I do not think Xbox survives this as the entity we know it as. As another poster mentioned only keep studios open with large, recognizable IPs.

I actually don't believe Microsoft can pull off exclusivity for hardware as there isn't enough there and they know it, especially after closures. I think this is all fan service until they can start getting out of the hardware business and then they will go full on publisher mode.

Asha is very good at telling people what they want to hear, but I fear the reality is a lot more dire.

Xbox has fault? Yes. Buying just for the sake of having a bigger dick and no plan at all is stupid

The devs has their fault? Damn sure. A lot of the stuff they made are mid. So much promisses and so much lack of content. Also, woke shit

People in this discussion are reducing everything to "woke," but that's not the issue. Studios like id Software are also facing layoffs (at least), and I don't think there's anything "woke" about DOOM. But what do I know? For some people, everything is woke, lol.

In the end, Game Pass strategy was the real problem. They've shown they aren't committed to high-quality standards, they just want to fill Game Pass with whatever their studios produce. That said, I can't defend Ninja Theory or Compulsion. They had the time and the money, yet accomplished very little. The same goes for several other Xbox studios.

But I am not dedicated to one platform like many of the others. So, its not Irony. If Xbox went away, I would be gutted about the purchases Ive lost but I wouldnt really care. Same for Sony. If Nintendo and companies like ID went away id be gutted. I dont need modern Xbox or Sony games. But, gears of war does look awesome.

Sad to see. The Xbox 360 was my main platform during its era, it had so many dope exclusives and pushed gaming forward in so many ways.

Ever since, all I've seen from Xbox are poor decisions, flop after flop, all of its franchises mishandled, terrible PR strategies, terrible console naming conventions, and now from no exclusives to no studios.

I honestly see no way for the brand to recover, and I'm not happy about that because this industry needs competition against Sony.

She is right tho. Building a franchise is tough, and they do have big IPs like those you mentioned. And even they suffer from bad management.

So yeah, focus on their biggest IP. Give it the attention it needs, the talent they need, cut out the rest of it, and also probably close down game pass. It's a money sink.
