that...

But if that's not an option, they are still making really nice IPS monitors for a good price.

Is text clarity still a problem? It's crazy that OLED, while being praised all the time, has such glaring issues.
Last time I checked (2022), it was still a problem (imho). And burn-in is also still a problem, even if the OLED-fanboys like to downplay this with all the "maintenance features" they got.

I am thinking about this as well. But I am a bit worried about contrast and color differences when I look from one monitor to the other. Not sure how annoying that would be.

Asus ProArt line is the way to go Asus ProArt PA32QCV 6K!
I will check that out! Thanks, man!

On the inverse you also have the people who are always trying to downplay OLED because there is a small possibility of burn in.

This isn't 1st gen OLED you almost have to be negligent to get burn in nowadays. I've never don't anything besides hide my task bar in Windows in over a year of having an OLED monitor primarily in games with HUDs like BF, and over 3 years of using my LG C2 every single day.

nah not at all
Any reviews? I havent seen any type of oled free of vrr flicker.

I get that some of ya'll are ignorant, but it's a massive flaw, especially when you have a mid-range PC that cannot sustain all those garbage UE5 games that have constant frame fluctuations, and locking framerate doesnt do shit.

Yeah, I hate it on my LG OLED TV. I was baffled when I first played on it because this issue isn't mentioned enough.

This is something that worries me about OLED, most people who talk positively about them seem to ignore the different flaws completely, and it makes it hard to trust feedbacks.
Not that long ago here on gaf I talked about fringing / chromatic aberration on QD OLED, and everyone told me I was crazy, that it wasn't a thing at all, while it's clearly a thing mentionned all the time when reading about QD OLED.
It's kind of weird, like talking to people from different dimensions, one where OLED is perfect, one where it's full of flaws.

That's a nice price. So that means it'll actually be a calm $650 in Murica most likely. But damn, all these brands just hate to put DisplayPort 2.1 on the monitors, lol.

Hey so did anyone here ended up getting this monitor?
I'm curious to see if some people have any feedback about it. Still kind of seems like the best option right now if you don't want a glossy monitor. I'm still worried about text clarity though.

I've been looking out for this monitor for months but never been able to find it. I bought the LG one (GX700 something something) but I like having speakers (I like keeping my desk minimal so refuse to use external speakers and don't like using headphones all the time) and like having USB C for my MacBook so I returned it so I know the panel is good.

At this point I'm not convinced that the monitor is ever getting released in the states.

Isn't there an Asus with similar specs?

The availability is indeed a bit strange. Here in France we can find it on some websites, but not really on Amazon, it's been there briefly I think but I don't see it anymore. I usually prefer using Amazon for something like that, so I could return it easily if I don't like it.
Also that LG you're talking about is using the same panel as the gigabyte?

As far as I'm aware they are the same panel. I was under the impression that all the current Tandem OLED monitors available (Gigabyte, Asus, LG) all had the same panel but I could be wrong.

It was a beautiful panel for sure but I'm glad I returned it. I've still been looking out for the Gigabyte but I'm at the point where idk if I would actually buy it. Going back to my cheap KTC 1440p/240hz OLED I didn't actually notice too awfully much of a difference (if anything I immediately went man it's nice to have USB C and the KTC had weirdly good speakers for a monitor).
