Huh, there's quite a lot of fanservice in that trailer. I don't even mean minor instances, there's some pretty NSFW (Kanbaru) stuff in there. It's not surprising to learn that there will be fanservice in the show, but it's weird to put so much of it in the trailer. I mean, if you want people to watch the show then you have to hold some of it back!
Looks like they've got around to animating enough scenes to have a trailer, now we'll just have to see how well they do with a real TV productions schedule!
I know, but most of the 13 episode adaptations nowadays are mostly meh because of the sucky pacing. I wish more studios would make stuff like True Tears

Well adapting a manga or novel into 13 or less episodes is definitely challenging, so I can see why pacing problems would arise. Then again, I feel that lots of anime titles have problems with pacing so I think it's a problem that's wider than just adaptations.
The recent trend towards shorter and shorter shows isn't necessarily a bad thing, however, when titles like Wandering Son and Usagi Drop are strong throughout their run.
At least there's lots of older shows that you can go and check out, if you're so inclined!
Right, it's Christmas/New Year week off and I've just beaten Arkham City. Anime plans:
i) Finish Penguin Drum (4 eps to go!)
ii) Finish Mouryou no Hako (8 eps to go!)
iii) Maybe try and catch up on Chihayafuru (only watched 2 episodes so far)
Watch me fail to do any of these things!
I haven't even really kept up with what's airing next season - for a monocle is there anything worth paying attention to? I'll watch Aquarion Evol because I hate myself, but nothing else springs to mind...

I feel like i've finished most of the good older stuff (I usually only watch stuff that have at the least a romantic subplot) Do you know any website that's good for browsing anime (Sort of like how for manga, we have mangaupdates.com)

Season 4 of Natsume, I suppose. And it's not a monocle show, but you should get on the Daily Lives of High School Boys hype train if you like funny things.
I haven't really watched many, or any, romance anime this year, so I don't know how true that is. However, as Chihayafuru doesn't exclusively focus on romance-plot I think the show as a whole is more enjoyable then it would have been if it had a narrower focus. Then again, by that loose definition, Wandering Son is a 'romance anime' and it's even better than Chihayafuru.
Also, why do you think Chihayafuru is a good 'romance anime'? Is it something simple, like the characters, or is there some other reason that you like it?
If you say so. It's good, but not really structured any differently than your typical battle shounen outside some minor politics, so I just found it interesting.

Even though romance isn't the only or even dominant aspect of Chihayafuru, it wins by default, since I can't think of any other show worth watching this year with romance as a major part. Of course, I haven't seen Wandering Son yet (I'm getting to it, I promise!).

Mostly the characters, Chihaya in particular, but also the overall production quality of the show - the direction, the art, the music are all strong. Their beauty compliments the core narrative and makes it all the more emotionally powerful.

Well, as there are thousands of shows out there (well, only a few hundred of those are worth watching) there's probably quite a lot of other works that you might enjoy. We have a few threads that might provide you with some ideas:
I have pretty particular tastes, I guess. I mean it's not like I hate shoujo/josei works (I liked wallflower, though my tastes changed a lot since then) so i'll still try both of them out still
Don't like any of those, honestly (especially kimi machi). I prefer shounen/seinen romantic subplots so (if I had to use manga as an example) it would be stuff like Pretty Face, World Embryo, Sugar Dark, Unbalance x2 (
ending sucked ass though
) among other stuff.
Btw, right now i'm watching Gosick and it's pretty good
Oh dear, these OVA's were good and bad at the same time.
The good part is that it was more Kurenai, mainly focusing on basically light hearted harem hijinks which is probably in line with what to expect with an OVA.
But.
As someone who has only watched the anime, I did not like how the OVA basically did a manga reset with the OVA's, initially I thought I missed a season 2 somewhere and I had to go on wikipedia and research on the character traits that changed between manga and anime, and to read up on the characters they just suddenly introduced appeared with near indecipherable millisecond flashbacks, which left me confused about everything throughout nearly the whole thing.
If you have watched Tiger and Bunny episode 15 you've reached the shows highest point and I'm sad to say it goes downhill from there, largely because Sunrise do their Sunrise thing in an extremely obvious and clunky manner.
Bakemonagatari is really good. It just has lots of text and SHAFTNESS in it.
But it has Kana Hanazawa and a catgirl in it so there you go.
Im starting to reach a point where I have to work so much extra and have so little free time that I am hopelessly backlogged to a point where I dont think I will EVER catch up with hardly any shows.

Last Exile 10/11/I have no idea what the official number is can someone please tell me?:
Yeah. This episode is full of QUALITY. The first half especially is unreal ugly, it makes Meguca look amazing. The usual pan out shots where nothing is even drawn correctly let alone animated while the characters talk, the slanty eyes derp all over the place, second half is better but its still there.
As for the episode itself, God damn. Holy crap. doomed1 you were indeed correct.
So three things from this episode the first being the what the hell
everybody is dead and the Silvius is DOOOOOOOOOOMED. Lightsaber battle was cool as hell but uh Dio everybody else is dead, you're kinda fighting the irrelevant battle of irrelevance here. That was some serious hacks going on, not much of a fair fight >:/.
The next being
Liliana. What the hell? Turncoat wench she might as well have stuck the knife into her sister while she was at it. I really, really, really hope the show doesn't try to paint her in any kind of sympathetic light for her actions.
And finally
the return of Alvis. Introduced by Dio. Say what? Dio introduces her to Fam Fam talking all about the hardships and deaths she had to deal with. Please tell me this was just referring to her old nurse and pilot and not that some combination of Mullin, Dunya, Lavie and Claus are dead D:
All in all a really neat and awesome episode. I just wish it looked a little better especially considering how important this episode was and well its the episode after some filler recap.
Did I tell you, or DID I TELL YOU? Next episode is going to be sooooooooo hax~
however, they did very well to create all the little hints that next episode is looking up, even if it's a huge set-back (Sky Russians returning a favor, and that wasn't those black clad hax-ninjas that shut the engine down~).

I agree next episode should just be as crazy as this one.
Dem Sky Russian girls are obviously going to get involved.
I'm really curious as to what role
Alvis
is going to play now too. I was kind off the Fam Fam ship for a little bit but I'm back on. Trusting GONZO for anything good though is going to leave me in sad disappointment in the end but I don't really care.
