Has anybody been following this story of where Bricks stole 200K from a old 83 father and his son Bryan. You tuber gets involved "wreckless ben" and sheds the light on the situation and brings out the messed up situation of the store owner, bricks HQ, and the police style corruption.

Check it out its wild as hell:
Part 1

Part 2

This happened somewhat near where I live, it's kind of an ongoing local folktale now. Also, the circumstances surrounding this are extremely fucked up.

I binged the whole (current) saga yesterday and then watched a couple of Law-tuber videos. Better entertainment than anything coming out of Hollywood. Just sucks we probably won't have a full resolution for a long time.

That police department...

Been following this since the first vid originally dropped, back when it only had a few thousand views. It's been going CRAZY ever since!

Funny thing is that I emailed B&M corporate back when the vid had like 100k views, and I told them that this is going to end up being a huge PR disaster and is going to hurt their franchise owners. No response.

So I don't feel bad in the slightest. They're doing this to themselves. In fact, the other night, I decided to do a little trolling and email their franchise department lol. It's a long but funny email:

Subject: With regards to opening franchised store near Baltimore, MD in 2027

To B&M franchising,

Addressing you is Tom Folt, additionally representing Sarah Rogers and Marty Liccinum.

As you may internally be aware, we have been exploring the potential of opening a B&M store in Glen Burnie or Ellicott City, Maryland for the past two months. We've scouted multiple storefront locations, and have been in contact with your franchise staff multiple times. We've received the franchisee deck and initial paperwork from your team, and have been steadily moving forward in the process of opening and operating a franchised business, pending internal discussions.

However, we've recently been made aware of an active public situation that has apparently been making its way around the internet and social media. While we don't fully understand the specifics, it's come to our attention that there are active allegations that have put aspects of the brand at risk. Specifically, it appears that the CEO is currently being characterized as someone who is or has been unjust towards a family who sold or consigned inventory to a franchised store in Utah.

We'd like clarification on the validity of these claims, as, frankly, we think they are absolutely wonderful. As the old adage goes, "there's no such thing as bad press", and seeing that B&M is making consistent news cycles in local and online reporting is something that we recognize builds brand recognition across the board. Furthermore, we agree with the overall sentiments and actions that have taken place. We, too, categorically despise old people: the way they drive under the speed limit, the way they always smell like vinyl furniture and soup, and how they perpetually keep Country Kitchen Buffet in business. Their existence alone is abhorrent, and we recognize and salute the passion in your strategic focus on senior oppression.

This critical tenet is something we deeply share with your corporation, and the idea of becoming a part of B&M energizes us. We're so excited not only to steal from vulnerable, elderly individuals, but to then utilize our abundant resources and the legal system to prevent them from fighting back. Truly, we not only believe in your mission, but we're astounded by your tenacity and cunning, and feel we could use those examples to amplify our own successes.

We are especially impressed with your CEO, Ammon McNeff. We have simply never seen another individual with such an undeniable lust for revenue and market traction, while still maintaining an ego that is as colossal as it is brittle. The way he's able to confidently alter truths while maintaining his stoic, completely alienating facade is truly impressive, and undoubtedly formidable in the corporate space. While one of our guiding principles and defined core values is to "create sustainable growth while still being as cunty as possible", we never dreamed there would be a single individual with such a potent combination of corporate success and universal unlikability. Frankly, Elon Musk could learn a thing or two.

While I'm sure we've already excessively illustrated our admiration, we simply do not want to understate how aligned we are with your mission, practices, and public image. In fact, much like Ammon, I, myself, have a distinguished mustache that perfectly strikes the balance between cartoonish supervillain and pedophile.

In closing, please provide to us the next steps in establishing our very own Bricks & Minifigs store. We are incredibly eager to not only scam and steal from the elderly, but to utilize our unique brand of revulsion to further the mission of the company. We truly believe we're the perfect fit for B&M.

Cordially,

Tom Folt, Sarah Rogers, and Marty Liccinum

Best reality tv I've seen yet.

Seriously though, never thought a Lego theft would turn into self-destructing corporate policy then twist into police corruption...

Insane.

they been robbing motherfuckers for years with the damn prices of the shit lmao

you can easily spend $100+ on a basic ass set

I just got off the phone with the American Fork police department to file some GRAMA record requests, but it sounds like those won't be released until some pending cases go through the system.

On a side note, before I hung up, the person I was talking to said "thank you… for, uh, being a gentleman." And I was like "thank you for the information, have a good day".

Sounds like they've been getting a bunch of shitty calls over the last few days. Which, like, I get. But I'm not gonna be rude and harass a receptionist who almost certainly did nothing wrong lol.

I still think having your savings in legos is not the wisest choice.

I hope they get their money back.
Back when I was super sick about 10 years ago (like, my doctor gave me a 20% chance of making it), I ended up blowing about $30k on Legos, cause ya know, I thought that was it for me. All of the sets that I never opened have shot up in value, some even tripled or quadrupled. I sold maybe 10-15 random sets last Christmas and made almost 4 grand. I even have a single minifig that's worth $10,000 by itself. As in, two have sold in the last 2 months for $10k each. I got mine by trading someone a used Xbox One lol.

It's not the worst way to invest if you know what you're doing.

One thing I discovered yesterday that I haven't seen anyone talking about is that Ammon McNeff (the CEO) has either a brother or a father named Dan McNeff who runs a business literally called "Legally Mine".

As of today, they removed his photo from the company's about page. Here's what it was yesterday, and here it is today:

You can't make this shit up.

Also, I wonder who I should tell this to.

Quick google search leads to them being sued for Unauthorized Practice of Law

It's all a civil issue. It's not like the police can say, hey yo give them their money. It has to go through the court system. They have to take calls reference harassment and trespassing seriously though. Not much they can do.

And yet they did a lot of inappropriate things. I'm also not calling for them to litigate the contractual dispute.

Well well well. Looks like the current Bricks and Minifigs CEO indeed is the one who founded Legally Mine. His dad is currently the CEO.

I started watching the first video....but honestly I'm confused already. Why did this store have this guy's collection in the first place?

Bricks and Minifigs CEO put in a request to Patreon to try and get Ben's revenue cancelled there. This corporation deserves to die.
A happy ending from Patreon's CEO himself.

Called a consignment. It's a contract agreement where a retailer holds your inventory in their store to sell to their customers. Profits get split between the retailer and the owner of the inventory. Store changed management while still under the same corporation and contract is still legally valid, but the new manager and CEO are moronic scumbags and thought stealing 200K of inventory from an individual was a good idea...

Finally some sanity in this whole ordeal.

It was sold on consignment, which is a real thing and not any trick and I've worked for businesses that have sold stock this way. Basically you give your stock to a company to hold and as each thing is sold to an end customer you will get your base price for each item. But the stock is still your property.

What's happened here is the company ignored the consignment agreement and said the stock was in out store so it's our stock and claimed ignorance over the consignment contract.

I hope I've made this clear enough for someone that's not knowledgeable about this type of transaction.

already over 320k $

also, the plan seems to be that he'll use that money to "buy" the stolen LEGO sets (or the ownership rights to them) from their original lawful owners, thereby getting them out of any legal disputes and headaches, and then deal with the whole matter himself afterward — basically turning it into a case of YouTuber vs. EvilMormonCorp: The Saga.

He'll probably need to triple that number. Good intentioned and all, he and his team made a lot of missteps.

This is one of the most obvious and egregious cases of police corruption I've seen.

If you take the oath and wear the badge, you're supposed to protect and serve. No sympathy for these cretins, wipe the entire department and charge them all. Unfortunately, apparently police corruption carries a minimum charge of a class B misdemeanor and a $1000 fine....

Pretty unbelievable the amount of corruption here. Really fucking gross. This is one that the federal government needs to step in with, there should be a show of force to prove that corruption won't be tolerated....but of course that won't happen.

The whole thing fuckin stinks.

I've been trying to get ahold of the Airbnb owner today to find out if his statement to the police that he "heard the residents talking about Legos they had stolen" is accurate, or a mischaracterization. He's a principal at an elementary school in Utah and, by all accounts, seems like a really good dude.

I suspect that he didn't make that exact statement to the police.

Keep us in the loop!

I talked to a director at Legally Mine today, and they claimed that Dan McNeff sold the company a few months back, and that Legally Mine has no affiliation with Dan McNeff, Ammon McNeff, or Bricks & Minifigs.

He also categorically stated that he thinks that whole situation is horrible, and he hopes they give Bryan his Legos back.

So while Dan/Ammon might have founded that company, it sounds like they're legitimately no longer affiliated with them. The guy I talked to was fine openly answering any questions I had, and gave me contact info if I thought of any more. I think they just don't want to be involved in this whole thing.

Looks like they were trying to take down Ben's content through Patreon. Good thing they have a cool CEO. Another L for Bricks and Minifags

So the mormon church basically has their own gestapo in Utah? What.the.fuck!

Just watched the Asmongold video and it's utterly bizarre. Trump needs to send the National Guard to that state and liberate it. Imagine if muslims would use these methods to jail infidels.

Trump gets a lot of votes and support from the Mormons, he isn't going to do anything about this.

The Danes should get involved. They can put pressure on Trump by saying that he can get more bases on Greenland if he stops Utah mormons from buying and selling Legos.

Lego is a Danish company, right? They should do something about how Bricks and Minifigs buys and sells their products. LEGO is known to be very protective of their brand.
