Hi there,

it's time for another candy swap! Since there isn't already a thread about it, I thought I'll give it a shot (with support from J.M.Romeo and everyone else who wants to help, you're welcome).

I know we are already a little late for the holiday season (shipping durations etc), so deadlines are shorter this time.

How can you participate?
Easy =) Just post here and add some details (like usual)
Your country of residence
Preferred country you want to swap with
Candy you like or cannot live without
Candy you don't like
Allergies etc.

After the deadline, I will collect all participants and match you as close as i can.

How much candy do I send?
As much as you want, but at least 20$. After you got your partner you can decide on whichever amount of candy feels right for you (can there ever be enough candy)?
Keep your receipts just in case. International shipping can take some time (my last candy package to the US took over a month)

Note from J.M.Romeo: International shipping can get quite expensive, so he tried to spent as much on candy as on shipping cost.
Wrap everything properly! It's winter time, so hopefully chocolate is somewhat safe =)

What are the deadlines?
Sign up deadline: November 27th
Buying/Shipping deadline: December 5th

So, I guess that's about it! I loved the last candy swap and it would be a sad thing if we didn't have one for the holiday season. Last thing is to put myself up on the list =)

Be prepared to spend some cash on shipping, too. I think in total I spent about $80 between shipping and candy, but it was worth it. So worth it.

I can't do it this time around. We're still working off the last of the candy from the last swap, plus Halloween candy, plus I'm making several large batches of my own to send out for the holidays right after Thanksgiving. My house is drowning in sugar. :lol

I've just checked that all food items to USA must obtain a 'Prior Notice Conformation Number' if I'm going to ship it out via my country's EMS service, I'm not sure about other continents though:

Yes, December 5th. Given the fact that shipping overseas takes some time plus it's near christmas =) So by sending the the candy on December 5th everything should be fine.

If we're looking for more people, maybe we can forgo the whole "holiday" theme and just go with a random end/start-of-year candy swap? That will give people more time to decide on whether they want to join in. It will also give us a lot more time to buy and ship, so we're not feeling as pressured by the time constraints.

edit: Just thought. Does everything need to be vacuum sealed? I know of a place that makes their own candy, and they used resealable bags.
