Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements detailed (Patch releases April 8)

I bet that every day when Wichard wakes up and sees the latest John Linneman crashout, he's regretting not going with NXGamer instead.
I think Richard will never hire NXGamer because of divergence on politics. And I am also expecting John to quit DF at some point to make his own retro stuff.

Nice way to admit you never played it.
I have slight issue with game here and there but this game only WRPG I ever liked.

The setting is fantastic, great characters especially in Phantom Liberty the story and characters so well done.

To me CP 2077 is MUCH better game than GTA games especially the mission design is sooooooo much better than any GTA games.

Sorry.. i forget they convert when you use the app. Yes, make sure its PNG in settings.
I should have used the usb method.
Shit man, do they convert? I've never used the app for uploading screenshots, I usually just copy them to usb. That sucks if they convert to JPEG. I imagine those screenshots of yours(which are really awesome btw), if it isn't compressed.

I want to play it again on PS5 Pro, but I did 100% on it in 2022/3, but I will do a playthrough at some point again.

I would LOVE TO copy png's to USB drive but BRILLIANT PS5 Pro design with two USB C ports on the front don't let me do it...

I won't unplug the console to fucking plug in USB drive in the back, who designed this shit? First PS5 model was perfect with 1x USB A and 1x USB C ports.

SAME

Going for the platinum now, and even boring side gigs are amazing to experience.

Word. It's really not a hard Plat at all. I managed to do it for the PS4 and 5 versions. The only "tricky" ones are the few that require you to have specific implants, like the one where you ground slam onto a certain amount of dudes.

I played maybe 5 minutes of Phantom which might as well be nothing. I got to the spider mech boss and peaced out for whatever dumb reason.

Last night's sesh. For a third run I'm finding it incredibly hard to pull away from this time around. It just looks so fucking good and I've been going with this knife/revolver combo that I've never done before. Throwing knives are fun as fuck.

The ones ive shared, yeah they're from the app and have converted to jpg. The pics i transfer to usb stay png thankfully. I'll use usb in the future and see how that goes.

Man I had already done two full playthroughs but am really enjoying this third one.

I remain fascinated by the world and the characters, + the update is so transformative on the visuals that it feels like playing a next gen version of the game.

Not sure what you guys mean. I have no trouble transferring PNGs via the app. With HDR off, you can get PNGs without needing a USB. Haven't verified these instructions from Google step by step, but it mirrors what I've been using for ages:

1. Set Screenshot Format to PNG (High Quality)
  • Go to Settings > Captures and Broadcasts > Captures.
  • Select Screenshot Format and set it to PNG.
  • Note: Ensure "Include HDR" is off if you want to avoid compatibility issues/compression.
2. Enable Auto-Upload to PS App
  • Go to Settings > Captures and Broadcasts > Captures.
  • Turn on Auto-Upload.
  • Note: Only captures 3 minutes or shorter will automatically upload.
3. Accessing Images on Phone
  • Open the PlayStation App on your phone.
  • Go to Library > Captures.
  • Select the desired screenshot and press the Download button to save it to your phone's photo gallery.

I use app as well, but I'm kinda forced to do it because some dumb fuck decided to put 2x USB C ports in front of the console.

Yeah. I think the update is truly transformative. CP looks great in pure-raster mode, but RT just fits the neon vibe and art style so good. PSSR is a huge leap over FSR as well.

15 clicks is exactly what ive been using since i bought it. :)
Glad ur black crush is fixed..
Yeah over the years, the console does asked to re-calibrate and I somehow thought since launch, they have fixed the calibration and you just do as prompted but realised that is not the case at all and not quite how it works because it is TV dependent too. My midpoint in game was also at 1.2 before, I read it should be between 1.1-1.3 so I thought any other value would be wrong. Now I have it 1500 peak brightness and 1.5 midpoint and it looks crazy good!

I haven't gone back to other games yet after the adjustment, but I never felt I had issues with them, but now I'll have to re-check the HDR calibration in game now that I have it set right on console. What I thought looked good in other games probably going to look better now.

I assumed they were converting because the pics on here say Jpg. And they are conveniently from the app. But i tested the usb and they stayed in PNG.?
Haha, no idea.

1.5 midpoint is definitely the sweetspot. 🙂 glad you sorted it out and games look better now.

Did we play the same game? There are a bunch of missions where you are chased by the cops or are chasing someone. The Sinnerman mission has you chase down the police escort of the convict. Phantom Liberty has the radiant missions with El Capitan that requires you to steal cars and one of the possible obstacles is getting chased by enemies. All the Delamaine missions require you to chase down the cars. At least one Cyberpsycho needs to be hunted down by car. Sure, it's not GTA, but there is plenty of car chases in that game.

You literally listed almost all of missions with chases. Game is like 95% being in some building or compound. I finished game like 5 times, 400 hours.

Played and finished on 3 difrent consoles
Oh, so the game sucks, but you triple-dipped and went all the way to the end at that? We can all make shit up on the internet. The fact that you called it futuristic Far Cry is proof enough you're full of shit and never played it.

Because I was bored. The game is stil a decent action romp but it is just far cry

I played almost all Far Cry games and not even one of them have similar gameplay to CP2077.

CP2077 is like Deus Ex (HE and MD style) but with big open world city instead of small hub.

You not got a USB C to USB A adapter with a phone or anything?

I agree though. 2x USB C on the front sucks. Have to use an adapter for my headset seeing as my rear USB ports are taken up by my keyboard and external harddrive.

I have USB C in most of my devices but they usually connect with USB A - USB C cables (with male sockets). Almost all USB dongles created between 2000x2020 are USB A sticks, because that is the universal standard that works across tvs, old and new computers, consoles and tons of other stuff.

Original PS5 had the best setup with USA A and C for maximum compatibility. What they were thinking with Slim and Pro?

The "Tower" ending in Phantom Liberty is so god damn sad.

Also…..fuck you Judy

Best ending. Bleak and shitty. Just like a dystopian cyberpunk shit hole.

Can you really blame her? V tells her she won't be away for long. Ends up in a coma for 2 years. No one from the NUSA tells her anything. She only stayed in Night City because of V and V just drops off the face of the world. Completely justified she would find someone else. If you want a "happy" ending with her. Leave with the Aldercaldos and Judy, but V dies within 6 months regardless. There is no happy ending for any romance option.

Note. I haven't and will never romance River as female V. Cause fuck that guy. Pushy prick.

Must have amassed hundreds of screenshots, have to force myself not to take one half the times I want to. Tried to focus a little more on daylight pictures here, as we all know how amazing the game looks at night.

Lost track of the amount of times I've said to myself "What am I playing?".
Was in the heart of the Kabuki slums, looking at the skyline, and there must have been a thousand ray traced shadows on screen stretching to the horizon. And the game, I can only imagine aided by black magic, kept running at 60fps. On that dead silent, white compact thing on the shelf.

Great shots Vick, RT shadows are pulling a lot of weight.. so transformitive.
You're not wrong with the black magic remark. It runs fairly solid at 60frames at times when you think it should be skipping.
Really enjoying my 4th run through this masterpiece of a game.

Impressive on pro. I really hope they add one last dlc

I enjoyed this game despite not being in to WRPG or FPS but I hope they add 3rd person mode in the sequel and I hope you see changes in your body when you equip cyberware.

Been playing this some more and its finally clicking.

The world is so awesome. I really like the books you find scattered around giving more backround lore and history to the world. I really like what Ive seen of the story so far. Sci fi has always been much more intruiging than fantasy to me, and the questions they raise are really interresting. At first I thought all the "drive here, have long conversation, watch long scripted sequence etc" missions were really boring, but that, combined with seeing this world from the perspective of a random person, and the 1 person perspective, really gives the feeling of living in this cyberpunk world.

I´ve finally gotten some better gear so combat is more fun. I have a good smart assult rifle and the feel of it is really awesome.

I wish they´d let you respec your attribute points as many times as you wanted (or have it cost like 5000 eddies or something at a ripper doc). The leveling can be a bit confusing, you might get tired of your playstyle after a while in such a massive game, and many people might just play it one time.

Levelling up is a bit of a low point with both Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 imho. I've never felt satisfied with any of my builds in either game.

I never cared about "builds" in TW3 (just maximized damage using mutagens) but with CP I was just hacking everything and using stealth

Yeah, Im a bit ambivalent about the leveling system in a game like this. Sure, its part RPG, but much of the gameplay is first person stealth or action. What makes those games fun is using different weapons and strategies, so its kinda weird when I need to put like 15 points in one attribute to be good with assult rifles, and in another attribute to be good with sniper rifles etc. Will it be fun to be able to kill everything with like shotguns and clubs later, but be crappy with snipers? If I try to balance things will I just be weak at everything instead?

To be fair, you do get plenty of level up points throughout the game, especially if you complete a lot of side stuff, so if you're going all-out assault you should be able to improve most weapon abilities/perks, and you can pick up higher levelled guns anyway. I think enhancing your cyberware is key.

What I struggle with is which perks to pick in my main categories (cool and tech). In hindsight, some of the vehicle perks for example seem a bit pointless.

You can refund perk points as much as you like I think.

I see all the screenshots posted here and I feel like my game doesn't look THAT good. I'm playing on PS5Pro in 30fps RTPro mode and still yours and others screenshots are much more impressive. My TV is old crap though. Could that be an issue (no proper HDR)?

HDR makes a huge difference. Is your TV 4K at least?

an OLED with HDR is the true standard for this game....all other TV's are ass

I removed all of my hacking abilities in exchange for this brain chip that makes everything slow down around me, but I stay the same speed. Each kill I get during this time increases the slowdown duration. It's pretty insane and I never knew it existed. I'm basically unstoppable at this point. Point blank power shotgun blasts to the dome. There's a lot of headless bodies in Neon City right now.
