The GiantBomb Quick Look Thread

Vinny/Dave combined with a third is the best team. I feel those two can mesh with any of the others really well.

But I was getting sort of annoyed at what a spaz he was during the Trine 2 quicklook. Comedy has a pretty short shelf life and Patrick drilled the whole "lol I am going to be a total asshole to Brad" in to the ground pretty fast. It very quickly became unpleasant to watch and was getting in the way of everything else.

I also don't like the growing trend that Ryan and Patrick are establishing themselves as "the trolls of GiantBomb". Trolling has always been, to me, more cringe-worthy than entertaining and the idea of more of that on Giantbomb is a pretty significant turn-off.

I think Vinny and Dave/Drew is the best QL team. Both Dave and Drew have a love for, and history with, PC gaming, and Vinny is curious about it, showing genuine interest in things that most "mainstream" gamers don't experience. It's a good dynamic, and makes for a really entertaining QL. Really, it's just a great "fish out of water" narrative, with Dave/Drew showing Vinny things, with Vinny being a great proxy for the GB viewing audience.

... Man, I need to stop viewing things through the eyes of an English student, lol.
 
I don't get the hate for the Trine 2 quicklook. I went in expecting to be annoyed, but Patrick didn't really do all that much, and when he did break boxes, it was still pretty funny.

The game still looks crappy though. Trine sucked.
 
So glad the Giant Bomb team is smart enough to ignore posts on the internet and just do things their own way. None of this crap even occurs to me until I check out one of these threads.

I don't think people could be bigger babies about things so petty.

People like the site because of the personalities, so it is no surprise that most of the bitchi about the site has to do with personalities.
 
The Phantasmagoria thing is the best video on Giant Bomb. Vinny/Dave is undisputedly the best combination.

The random PC game is the best thing they do. Well second best if you count the SNES marathon.

The Premium stuff where Jeff answers questions is also really good.

Some people just sweat dude. I worked with a guy that almost no matter what the temperature in the office, he'd have pit stains by 10 am.
 
Pretty sure there is AC. At least they always complain about how there is none in the bombcast room which makes it sound like there is elsewhere in the office. Probably just a combination of stage light, Ryan being a pretty big guy and well as someone else said, some people really just sweat extremely much.
 
Trine 2's graphics look really good. I played the first one with friends and it was pretty decent. I thought Patrick and Ryan being jerks to Brad was funny, haha.

For a WHILE back in October, every video I played from the GB site had the same long Dead Island trailer attached to it. Haven't seen anything like it since. It was super annoying because the audio on the advertisement was so much louder than the actual GB video.
 
Super Monday Night Combat looks like a lot of fun, I like that they're adopting the F2P model similar to all of the other DOTA-esque games. Wasn't a fan of the first one but it looks like they've improved on some of the shitty parts (one-hit melee kills, for starters).

Must be unbalanced on 360 because the support was always insanely broken in the pc version.

Pushmo looks like a really fun, little game.

I really love the whole "you have to beat a level before it becomes public" idea. At the very least, it keeps you from wasting your time on something.
 
I hate evil spaceship, looks like another quick look I'll be skipping.

I have no problem with giant bomb getting bigger, just don't bring in annoying idiots like evil spaceship.
