Dave AND Drew?

Brad complains a lot about the camera in co-op but it's fine as long as you're not playing with 2 people like Patrick and Ryan who are actively working against you. :P

Also, Brad should use planks more.
Even if the people you're playing with aren't out to fuck your shit up, it still is a horrendous camera for local co-op.

Ok, this Quick Look confirmed it for me...I really do not like Klepek as an addition to the show/podcast. His breaking boxes/griefing shtick was lame as fuck and just annoying as shit to watch.

He has brought nothing to the podcast. In my opinion, there are pretty much three things you can bring to a good gaming podcast - humor, a strong knowledge of games and gaming, or a unique and interesting take on gaming. Giant Bomb had those three covered with Jeff, Ryan, Vinny and Brad.

Klepek certainly has extensive knowledge of games, but they had that covered in spades already. IMO, that's the easiest thing to bring to the table, people who are super-knowledgeable about games are a dime a dozen. It's the humor and a unique take on things that are harder to come by. Klepek has been nothing but filler, no real meat or content.

I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but as an additional host to Giant Bomb I feel he's been a failure.

Urgh. Sounds like the worst way to ruin a QL of the game.

Patrick seems to think he's some master troll, like the way he's so proud of putting bad themes on a jukebox in pubs. So witty guys, right? Right?

This was like the Dead Island TNT. Brad tried to make progress and the guys just were like little kids "hey look at me hey hey I do funny stuff HEY. HEEEYY!" Ugh.

Yea, I really felt for Brad in that QL. Guy needs new friends!

At least Ryan was funny about it. He did it once or twice and made a funny comment that had me laughing. "Fuck you shitty wizard" was funny.

Fucking Klepek was NON-STOP. Virtually every time Brad made a box or a plank Klepek would break it. It's like having an annoying 12 year old around, or that one guy who beats a joke into the ground waaaay past it being funny. You could tell it was annoying Ryan as well, because by the end he was saying shit like "Stop being a dick, Knight."

Agreed.

Was really glad to initially see exxy as part of the crew, and earlier in the year on the Bombcast(when he was more subdued and getting acclimated to the crew) he was a solid addition. He didn't break into the debates as much, but when he did perk up, it was usually to say something meaningful.

Now he does seem to come across as a total jackass that never shuts up. :(

That's true.

yes Patrick was a little too annoying but Brad is sometimes so serious in the QL. What I mean is he plays these games in co-op or just single player games acts as if he is playing by himslef constantly looking for secrets, leveling up his dude etc. He should just play as if this is a one time game with no saving allowed so he can show the mechanics of the game without worrying about missing a secret or leveling up perfectly.

I can't disagree with that - sometimes I'm watching and thinking "C'mon, Brad, let it go and move on."

I like Brad when he hosts QLs - he's actually my favourite. I like how serious and focused he is.

And re Patrick, I just find him bland. I'm sure he's great at his job, but even with Nolan North he tried to be funny and wasn't (eventually resulting in being embarrassed).

That Trine 2 QL was awful, Patrick comes across as someone's annoying 12 year old brother. I never thought I'd ever say such things about a GB QL :-(

I think Patrick is suffering from overexposure in the videos lately. It seems like he's more than he isn't.

I like him but I think exxy should cut down on bs appearance count for a while.

Not to be a Debbie Downer with the whole Declaration thing, but if you watch when Brad puts in the answer it reads it as "Dec" because I guess he hit confirm before clicking on Declaration of Independence or something.

Brad and Ryan getting the steal with Dishes though, that was highlight of the QL.

I noticed this too. He hit start instead of one of the triggers. It was still funny but everyone blamed the game when it was really his mistake. Not that I'm defending Family Feud, it's still a shitty game.

I think anything I dislike about Patrick is probably true about the rest of the guys aside from Vinny, maybe Brad. So whatever.

Bah I like all the gbomb dudes. I feel if I was playing Trine coop with my friends we would be doing the same things to each other that they did in the quicklook.

If anything, Patrick brings a fairly strong knowledge of gaming culture and more than anyone else has on the team (aside from Dave and Drew). Everyone's way too critical about him, I think, because he's the new guy/not one of the originals. He's got a pretty daunting task in front of him to fit in to the other four who mesh so well, but it's a good difference and gets the others talking about things they don't really talk about - gaming outside their immediate experience.

The Dead Island thing was absolutely amazing.

This was a bit much. I like Patrick a lot though otherwise.

And it would be cool if he did that without being obnoxious, loud and without interrupting people every second like he was a squirrel on coke. Also, taking his cues from what essentially is forum reception of games is boring. You can almost always tell what he is going to say, because it has been presented in GAF one way or another.

I like the other dudes because they bring their own perspective, distant from what we usually read here or similar places: Jeff is always referential and funny, and makes the weirdest connections. He makes a good combo with Ryan, who is very dismissive of stuff, and jokingly rude about it. Brad is super serious about some things, but only if they capture him, and Vinny is just fucking Vinny i.e. awesome. Patrick ends up being like the regular GAF poster who found its way into that group of dudes and tries too hard to fit.

I don't dislike the guy, I just don't think he fits with the content they do (unlike Drew and Dave for example).

Patrick was fine during the Nolan North interview. I normally enjoy what he brings to GiantBomb in every other capacity.

But I was getting sort of annoyed at what a spaz he was during the Trine 2 quicklook. Comedy has a pretty short shelf life and Patrick drilled the whole "lol I am going to be a total asshole to Brad" in to the ground pretty fast. It very quickly became unpleasant to watch and was getting in the way of everything else.

I also don't like the growing trend that Ryan and Patrick are establishing themselves as "the trolls of GiantBomb". Trolling has always been, to me, more cringe-worthy than entertaining and the idea of more of that on Giantbomb is a pretty significant turn-off.

Hey guys, Vinny is my favorite because he's the best. How about you?

Seriously though, these lengthy conversations you guys have every few pages about who is/isn't annoying are as stupid as they are pointless.

We are, however, allowed to have opinions, especially on a site as personality-driven as GiantBomb.
